We're getting what we asked for, asking for all these players to leave, we've been asking for several seasons now. It's scary though, that replacing these players wasn't all pre-planned before now, especially with the new season starting soon. It's scary how unprepared we are, especially with the chance of champions league football dangling in front of us. We all asked for it, but, we never asked for what we're getting at this moment in time. We were told their would be a rebuild, it's time for the board to step up and give the manager the rebuild that we need!

There is one at Rijeka FC in Croatia, called Niko Jankovic. He would be a big upgrade on Cantwell. He isntransfer rated at around £3 million and is 22 years old. He could make us money as well.
Don’t underestimate the pressure someone like Liam Kelly will put on Gentleman Jack. Them boys need team bonding asap. It’s Kelly’s job of course but he’s a serious, vocal young man. Also would also prioritise a defender over high priced forward

No, we need a leader in defence. These frailties have been present for years. We have had 2 so called leaders for years but they have been shown to not be good enough. We need a real leader to boss the defence and our captain should either be a CB or CM. In a plus note, Barron is a brilliant signing for us. So many fans have shown their snobbery over the years about singing from SPFL while at the same time saying we should sign Scottish. Today there were positives.
You were arguing the toss over Souttar recently with me and defending him. He is never Rangers class. Neither is Davies. Tav is done and Godson is done. We need two starting centre backs in as a matter of urgency. Do you see it now? I agree that Barron and Diomande were positives. Cortes is getting sharper as well.
I have taken some amount of cheek at times from pointing out that Tav, Goldson, Davies and Souttar were not good enough. I have said for ages on here that Souttar is not Rangers class. His level is the likes of St Johnstone or Dundee. It was our defense that cost us in the run in. We fix and rebuild the centre of defence then we will have fixed alot. I know we can't get shot of every player at once. However Goldson seems out, Tav should follow and so should Davies. £27k per week for Davies for that pish. Balogun doesn't have the capacity to play all the games, Nsiala is still a bit raw and needs time, though he looks decent. Balogun and Nsiala would be the main cover and King and Souttar would be only in utter emergencies or in the smaller cup games until we can one day get rid of Souttar. We need two regular starters in and a right back with experience as Sterling is struggling to stay available. Also Clement is mental if he thinks Jack Butland is a £30 to £40 million keeper. The guy is decent but thats a whopper from Phil. I don't think Phil is the answer right now and I also, think its another mistake from the board. Still get us winning and playing better and I will come out and eat humble pie. I know I am not wrong about our defence and I have been right all along. It has taken quite a few a long time to catch that.

The weaknesses are staring us all in the face. Need a RB, LB, and 3 stronger CB's than our current 3. Build the team around Diomande by adding better quality to compliment him.
Good broadcast young fella. I took some pelters for criticising Butland at the tail end of last season. I commented on his performances leading up to the euros when he was overlooked for the England squad. His distribution is woeful and he seems to be going backwards. Kelly would be a starter for me. Apart from that , Tav has to go. We need to recruit a centre back and RFB to cover Sterling. Some good point to take away from the Union Berlin match, but defence definately needs strengthening.
Biggest thing with Dio is he is always trying to go forward, he will try to turn with players at his back when he thinks he can beat the guy. But it's when oppenent isn't near him, he will always turn and go up the field not pass back...run back...get ball back and be on the same situation before the pass but now 10 to 15 yards back. Had too many of those midfielders over the years.

Transfer window defensive options are a mystery. We were linked before the end of the season with the Panama international who opted to join Norwich. Since then it's been very quiet.
We are going in the right direction, slightly nore promising. Taverneir and Wright in the starting lineup is worrying tho, Im not gonna lie. Its clear they are not good enough. Can only hope its to put them in the shop window 🤷♂️
This has been clear for 2 years now... CB's including goldson have been utter honking, goldson has positives in terms of his ball playing but has been suspect as a defender for years. Davies... no comment, balogun... no comment, soutarr... no comment. Guys are fine as 3rd and 4th choices but starting? Dire. Butland had a real shaky pre season. Diomande and barron look the business though, raskin as well if he can stay fit.

