Something that could compliment well with the art books is using a commonplace book to get down any kind of notes as inspiration from anywhere, like physical/personal version of Pinterest (it can be used with any kind of notebook or sketchbook). I have a some small sketchbooks and notebooks that I jot down quick and dirty inspirations/ideas/quotes from art/regular books, music, shows, and so on. There's also lots of great videos that go more into making commonplace books too!
