I was in Starehe Boys and Pumwani high school shares a fence with Starehe. When these guys used to practice, we could hear. Many times I would just sit on the balcony of one our dormitories and listen to these instrumentals. I was raised in a home where my father loved rhumba, and so, Pumwani used to give me the much needed therapy, especially now that I was very far away from our home in Trans-Nzoia. I love live rhumba bands so much!
whoever came up with the idea to have the young ones recreate these lovely songs that the older generation grew up with is a to be praised, shows the power of this music. they never get old and a new generation gets to appreciate and enjoy it their own way.
I enjoyed the sound and audio in this one. Thanks Akunda for the entertainment. Wish they could do something about the sound engineering in the festivals.
