Something I adore about Scandinavian style homes is all the WOOD. From the wide plank floors, to wood furniture, to wood on the walls. It warms the home and adds to the hygge feeling for sure!
Stunning! I agree with the separate rooms so so much. The house I grew up in had separate kitchen, dining and lounge and now I'm older and have lived in open plan living for years I'm finding myself seeking the separated areas again as I hunt for my own home to purchase. There's something really beautiful about a big, cosy, warm and inviting lounge that isn't attached to a kitchen and cooking. It makes it a place to retreat, to relax and to wind down at the end of the day and to come together as a family. Always having a kitchen in the same space feels messy and clunky and never, ever clean or cosy, no matter how spotless your kitchen is. I'm screenshotting that gorgeous house! It's the perfect inspiration!
I stumbled across your channel when I was looking for Norwegian chalet design inspiration. I grew up in Wisconsin, so I love Nordic design. My Mom’s family is from Holland mainly and my Dad’s side is English/Welsh. I LOVE anything to do about English homes, gardens and history. So when I watched your video it was a perfect! I also have to say what a good looking couple you are, and when I saw and heard your girls, my heart just melted. I am a Mom as well although my kids are grown. Love your style! I’m so happy I accidentally found your videos!
I couldn't be happier to watch this episode! Probably my favorite so far. The Scandinavian connection is close to my heart too - The AirBNB, the views, The finds🤩 The girls cracking me up 😂 both of your excitement, fun personalities, style & editing 🥰...dang. This one will be hard to beat!
I love the concrete, and the fireplace and the wood everywhere. It seems so magical to me. Im in love with it. Those are the things I think I would include in the home.
Norway is BEAUTIFUL!!! I looove all of the flowers and plants around the town and places you visited, as well as the multiple textures upon the homes shown in the latter part of the video. The exteriors are very crisp and clean looking, but also inviting, and then the inside is warm and "moody" if you will. It was cool how the airbnb you guys stayed at mixed wood and concrete. I personally would love warmer tones in my home and semiopen space, but I know you guys like things to be sectioned off a bit more and with blue hues throughout the house. Pottery is an amazing way to add to the home as it shows character and craft within every single piece. A mug wall would be a great addition to your home, especially with the tradition from England of offering guests a drink when they visit Love these videos and the intentionality you guys have!
What a dream 😍 Personally, I LOVE the white colored houses and colored doors, all the detail that makes them unique. I love the exposed wood beams and just wood in general, the white shiplap, and the concrete. I’d love concrete counters someday with exposed beams. This is such an amazing idea to build a home that’s inspired by all the places that make you, you! What a special place it will be for your kids to grow up in! ❤️
I absolutely loved the kitchen, the front door into the house, the light fixtures, and that little nook in the dining room! It just screams COZINESS!!!
The skylights in the living room are gorgeous! Brings in all that light during the day making the home feel airy and open and just imagine how the cozy feel during sunsets and the view of the moon at night 😍😍😍😍 just a little bit obsessed with that detail 😉😉
Love the concrete walls in the Airbnb! 100% recommend you adding them into your home. And I can picture your family having a yellow front door because of your adorable matching yellow rain boots and jackets!
I am a Norwegian American too. And Koslig is were it's at yo.. and YES !!! no such thing as bad weather... only bad clothes. One of the things I LOVE LOVE LOVE about Scandi culture is kids are EVERYTHING!!! Family is everything. The air b&b was made for childhood. People get cranky about kids going to IKEA but.. duh why would Swedes NOT have their kids at IKEA? The preview where you are crying made me tear up. I KNOW that when I go to Norway to meet my family, I'm going to be a hot mess. ALL the tears seriously.
So so gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see your house with all these beautiful things in it! It seems like it’s going to be really different to your last one (which I also loved and use for inspo haha) xx
I love the AirBnB, in my opinion what makes it so beautiful is the perfect light instalation and source, there aren‘t windows all over the walls, the living room was really open and bright to the outside, but the kitchen was darker, i think light is a big part of cozyness. And what I can recommend is a roof window where you can see the stars, I am fortuned to have that over the bathtub, I love it, in the airbnb they have it over the livingroom, thats even better, imagine rain on the roof window😍😊 Love you guys❤️