Butland & defence have all been shocking. Conceded the exact same goals as last season (attack starting in our RB area and being converted in our LB area). Diomande looks quality on the ball, but far too clumsy in the tackle (not convinced that was a penalty but he bundled players over a few times) - great shout CJ about moving him up a llne. Still lacking some creativity but first and foremost we need to fix that leaky defence. Sterling looks better in CM than RB if you ask me, so I think we need to be in the window for a starting RB with Sterling and Devine as the backups.
So firstly, I agree with you CJ, Diomande has been our standout in pre season. Barron has been damn good too and you can see the partnership building between them. I like your idea of Diomande playing further up the pitch, however, that means we need to get someone to play alongside Barron. I do believe that Barron will be our holding role midfielder which, going by his pre season performances, I'm more than happy with. Lawrence is without doubt, a gifted football player but his injuries list is a long one. What worries me and leads me to distrust him is his performances against Celtic last season. He was worse than a player down. If we can get someone to play alongside Barron then we can put Diomande in the No. 10 role, where the more I think about the idea, the better I like it. DEFENCE - did I just say "defence" because in my mind I'm screaming "what defence?" We DESPERATELY need TWO centre halves that can head the ball. I don't care if they are "hammer throwers" as Souness described them, as long as they can head the ball, know to put it in row Z when there is danger and can pass it, NOT 60 yards*, but 20 yards to teammates. Dynamo Kiev will rip us apart if we don't get that defence sorted. I've heard that whilst the Celtic defence is still shaky, their attack is fast and unless we get that defence sorted then again, they will rip us apart. Jefte did not have a good game at all. Not tracking runners and being caught far too far upfield etc. I know he's young, I know he needs time to settle in but can we afford to trust him as our starting LB? Butland was not without blame either. However, considering the season he had last season😮 I'm OK with him getting the bad games out of the way in pre season. Taverneir was, AGAIN, WOEFUL. He looks like he can't be arsed doing his job. Going by what Clement said that if Sterling hadn't been injured he would have been starting tells us that it is Sterling who he sees as our 1st choice RB. Here's the thing though: if Clement knows that Tav is off and therefore not in his plans, why didn't he start King or even Devine at RB? Some of our football yesterday was really nice and all our goals were well taken but there is still far too many negatives as we stare the start of our season down the barrel of a gun. Unless we can get these sorted ASAP then it is going to be a LONG season. *if they can pass it 60 yards then that would be great but that is not a requirement for me.

Tav never gets injured because he shirks tackles. He doesn't go in for them, nor does he allow anyone to tackle him as she shieks out of them. Sees one comming and jumps out the road. Or passes it on b4 he sees the tackle coming if he's gonna be the one with the ball in that tight space the opponent will tackle. Therefore he sees that he about to happen & gives it away to have another be in that situation instead of him.... that is the reason be managees to stay injury free meanwhile all the teammates around him drop like flies.

If this was earlier in pre season I’d be going goals we’ve conceded is a concern but looks promising unfortunately its the last and its clear at least one CB needs to be a priority for signings along with a RB if Tav goes, on the plus side Hearts got skelped 3-0 off Fleetwood today so their preparation has hardly gone well either. This has got to have been one of the most disjointed pre-seasons I can remember. It looked good early on after last season ended with Clemente looking as if he was going to get his work done early. Quite frankly our transfer situation has pretty much been dependent on selling and with an eternity being taken (will we won't we) over Goldson and Tav, we now face the prospect of going into this week's Champions League qualifier, with the same striker as last season. Results and team performances have been worrying to say the least. Big week for us.
Would rather have a younger keener faster Devine playing than Tav tbh, he can’t do any worse and will learn quicker by playing, but we still need somebody on the posts for set pieces!
I’m going to stay as positive as possible and focus on the differences between last year and this. This IS a rebuild and, so far, it’s been done on a very limited budget. The rotten core IS on the way out and there are more positive signings to come. I’m confident Clement knows what’s still needed… deadwood out… key experience in… then gel. Unlike last year when the signings were mostly done, huge money spent and the core was still in place and in the forefront.

