    A Venturimeter having a diameter of 100 mm at throat and 300 mm at the enlarged end is provided in a pipe line inclined at angle of 60°, carrying oil of specific gravity 0.85, the flow being upslope. The length from the entrance section of the Venturimeter to the throat section is 500 mm. The differential U-tube mercury manometer shows a gauge deflection of 300 mm. Calculate: (1) the pressure difference between the entrance section and the throat section (2) the discharge of oil through the pipeline. Given C=0.98. Specific Gravity of Mercury as 13.6.

    A venturimeter of inlet diameter 300 mm and throat diameter 150 mm is fixed in a vertical pipe line. A liquid of sp.gr. 0.8 is flowing upward through the pipe line. A differential manometer containing mercury gives a reading of 100 mm when connected at inlet and throat. The vertical differences between inlet and throat is 500 mm.
    If C_{d} = 0.98 , then find: (i) rate of flow of liquid in litre per second and (ii) difference of pressure between inlet and throat in N / (m ^ 2)
