- Mount to Coast is a new running shoe company and this is their first shoe, the R1. The shoe has been popularised by the world record it broke and has somehow found its way to me for review.

Exactly!!! That’s the bit that got my attention!
Believe they are only shipping inside the US at present but be good to understand what angle they are really targetting with a shoe seemingly designed for road ultras which surely is a very niche market. In other words is it also good to do say a casual 10K which nearly all runners will want to do quite often.
That’s the interesting part. I actually love it for an easy run, it felt perfect in my zone 2 6K run and I have a slightly longer one in it tomorrow. It runs like a dream at an easy pace

I am excited for the new entry to the market. I think they put quite a bit of thought in R1 and S1 and I am looking for their R1R (with rubber outsole for trail ultras).

Like the new format but would have made more sense if they'd sent you the S1 for review, which IS a daily trainer!
To be honest with you, this shoe is perfect as a daily trainer for my kind of running. I actually love it. The S1 will make sense if it’s cheaper
$150 dollars so not much!