Hate to say it, but John Soutter is not a Rangers cb, as for Davies he's a Preston cb. If we ever needed validation that Tav is done it was today.

There is one at Rijeka FC in Croatia, called Niko Jankovic. He would be a big upgrade on Cantwell. He isntransfer rated at around £3 million and is 22 years old. He could make us money as well.

Dio was brill today followed by Lawrence and then Wright imo. Defence is pants. HE got two but dessers isn't the guy. Wee Cortes did a LOT better than his last game outing.

No, we need a leader in defence. These frailties have been present for years.
We have had 2 so called leaders for years but they have been shown to not be good enough.
We need a real leader to boss the defence and our captain should either be a CB or CM.
In a plus note, Barron is a brilliant signing for us. So many fans have shown their snobbery over the years about singing from SPFL while at the same time saying we should sign Scottish.
Today there were positives.
You were arguing the toss over Souttar recently with me and defending him. He is never Rangers class. Neither is Davies. Tav is done and Godson is done. We need two starting centre backs in as a matter of urgency. Do you see it now? I agree that Barron and Diomande were positives. Cortes is getting sharper as well.
I have taken some amount of cheek at times from pointing out that Tav, Goldson, Davies and Souttar were not good enough. I have said for ages on here that Souttar is not Rangers class. His level is the likes of St Johnstone or Dundee.
It was our defense that cost us in the run in. We fix and rebuild the centre of defence then we will have fixed alot. I know we can't get shot of every player at once. However Goldson seems out, Tav should follow and so should Davies. £27k per week for Davies for that pish. Balogun doesn't have the capacity to play all the games, Nsiala is still a bit raw and needs time, though he looks decent. Balogun and Nsiala would be the main cover and King and Souttar would be only in utter emergencies or in the smaller cup games until we can one day get rid of Souttar. We need two regular starters in and a right back with experience as Sterling is struggling to stay available.
Also Clement is mental if he thinks Jack Butland is a £30 to £40 million keeper. The guy is decent but thats a whopper from Phil. I don't think Phil is the answer right now and I also, think its another mistake from the board. Still get us winning and playing better and I will come out and eat humble pie. I know I am not wrong about our defence and I have been right all along. It has taken quite a few a long time to catch that.

Good broadcast young fella. I took some pelters for criticising Butland at the tail end of last season. I commented on his performances leading up to the euros when he was overlooked for the England squad. His distribution is woeful and he seems to be going backwards. Kelly would be a starter for me. Apart from that , Tav has to go. We need to recruit a centre back and RFB to cover Sterling. Some good point to take away from the Union Berlin match, but defence definately needs strengthening.
Biggest thing with Dio is he is always trying to go forward, he will try to turn with players at his back when he thinks he can beat the guy. But it's when oppenent isn't near him, he will always turn and go up the field not pass back...run back...get ball back and be on the same situation before the pass but now 10 to 15 yards back. Had too many of those midfielders over the years.

Transfer window defensive options are a mystery. We were linked before the end of the season with the Panama international who opted to join Norwich. Since then it's been very quiet.
We are going in the right direction, slightly nore promising. Taverneir and Wright in the starting lineup is worrying tho, Im not gonna lie. Its clear they are not good enough. Can only hope its to put them in the shop window 🤷♂️

This has been clear for 2 years now... CB's including goldson have been utter honking, goldson has positives in terms of his ball playing but has been suspect as a defender for years. Davies... no comment, balogun... no comment, soutarr... no comment. Guys are fine as 3rd and 4th choices but starting? Dire. Butland had a real shaky pre season.
Diomande and barron look the business though, raskin as well if he can stay fit.