obsessed with this series! I really hope my husband and I can build a house some day. It is definitely on our bucket list. I love the house you stayed in. I think there is a beauty in having rooms closed a bit more like that house versus fully open like the modern home today. Maybe you all could do like a concrete fireplace and countertop to tie in that concrete look.
I loved the homes! Such a fun and cozy feeling. Had to say the windows and skylights were such a nice bonus for lighting to make it feel more open and light.
Love that Airbnb! Some of my favorite touches were the awesome skylights, and the recessed bookcase with the different colored books in them. Your home is going to be so beautiful 💛
I've always loved the open concept where your cups and plates are out on display (very Fixer/Upper) but realized once you get them you have to keep up with staying organized because it will always be visually out on display at all times. Over time our cups and plates were not coordinating and it looked a little tacky, also felt like I was putting too much of my time and effort into making sure my dish shelves were looking good (rather be focusing on other things). Just a little friendly perspective. Finally got to see the girls in Norway! Can't wait for next Sunday's video!
those little laundry bins would be great for things you don't have to wash all that often! maybe like dish towels or things that you might need to wait a week or two to have enough for a full load of!
I really LOVE all of the natural lighting, that is my go to when moving and looking at homes, how much natural light am I receiving? I love not having lamps on all day, especially during the summer. So I loved how the living room felt like a sun room almost! It was so bright!
Two take aways- use grey pavers in your outdoor spaces (maybe even the drive way) and a semi opened floor pan. I too love some separation over having it be all open.
I just found your channel and I am loving your videos. Do you know if this AirBnB is still available? I looked for quite awhile and couldn't find this exact house. I love the aesthestic and wanted to look at the room photos (and also save it on my list in case I make it to Norway again sometime soon.) I also love that you travel with your kids. I have three grown kids and my twin boys had developmental delays. We would do long roadtrips in the summer when they were younger and I always felt like I saw huge growth in their speech, as well as just a love of traveling and being together as a family. More people need to travel. Period. (Oh, and the boys are doing GREAT now and are about to graduate from high school and go to college. YEAH!! )
Ugh I love you both so much everytime I watch your videos I fall in love😍 And I LOVE Hailey’s style!! The girls are so beautiful and Lucy is so talkative for a 5 year old! Greta has such a different personality I love them both! They are growing soooo fast🤧💜💜
Omg that’s so funny, I used to tell my dad that my legs didn’t work anymore and would literally stop walking, forcing him to carry me on his shoulders. Airports, busy NYC streets with cabs whizzing by, didn’t matter. I was an anchor. Greta is AMAZING 🥰🥰🥰
I love the look of concrete walls, but any home I've seen with concrete walls seems very dark. I love how your air bnb was still so bright and cheery even with the concrete walls!
It felt very grown up, which is why I loved it. Not too perfect but highly styled. That’s hard to do. It was full of texture but only a few colors. Very stylish!
first thing i saw when you showed that radio close up: the name of my hometown - graz! what an awesome piece to add to your future home! :) absolutely loving this series. you're such an awesome family and lucy and greta are just the cutest!! lots of love from graz, austria!
Since years I am collecting ideas for my future home with the app Houzz, it‘s a great tool to do mood boards, type in moods, countrys, furniture, rooms what ever and collect ideas... highly recommend!!! ❤️
I'm kind of obsessed with all of the pots and plates being strung out along the wall! Not sure how that would work with resale value on a house, but if it's your forever home I guess it doesn't matter.
Literally this whole place is my dream home
Me too. 100%!
You can tell she is so proud of her Norwegian side
I love the light (skylights), "raw" wood floors, giant island and the rail for pots/pans and cup hooks. So very cute.
Something I adore about Scandinavian style homes is all the WOOD. From the wide plank floors, to wood furniture, to wood on the walls. It warms the home and adds to the hygge feeling for sure!

