- Medical Oncologist Mark Scholz, MD, discusses the staging and treatment of metastatic prostate cancer that has spread to an organ such as the liver or lungs. These situations are rare and are most commonly seen in patients with rare, high-risk prostate cancer who have been on treatments for several years, but can also be present in men with newly diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer. While organ metastases do signify one of the most dangerous stages of prostate cancer, it is important to remember that many patients in this situation have still been able to achieve disease control or even remission.

Being BRCA2, I'm thankful for only Stage 4 prostate versus a Stage 4 pancreatic cancer right now. Need to keep finding things to be grateful for. Lost 41 yr old son to pancreatic cancer 3.5 years ago so I've witnessed both. Take care all.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY
His did metastasized to his liver and had one spot on one of his lungs. The PSMA pet scan showed it showed up in the beginning of November. It was definitely a shock that it showed up in those areas.
