I am SO glad you did not stop making music after the RCA drop. Life as a Dog is one of my FAVORITE albums and what made me fall in love with your music! And MONO is an amazing creation that continued to allow us all, as listeners, to connect to that feeling of staring your discomfort in the face and breaking away from the numbness that is so tempting to drown in instead. So thank you for everything you've created because it's beautiful and I love it.

Life as a dog and everywhere is somewhere were my favorite as well. It really helped me get thru my depression and helped me explore myself emotionally. I love kflay and her music! She helped me get thru so much pain and grief. I may not he here if it wasn't for her and her songs

2 minutes in, but i had to stop and write this.. Thanks for pushing through all those difficult moments, and doing the things you've done to help people and vent some very real things and help some of us find answers along the way, which i am sure is a reflection of what you needed back then. You might think sometimes about how you're getting older and how precious your health is, and the fragility of life and what it means. Just know you have actual love and support from your fans where it matters, and you have fulfilled the meaning that you have strived to connect with, which isn't just to say you did something, but you've lived these experiences and became something awesome, and it isn't over yet. I don't idolize you, but you have a special respect and have helped me figure out some of the answers to this thing we sometimes think we're alone in. Thank you.

Wow, this is such a beautiful and honest piece of art. I’m so glad and happy and greatful I can experience your music, so happy you didn’t stop.
So happy you show us all how to be a fighter, how to stay true to yourselfes even tho someone don’t like it.
Kflay - you are the one and only. Simply the best!

Funnily enough, it was my dad that introduced me to you and your music, and he's a guitar hobbyist and musician too. I was 10, and my parents had just split up. I felt so lost, I didn't know where I belonged and was starting to seriously struggle with mental illness. Your music was both an escape, but also a beacon of hope. It's stayed that way for the last 12 years. Growing up while watching you grow too has been such a blessing. I know for a fact that I wouldn't be the person I am today without you. You ignited my passion for music, for activism and for social justice through art. You continue to inspire me daily. Every day, I wake up and see that signed purple jumpsuit hung up on my wall, and I know that this new day is a new opportunity to find joy. Knowing of your struggles, and knowing that you were able to push through them and continue doing what you love gives me so much hope. I'm in a really dark patch right now, but MONO has been pulling me through it. It came when I needed it the most, just like the rest of your music. I'm so thankful I'm on the same planet as such a wonderful human being, and that you share your art with the world. The world wouldn't be the same without you. You have undoubtedly made your mark on this earth that will stay for generations to come. Thank you, Kristine

My first K.Flay song was "No Duh" and I've followed you ever since. MONO is my favorite album - and it's the most K.Flay album that's ever existed. It seems you've really embraced the "beginner's mind" mentality you stressed on Vitamin Flay, and in that way there's a playfulness and not-giving-a-****-ness reminiscent of your very early work on releases like "Mashed Potatoes" but combined with the maturity, self-awareness, life experience, and professionalism of IV/OV. It is an absolute privilege to see what feels like the true breadth of your capabilities in such an incredibly cohesive album experience.
Thank you for the gift this album is. Thank you for being you. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

I understand why you created DNA, it is my favorite song, your best song, and I always tear up when I listen to it. I hope you’ll forgive him. You’re right about death. I have been thinking about it ever since I was boy. I’m scare of it, but I’m praying to God to help to overcome my fears. Thank you for being wonderful. Goodnight.

Thank you for sharing your story. It inspires me a lot to hear that being signed isn't necessarily all it's cracked up to be and that ultimately it led to you being right back in your bedroom and that's where you found yourself and success. I've been in a bedroom making music my entire life, for so many years discovering who I am and the past few years have been me grappling with do I make EDM or do I spend more time to dig into grunge/rock/songwriting to see if that's where I really want to be. Lately I've realized that I'm both, electronic music I've been producing my whole life and that will always be a big part of my music and myself. However no one said I can't combine the two together in a strong way that fits me.
I'm 25 now so I don't really worry about being signed or having success the way I used to growing up. Now I just kind of make music and work on as much as I can for myself and my own happiness. Ultimately if I'm not happy with what I'm making, then there is no point. We set these insane goals of "Greatness" and being signed, but that can kind of cause you to forget what it's all about. Your music always reminds me what it's about, and K.Flay inspires me beyond anyone else to remind me that I have time, and I can create exactly what I want and one day it will be great in my own form of that.

I can't be in the moment like you are bc it hurts. It is powerful to not need anything. I quit using needles in 2010. But I am so not clean. I wish you were my friend or anyone at all was my friend. Im stuck in my perpetual hell of borderline personality disorder combined with my addictions...my dad called me every birthday...I couldnt spend time with him because he was schizophrenic as well...I miss him so much. Our last conversation was awful. He was a music lover. He had a beautiful voice...I always wanted to make music too.

i'm just gonna cut to the chase. i am pretty sure that if we cross paths someday, somehow, we will both come out of it wholeheartedly glad to have met one another.
i guess i should probably take the first step and figure out if you ever get on here to do live chats...
the new album rocks. i enjoyed life as a dog, but didn't realize that you had put out anything else before or after that, til just a few weeks before mono. so when mono dropped, i was already fully immersed in your catalog and listening to mostly you on a daily basis. it has picked me up at a time when it feels like the rest of the planet has mostly let me down.
i respect the heck out of you and i love your music. and you're fucking beautiful too, by the way, no matter what you wear or how you do your hair.
i'd like to drop you my phone number right here right now but i'd get spammed, i'd get dogged on by other fans, and besides, i think i already said too much. fun facts: i am three days older than you, my brother/best friend has been mono since early childhood, and i'm also too shy, but i'm a lot less chi. my nois aint even ill. hey midwest, hit me up next time you're headed northwest. i wanna be your sister. but not blood related, so... ... ... ;)

    • @420gzuz

i should warn you, though... i'd be the sort of sister who's actually a mister.

and the reason that i'm all forward and whatnot is because i have found truth in the belief that we DON'T live forever, and all we have is here and now, and if we play our cards right, the future is worth believing in.

4-5 years ago, i got really really sick. 3-4 years ago, i got misdiagnosed. months later, got re-diagnosed and informed that i was almost dead.
2 years ago, a condition was added to my diagnosis... the condition, according to the fucking internet, has a survival rate of 50% at 2 years in. i am still here and more aspects of my health SEEM TO BE improving...
      the randomness of everything, though!
nobody has been able to figure out WHAT CAUSED severe damage to my heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, possibly brain, possibly meat and bones, etc.
good music is some powerful medicine. i kinda sorta owe you my life, to some degree.

    • @sunny-gt7qw
      @sunny-gt7qw 4 месяца назад +1

wtf is this? K flay isnt your friend. She doesn’t know who you are and isn’t going to be friend a random fan. Instead of trauma dumping in the RUclips comments, you need to go to therapy. This is such a weird take to have towards a stranger. You don’t even know who she is; none of us do because she’s an artist, not someone who is trying to be your friend. This is just peak parasocial creepy behavior. She’s never going to see some random, creepy dude in the comment section and decide to hit you up. also if some random artist “saved” your life, then you have MUCH bigger issues. this seems like it’s written by someone who would become a crazed stalker if you’re not already one. Seek help
Also she did NOT save your life through her music. you sound like you are very sick, near death if what you say is true. You thinking that a stranger “saved your life” through their music is just sad. I feel for your diagnosis; I also have chronic severe health problems and multiple diseases that will end my life early but I would honestly be upset if I was an artist and saw this comment on my videos. Don’t put your health on her shoulders.
