I am constantly blown away by how much more information you add to the original stories, Brad.
Thank you for that.
It is an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to research his original broadcasts. I thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. I'm glad you enjoy them, Cotton Dave. :)
That one came out of left field, Brad! It's amazing who she tried to emulate in the early days! What a super lady! Thanks for another lesson from yourself and Mr Harvey 😉 God bless, my friend!
Mr. Harvey has a knack for pulling the rug out from under us, doesn't he? hahaha. I'm glad you enjoyed it. God bless you too, Ronnie. :)
Omigosh! I SO loved Doris Day growing up as a child in the 60's. Her movies were always so delightful! There was this one scene in a movie (for the life of me the title escapes me now) but, she would call her phone in the middle of the day and her poodles would just tear around her apartment. When asked what she was doing, she replied something to the effect of making sure her dogs were getting their exercise. She had the most wholesome image as well as being SO talented. Brad, just when I think you can't outdo yourself, well, you go and do it!!!! Thanks for sparking these fun memories!!!
I'm very glad this brought up fond memories. I've not seen the film you mentioned. I'll have to see what that is and watch it. It sounds hilarious. I adore Doris Day as well. Thank you for the kind words. I hope you have a wonderful day. :)
class, grace and style, that's Doris Day
Absolutely. :)
Wow, didn't see that coming. Thanks. ❤
Mr. Harvey has a knack for pulling the rug out from under us at the last minute. :)
Thank you very much for this, I used to love listening as a child to Paul Harvey, although his voice sounds very different from what I remember but then again I was a child of about five or six and I used to listen to him on the southern command Network military radio.. his voice sounds so old here but maybe it's just me and my memories of what he sounded like as a child are probably different than what we're hearing here.
I'm not sure when this one was recorded. I can't answer to that. I'm glad this brought back fond memories. :)
My favorite Doris Day songs that I remember from my childhood were “Que Sera Sera” and “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window.”
Oh yeah. Absolutely. Now I know what I'm going to listen to today. :)
Great story.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
I didn't know it this time, but I should have. The last name was familiar to me, but didn't ring any bells. Loved her voice and liked her acting. She was very loyal to her friends. She was friends with Rock Hudson to the very end of his life. My wife and I like Pillow talk with her and Rock Hudson.
That's a good film. I've seen it many times and always enjoy it. I may have to watch it again this weekend. :)
I love the song Sentimental Journey. Now that you mentioned it I can hear her singing just that opening line (I think? 🤔) over and over in my head. That's really the only part of the song that I can remember without listening to it. The rest is muffled and garbled.
Hahahaha. It's a good song. I always think of Glenn Miller when I hear that song. His version is wonderful. :)
@@BradDison I don't believe I've had the pleasure. Gonna have to remedy that at some point.
What a great story.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
This is going to sound weird but when I was a kid I used to listen to him on military radio, and hearing his voice now it's so very different.
Not at all. I've heard from lots of veterans who listened to him on military radio. :)
@@BradDison well they were older than me so to them he would have sounded one way to me as a 5 year old child 6 year old child 7 year old child you got the idea he would have sounded another.
@@BradDisonalso bear in mind that he sounds to me very old hearing him now when I heard him he didn't sound that old, then again it was more than 50 plus years ago.
I had the biggest crush on Doris Day anybody else?
Absolutely. She’s wonderful. :)
Oh , now I get it ,what ever will be , will be .
That's right. :)
👍❤️
:)
The glass bottom boat
I don't know if I've seen that one. I'll have to check it out. :)
