Would you share your model file? I am settling up my F3A model and interested to see what curves, logical switches and special functions you use.

I think built in gyros/stabilizers in the relievers need a solution like blinkey (zero timing) mode on the esc for some rc cars classes. If the reciever flashes a LED telling the gyro function is off everyone can see that on competitions and in this mode it should not be possible to turn on/off the gyro function from the rx

Hi Kristoffer! I think it is a great idea. Maybe we need some kind of "standard" Rx and approved by the FAI for contests... an easy way to see that the gyro is off and the receiver is in FAI mode for example. Thanks for your comment!! 👍

Hello Juan, sorry to bother you. I have a question. Lately we (our clubmembers) experience a lot of 'glitches' and crashes. Everyone that has or had trouble use a major brand radio. Some others use the other big brand and claim never to have a glitch but that aside, It seems that it is not possible anymore to fly without a satellite rx or a loss of signal will occur. I was wondering with the Radiomaster tests (and currently being flown by your father I understand), do you use a satellite ? If so what do you use precisely ? Thank you.

Hey! I am sorry to hear that you are having such problems... :( During the last years we have been using Futaba with no problems. The Futaba receivers don't have any satellite... Now with the Radiomaster we are using FrSky receivers (as the radiomaster is multiprotocol and can be used with different Rx receivers) and at the moment 0 problems (fingers crossed). The receiver we are using from FrSky is the S8R. Cheers!

Hello Juan, in many sports a lot of artificial aids are banned. For instance recumbent bikes in bicycle races and in motorcar racing some electronics to help changing gears was banned. Personally I feel it should not be used. I personally would also favor a 'one design' class, like in sailing (America's cup). But I am very happy so many different and beautiful F3a planes exist :-)

Hi! I think it is normal... everything evolves super fast, and in a competitive environment this will always happen. I have never tried a stabilizer in an F3A airplane before and I was very curious to see if it is really an advantage or not, and after a couple of flights, I can say that it makes a difference in windy conditions. Of course, it is not flying for you... but it helps and we need to put some rules because it is very easy to use it when some receivers already have this option incorporated... About the "one design", I think it would be very interesting... and all the airplanes with the same paint scheme... ah! and the judges can not see who is flying... that would be very very interesting 😂. Thanks for your comment! Cheers

I doubt the purists will like stabilizers. I have been in the hobby for 45 yrs. my take: I started to tinker with gyros last year seeing them as a way to help with the very frustrating wind conditions at my new club. Never a calm day all summer. I was getting fed up. Gyro stabilizers have allowed me to fly almost every day! I don’t really use them in normal flight very much except on maneuvers that I have trouble with due to my age. I also use them taking off and landing. They certainly don’t make me a better pilot but they do make my flying more enjoyable. I did play around with a gyro on rudder many years ago to help with wind. They have also helped a little with learning more slow 3D. I use Potenza Aura open source gyros. I have been using IKON2 gyros in my Helis for a couple of years. I’m all for them in certain situations. Probably not in competition.

Very interesting! and I totally agree with how helpful the stabilizers are in windy conditions... is like flying a different airplane, or like there is no much wind anymore. I am totally OK with using this technology, especially in cases like yours, but the problem is that we have to normalize it for our contests to make it fair 😅. We will see... thanks for your comment!! Cheers

Hello Juan, any update on your opinion of the hall sensors? You mentioned your father uses this radio. I have a 32mz and my 5 year old is learning to fly. I hope to find a radio that is more light weight and cheap but also will allow him to grow with it (programming). Thanks!

Hey Daniel! As far as I know he is super happy with TX16S it is his daily TX now... He has been using it with the F3As preparing the new schedules and with the F5J gliders with very interesting trimming methods created by the community. It is very light and with a great design (same shape and size as the 18sz from Futaba) and so far, reliable... but it is too soon to say that 😅. The programming is not easy, especially at the beginning, but there are a lot of great tutorials about how to program any kind of model in the forums and RUclips. I think it is a very interesting TX and the best in the low-price range. Cheers!!

Buenos días Francisco! RUclips tiene una opción para traducir casi todos los vídeos a cualquier idioma. Aun así, lo tengo en cuenta e iremos compaginándolo con vídeos en Cristiano en el futuro 😂👍. Un saludo!
