I would do this when I first started selling, you reviewed my page and told me this exact advice. I changed what I was doing and instead of worrying about the traffic I was getting, I just focused on the quality of items, photos, and description to improve my sales. Just got over 200 sales over a month ago. I started in Feburary, so I appreciate what you do not gate keeping advice and giving back to the community!
To be honest, I don't find this as annoying as people sending offers and not paying. That's the true epidemic on depop. The whole thing of a buyer sending an offer, the seller accepts to then have to wait and see if the buyer agrees!? Like what? It's ridiculous. I bet if Depop did what poshmark and Mercari do, people would be more responsible with their offers. I don't understand how Depop thinks this is beneficial in any way
Yeah, that shit is getting annoying AF. I've been recently sending a counter offer just to see if the buyer is serious. Whereas in the past, I probably would have just accepted
I stopped selling on depop the whole thing is getting really annoying other sellers lowballing you for your stuff When it’s already at a low price that really goes for the whole everybody on Depop nobody wants to buy anything at the price. I’ll deal with eBay.
I'm so glad you're talking about this, I've been meaning to bring this up in your discord for a minute but it's just so confusing. I know it's probably faster cash but it just comes across as super scummy. All ethics are apparently out of the window in today's market lmao
Thanks for bringing this to light… been selling on Depop since 2018 and I get more information from YOU than whoever is running the app now lol. Thanks man. ❤️
It’s really annoying and untruthful. For anyone who falls for a fake listing and the buyer doesn’t refund, GO SNITCH TO DEPOP because Depop will (usually) run you your money back and sometimes even ban the seller.
I liked this video! It doesn't even come across as a hate video, but more so as a warning/heads up to buyers specifically, and to the sellers who practice this method. This was informative, if anything. Please post more of these diplomatic "rant" style videos if you wish 😊
I did this like 2 times thinking it was a good idea just cause how many likes I seen others getting and the “do not buy post” and then realized it’s just shady and not a good idea and is only gonna hurt my business and never did it again💀
You ever hear the saying "I learned it from you". This is what kids say (not you) to thier parents when they get in trouble for doing what they see. In this case, I think these kids see all the adults that are scammers and don't get punished. They have no business sense and aren't interested in making an honest buck. Society has taught them they can making a living scamming people. Not letting them off the hook but they do what you see. Good on you for calling them out. Depop needs to do something to stop it. Oh and nice hat :)
Updated thoughts, A) we love loveless vintage b) Watch loveless vintage how to sell videos. Personally I've taken tips from it and its paid off same with other depop sellers like jack thrifts and Grassstain nostalgia. I've been selling vintage for almost half a decade. I started off on Grailed and started a Depop, depop was pretty slow and now it sells better than my Grailed. I've had repeat customers I've reach top seller bit mostly in the 10,000s. But the one thing is customer service is treat your buyers well and be open with communication they will come back and buy more. I've been scammed on sold listings, I've had chargebacks, but with everything 1 of those I have someone who's buying more from my shop because they enjoy what I sell.
I followed some and I had no idea. I think some could be scams and just wanting more engagement but it’s sounds frustrating for both the buyer and seller and worth the time. I would have took that $235. That would straight money in my pocket and to reinvest back into it quickly and scale up. Just losing money waiting when you could make the same faster if more with volume. That’s how I’m trying to do it.
depop has a lot of issues on the platform. regardless, the true and real community members have all been amazing. that speaks volumes about the individuals who work hard every day to make the platform a more positive space

ayyeee so glad to hear this homie! i appreciate the comment a ton and big ups to you for killing it ❤️
Literally 1 out of every 4 items on my explore page there is always one of these listings. It’s soooo annoying!
completely agree with everything you said, depop needs to make some sort of age limit to be a seller or something like that.
Should be like 16 at least
thanks king! i think it actually is 16!
FINALLY!!! someone else has spoke on this. i thought i was the only one who was experiencing this

Maaaan let them call you a boomer! Millenials and older gen z have a duty to free the youth from clout demontry. Keep fighting the good fight bro 😂

pop off 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I think you can get a refund on fake ads if you report them to Depop. I never had it happen to me, but it seems against terms and conditions,
It’s like the fake sales for thousands for jncos on eBay
that was insane 😂😭

This man doesn't miss
i literally just saw somebody doing this on their profile!
How can you not get refunded ??? How does Depop allow this ? I got refunded on Poshmark after the seller failed to ship.
Kids these days have no patience for their items to gain traction 😂
I've never seen this on depop but I like this rant video tho! Lmk the depop tea 🍵 😂

Just getting back into depop after a few years and wow, it has changed… not sure for the better.
make it better! be the change dawg
Omg yes I’ve seen this strange and odd behavior so much recently. Hopefully it fades out and their method doesn’t last 😭 very unnecessary ✋
very annoying for sure, thank u for ranting on this lmao
i got you lmao 😂
Did that sound like an old fart rant? OMG.
lol
how many sells weekly would you think you'd need to be top 100 seller in any given month ?
So they are allowed to not refund people and not send the item??
i’ve legit seen people send people rocks and other things instead of this listing it’s so crazy
@@lovelessvintage that's wack. Can they report and get a refund if it isn't the item as described?
depop has a lot of issues on the platform. regardless, the true and real community members have all been amazing. that speaks volumes about the individuals who work hard every day to make the platform a more positive space
