It's because it's so unrealistic for most people, esp the cost. I feel with the rockwool it's NOT aeroponics and JUST HYDROPONICS because that's what we used for super simple hydroponics when I was in the vegetable industry.
I started an indoor garden for less than $300. And I grow a heck of a lot more than lettuce and herbs. Three closet sized indoor greenhouses plus LED grow lights, extra LED grow lights, plastic shelves, and various containers give us fresh vegetables daily. Scallions, garlic, celery, cherry tomatoes, carrots, sugar snap peas, string beans, cabbage, collard greens, spinach, kale, chives, parsley, basil, cilantro, radishes, turnips, beets, sweet potatoes, ginger, daikon, romaine lettuce, microgreens, and sprouts. Start with one or two container plants and see if you have an interest before putting out a ton of money. We "grew" our system over a period of years. We stayed motivated because growing food indoors is fun and tasty!
I could tell you, but you could also search RUclips for different and easy setups. An easy one involves a 5 gallon bucket and a submersible pump and a 4 inch pipe about 5 to 6 feet long. The beauty of it is, anywhere that you can fit a bucket, you can have a little garden with over 10 plants.

That is one question I have asked myself from the moment I started watching these videos. Pleasing to the eyes, yes, but how much nutrients does it contain
Any asbestos would be miniscule and not airborne because it's mixed with water. Unless you're snorting the water it should not make it to your lungs. And most folks don't eat the roots. :-)
Apparently, the EPA says that the amount of asbestos present poses a low risk to your health if used infrequently. I would just wear an N95 mask and wash thoroughly after exposure.
@@daniellebarker7667 Bro the crop literally grows around it. The vermiculite is there when it germinates, so roots wrap around it, and during it's time on the tower it's always wet, so the corrosion might release all the asbestos and help the roots absorb it.

And the difference with soil or a more controlled, hydronic settup is what exactly? The plants in the video certainly looked super healthy and happy! Didn't they?? Hopefully your dirt has the same nutrients as the water-mix has. And the water-grow-liquid doesn't have any of the poisons or harmful chemicals that your soil might have for the plants to suck up, which you would then eat! Verticle gardening is certainly the future. Esp for areas without usable soil or limited space. Like on a rocket ship, perhaps, going to Mars!!! Or In a desert of sand. Or micro farms, made to feed a family with limited outdoor space! So what's your problem with this set up? You can buy a package of seeds for $3-$4. And I buy one aeroponically grown head of bibb lettuce at the store for $3! EACH! And how many seeds are in a pack of bibb lettuce seeds do you think--- 100, 200? And finally, "chemically grown food" is such a dumb thing to say. What do you think crops get from your soil butbthe same exact chemicals from the earth or soil, plus whatever else is in it that you are totally unaware of it being there, stuff that is way less than healthy to be consuming! Because, you have no control of what is in your dirt! Or lands on your dirt, from say, a chemical train derailment spill, and its cloud of noxious fumes that drifted where exactly? And landed where exactly? Maybe on your dirt!!! Do ya think???

This is modern farming for people who probably live in the city.
