Dima Gorelik Trio feat. Stav Goldberg - “Maliarkitsa” - Live at Palm Jazz Festival 2023

This beautiful gypsy standard was discovered by Eugeni Doga from gypsy music records from 1930’s and used by him for his music for the movie “Gypsies are found near heaven” - 1976. I made my arrangement for the record called Anno Domini “Galilee” 2007. So that’s pretty old. This is why I appreciate even more, when my young friends can understand the vibe of this tune, and improvise over it in 2023. The remarkable thing is, that Stav Goldberg never played this tune before. So you can see him using a score and seems like not having any problems with it. Another interesting thing is, that my friends are pretty emotional human beings, so they use to sing, when they play. Though not always they approach microphones, sometimes they just hum for themselves. I found it beautiful, so I used an AI to isolate the voice from overall sound, and then mixed that in the recording.
