    I think a big factor with durability is the higher speed, i know i can dump my inmotion v11 under 20 and itll tumble, maybe get a scratch or two, but when i crash doing 30 it shoots off like a loose tire rolling and tumbling and bouncing for like 30ft with parts being flung about

    I still ride my Onewheel all the time after buying and riding EUCs as well. Both are great!! It’s totally a use case thing and I feel lucky to ride either one. :D

    Like comparing a surfboard to a canoe/kayak. Both can exist in same element/terrain, but have different functionality. I skied for 15 yrs then snowboard 15yrs. Then both for a decade depending on conditions. Onewheel/snowboard is more of a vibe and when conditions are right my choice to play on. However, for pure practicality and function, the EUC/skis win out. I even ski patrolled on a snowboard and the limitations compared to skis (skating to pull sled on flats, stepping up while traversing to gain elevation) was obvious. There were some situations handling the rescue sled where the board ruled. But generally skis are a much more practical way to get around the resort. Similarly, the EUC is more practical over a broad range of conditions and terrain. Add the ease of integration with mass transit (I roll right onto the light rail platform, pop the luggage handle, and roll onboard), range and speed to plus column for EUC. Add the single manufacturer and “Apple” style control of repair/upgrade to the minus column of onewheel. Imagine the innovation in onewheel if there was any competition. As a sport or condition-specific hobby the onewheel is great. But to head into an unknown urban or forest road environment, I rely on the EUC to go further faster and deal with more terrain. I love carving… snowboard, longboard, sailboard, etc. Carving on the EUC is similar to skiing, the mechanics are different, and nothing matches a deep toe-side carve on any board, but taking all variables into account I see myself spending significantly more time on EUC.

    I'm a snowboarder but EUC is my PEV of choice! Being a snowboarder, I would love to give the OneWheel a go but I feel that the OneWheel product has kinda stagnated in terms of tech progress as opposed to EUCs which have been stampeding ahead in terms of range, battery and speed. If the OneWheel release new models with better range, then I'll definitely be determined to try one.

    maybe this helps? Have a S18 and a Onewheel… came off my XR 3 years ago and broke 7 ribs / nosedive. Came off my GT 1 month ago and bruised ribs and tore muscle / nosedive. (Will call that progress ) Over the same period of time I have never had a serious spill on my S18… So, all that said I am going to keep the GT and learn to ride safe(r). The S18 ride experience has conditioned me to be comfortable at higher speeds - 25-30mph over various terrains and roads conditions. When I switch t the GT I need to learn to be less complacent, slow it down overall, and adjust speed and acceleration inputs based on terrain changes - something that is not as critical on the S18. BTW, writing from VA and will be looking for an S22 from the eevee store as soon as you ship to the US!

    On the surface, it’s usual for folks to make the snowboarding vs. skiing, or skateboarding vs. skating comparison due to riding stances but to those that aren’t too familiar with current EUCs, it’s really easy to underestimate how speed, power(torque), and range changes it quite a bit. I ride both OW and EUC in different situations. I love OneWheels for that fun casual snowboard/surf/skateboard sensation. EUCs feel more like hands free standing motorcycles that can easily beat cars off the line at traffic lights and can cruise city streets at faster than their posted speed limits. It takes time to learn, but once you get it, you can fly.
    It’s skateboarding vs. motor(uni)cycling. Not sure it’s really a rivalry...that’s way too different sports.

    I started with a onewheel then switched to euc when my onewheel broke due to a light rain frying my bms. I have rode euc for over a year now and I can honestly say it was a hell of an upgrade! More speed, more range, and way more safety. The only argument onewheel community is that euc looks lame which is childish and not logical. We all know which model is superior yet there seems to be a divide because the onewheel community tries to bash euc. I saw a bunch of bullying and judgement in the onewheel community and have not experienced any negativity in the euc community

  • @frigidtsunami

    Coolness factor is negligible as that is an opinion on any PEV. OneW you float. EUC you fly. ESK8 you dive. Escoot u glide. All euphoric imo.

  • @mcfly_ev
    @mcfly_ev 2 года назад +1

    I get asked this question all the time and I don’t think they should be compared. In my opinion the Onewheel is a board I have no problem comparing it to other boards. The EUC is in a whole different category. But if you must….I’ve been on a board for over 20 years I absolutely love the feeling of carving though the woods on a Onewheel, every few months I get a wave of nostalgia and miss my Onewheel. That being said from a performance standpoint the EUC is untouchable. It’s also much safer, I have spilled my Onewheel more times than I can count (if you’re not falling at least once per ride when riding single track on a Onewheel you’re doing it wrong) I can count the number of EUC falls on my hands. At the end of the day all PEVs are dope, the more the merrier.

    I own both. I would wish the EUC was as durable as Onewheel, and I would wish the Onewheel came close to specs of the EUC. I ride about 80% EUC and 20% Onewheel. If the Onewheel, or a similar device, with solitstate batteries could triple the range and the motor of the XR, I would most likely ride that device the most.

      Car and dirt bike = gas and insurance. An EUC you can roll into a grocery store, pub, restaurant or wherever and take it just about anywhere. When it comes to convenience and long-term cost, the EUC is the most practical.

    Nothing about self esteemed but if one wants power, speed and greater capabilities then EUC is the way to go. If EUC and OneWheels where riding in a group, OneWheel will always be at the back due to their limitations. If I had to spend money my hard earned cash I would spend it on a more capable and better performing machine like EUC that has long range, can climb hills, off roading and speed. EUCs just ticks more boxes.

    Biggest flaw with the one-wheel is the price. The feeling of stoke isn't enough to justify the price tag. Most consumers go on specs anyway. Future motion may not like to admit it but they need to drop the price of their products about two or three hundred dollars. Oh, subscribed!

    Onewheel is the iPhone of EUC world, all hype no features, and a single company having a monopoly on it is somehow an advantage. "Oh, it's not more companies more choice you have, what about the phone cases though?! Don't you want a phone case? There are too many Android phones, let's just all have the same phone/onewheel. Also don't fix it yourself just buy a new one, no we don't sell spare parts for iPhone/onewheel."

      I've owned them all and the EUC rules them all (if you are willing to put in the time and effort to learn how to ride an EUC which is definitely the most difficult to learn initially). That's not saying the rest ain't worth it - they are all fun in their own way.
