I found one of these in working condition with all its accessories (including screw drivers) with a €50 price tag. I put probably another €50 into restoring it and now I use it almost every day.
What a jewel. I haven't been able to afford one so far. I'll have to stick with my 401A and 600E. I have later models 700 series convertibles but not as well done in my opinion to the 431.
There's two brown handle screw drivers, 4 bobbins, 5 cams, 5 needle plates, 9 presser feet. They can take two needles beside each other. Setting the stitch width adjustment to AK2 for that. AL3 for double needle zig zag.
Hi! I saw this machine in a used ad here in Brazil - I need a machine that fits two buttonholes that I bought in the United States, but they are for slant shank machines - is this machine that slant shank? Which and how many parts are part of the set of this machine? If you can answer my questions, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

These are awesome sewing machines! Thanks!

Hi Kenneth Jones! This is the only convertible machine I have. I am keeping an eye out for a 421G but I have never run across one yet!
The plate referred to at 04:05 is the one with the spring lever. It is the plate required to be able to chain stitch.

Good value! Awesome machine! Good job!

Hi Douglas! Yes the Singer 400 series & 500 series models are slant shank and should work with the buttonholer’s!
Greetings from downtown Montréal!
Is this available for sale and how much is it? Does it come with the carrying case?
Hi Karyl Miller! Thanks for the interest. Sorry, not for sale. All of these machines are my collection. I hope you are able to find a machine soon.