I seriously cried when Lucy tied her shoe. Swear to God I’m still wiping away tears haha!! So sweet
I love the concrete, and the fireplace and the wood everywhere. It seems so magical to me. Im in love with it. Those are the things I think I would include in the home.

I love how cozy and muted all the colors in that Airbnb are 🖤
I’m Norwegian - so cool seeing you guys travel there! Hope you had the best time :)
I`ve been waiting so long for you to take the girls to Norway🇳🇴 Hope you had a great stay! Can’t wait to watch🤩 Love from Norway🥰
Thanks so much!!
This made me want to hop on a plane to Norway ASAP! It looks so beautiful 😍 I love living vicariously through your adventures!
Ah totally need to put Norway on my family’s travel bucket list!! And yes “every day is an adventure!” Sooo true!
I absolutely loved the kitchen, the front door into the house, the light fixtures, and that little nook in the dining room! It just screams COZINESS!!!
I loved the natural light, all the cozy blankets and pillows everywhere, the mismatched chairs, and the shiplap!!
the whole house is beautiful but i especially love that room that just fills with light!! natural light just makes u feel so happy and bright
Ahhh, I think this is my favorite episode so far! That home is to die for! ♥️
I love the warm tones and wood features.. the warm lighting makes it very cozy
Greta saying “Oh. My. Dosh.” Is my favorite thing EVER
The skylights in the living room are gorgeous! Brings in all that light during the day making the home feel airy and open and just imagine how the cozy feel during sunsets and the view of the moon at night 😍😍😍😍 just a little bit obsessed with that detail 😉😉
Mari Sant I agree! It’s soooo incredible!
I absolutely love the color scheme and natural light windows on the ceiling! All the organic colors and woods make everything feel so breathable
love the cement walls and wood accents
My favorite part of the air bnb was the concrete walls! I've never been drawn to them before BUT I was super impressed how much warmth they added!
I absolutely love the sky lights, the floors, and that backyard! The whole look of that house is so unique and wonderful.
Love the concrete walls in the Airbnb! 100% recommend you adding them into your home. And I can picture your family having a yellow front door because of your adorable matching yellow rain boots and jackets!

I LOVE the windows on the ceiling in that Airbnb. Makes it feel much more open.
So so gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see your house with all these beautiful things in it!
It seems like it’s going to be really different to your last one (which I also loved and use for inspo haha) xx

That Airbnb is gorgeous, I love the kitchen!! Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with for your home!

I loved the homes! Such a fun and cozy feeling. Had to say the windows and skylights were such a nice bonus for lighting to make it feel more open and light.

I love the concrete and the mix of wood stains it looks super cohesive but is also so different!
I love how open the air bnb was and how it feels like the right space for a family

Never felt more Scandinavium before! 😀 and yes Norway is beautiful 😍 Love from Sweden 🇸🇪❤️
I love the look of concrete walls, but any home I've seen with concrete walls seems very dark. I love how your air bnb was still so bright and cheery even with the concrete walls!
I LOVE the ceiling windows and tall ceilings!
I loved the skylights in the airbnb!!
LOVE your rain jacket Hailey!! Where is it from?!
A yellow front door... yes please!!! 😍
I never would have thought concrete walls could be cozy. It definitely looks cozy and homie.
I think it has that aspect that is present in all successful designs, and that’s a mix of textures.
Love the kitchen could live in it so cozy and unique .
Love love loved this! Normally I don't like that Industrial look but that house is g o r g e o u s. So excited for what's to come for y'all!
It has such an earthy raw feeling love that home
Loved the skylight over the playroom!
I am loving this series!! And Lucy’s shoes😭❤️
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻 I love the White House blue door 😍
Wow this is literally my dream house 😍 I love all the mixing of mismatched natural fibres.
Alright I’m loving this series thanks for sharing!!!
I'm in love with the way you dress the girls!! Those vintage shoes are so delicate!
Oh my goodness the little wooden truck on the shelf! I neeeeed it!
We have a massive draw in our house that you can put dirty laundry in. It’s so great and convenient couldn’t recommend more!!
This is random but can I ask where Lucy's plaid blue dress is from? 🥰 Loved the episode! I look forward to them each week x
It felt very grown up, which is why I loved it. Not too perfect but highly styled. That’s hard to do. It was full of texture but only a few colors. Very stylish!

Did you notice that most stair cases there are not all straight? Seems like most have a turn in them😊
The skylights and fireplace are beautiful
Since years I am collecting ideas for my future home with the app Houzz, it‘s a great tool to do mood boards, type in moods, countrys, furniture, rooms what ever and collect ideas... highly recommend!!! ❤️
You ended it. Is there a video with the whole house. I love it.
I'm kind of obsessed with all of the pots and plates being strung out along the wall! Not sure how that would work with resale value on a house, but if it's your forever home I guess it doesn't matter.
This kitchen is everything
Love how they hung the pots, dishes! Also, Hailey, where did you get the stripped jump suit from the next episode?