Butland & defence have all been shocking. Conceded the exact same goals as last season (attack starting in our RB area and being converted in our LB area). Diomande looks quality on the ball, but far too clumsy in the tackle (not convinced that was a penalty but he bundled players over a few times) - great shout CJ about moving him up a llne. Still lacking some creativity but first and foremost we need to fix that leaky defence.
Sterling looks better in CM than RB if you ask me, so I think we need to be in the window for a starting RB with Sterling and Devine as the backups.
I just hope big dessers hasn't peaked too early, and aye they ran through us like a dodgy kebbab

So firstly, I agree with you CJ, Diomande has been our standout in pre season. Barron has been damn good too and you can see the partnership building between them. I like your idea of Diomande playing further up the pitch, however, that means we need to get someone to play alongside Barron. I do believe that Barron will be our holding role midfielder which, going by his pre season performances, I'm more than happy with.
Lawrence is without doubt, a gifted football player but his injuries list is a long one. What worries me and leads me to distrust him is his performances against Celtic last season. He was worse than a player down. If we can get someone to play alongside Barron then we can put Diomande in the No. 10 role, where the more I think about the idea, the better I like it.
DEFENCE - did I just say "defence" because in my mind I'm screaming "what defence?"
We DESPERATELY need TWO centre halves that can head the ball. I don't care if they are "hammer throwers" as Souness described them, as long as they can head the ball, know to put it in row Z when there is danger and can pass it, NOT 60 yards*, but 20 yards to teammates. Dynamo Kiev will rip us apart if we don't get that defence sorted. I've heard that whilst the Celtic defence is still shaky, their attack is fast and unless we get that defence sorted then again, they will rip us apart.
Jefte did not have a good game at all. Not tracking runners and being caught far too far upfield etc. I know he's young, I know he needs time to settle in but can we afford to trust him as our starting LB?
Butland was not without blame either. However, considering the season he had last season😮 I'm OK with him getting the bad games out of the way in pre season.
Taverneir was, AGAIN, WOEFUL. He looks like he can't be arsed doing his job. Going by what Clement said that if Sterling hadn't been injured he would have been starting tells us that it is Sterling who he sees as our 1st choice RB.
Here's the thing though: if Clement knows that Tav is off and therefore not in his plans, why didn't he start King or even Devine at RB?
Some of our football yesterday was really nice and all our goals were well taken but there is still far too many negatives as we stare the start of our season down the barrel of a gun. Unless we can get these sorted ASAP then it is going to be a LONG season.

Tav never gets injured because he shirks tackles. He doesn't go in for them, nor does he allow anyone to tackle him as she shieks out of them. Sees one comming and jumps out the road. Or passes it on b4 he sees the tackle coming if he's gonna be the one with the ball in that tight space the opponent will tackle. Therefore he sees that he about to happen & gives it away to have another be in that situation instead of him.... that is the reason be managees to stay injury free meanwhile all the teammates around him drop like flies.
I love Lawrence I rate him he deserves a chance with the pre season... Even if he looks like ultimate warrior after his entrance today😂

If this was earlier in pre season I’d be going goals we’ve conceded is a concern but looks promising unfortunately its the last and its clear at least one CB needs to be a priority for signings along with a RB if Tav goes, on the plus side Hearts got skelped 3-0 off Fleetwood today so their preparation has hardly gone well either. Our defence is a major concern though

This has got to have been one of the most disjointed pre-seasons I can remember. It looked good early on after last season ended with Clemente looking as if he was going to get his work done early. Quite frankly our transfer situation has pretty much been dependent on selling and with an eternity being taken (will we won't we) over Goldson and Tav, we now face the prospect of going into this week's Champions League qualifier, with the same striker as last season. Results and team performances have been worrying to say the least. Big week for us.
Would rather have a younger keener faster Devine playing than Tav tbh, he can’t do any worse and will learn quicker by playing, but we still need somebody on the posts for set pieces!
I’m going to stay as positive as possible and focus on the differences between last year and this.
This IS a rebuild and, so far, it’s been done on a very limited budget. The rotten core IS on the way out and there are more positive signings to come. I’m confident Clement knows what’s still needed… deadwood out… key experience in… then gel.
Unlike last year when the signings were mostly done, huge money spent and the core was still in place and in the forefront.
