Hey man love your videos, super informative. I only recently got into the game and the thing I’m struggling the most with is board positioning. I’ll be winning against someone, they switch up their positioning and I suddenly start losing. Got any general advice?
Not sure if I have overly general advice. But I'll try and name a few things. Besides givens like ranged units in the back and tankier melee units at the front, there are a few tips to use. For instance, I like to put the tankiest units I have in the middle, this area sees the most action and gets the most targets, so my strong carry/damage units I like to put towards the edge so they are less likely to be doubled up on. Scouting your opponent is important too, seeing where their carry units are so you can set up yours to target those sections, or place walls in front of them to stall them as your stronger units flank around dispatching their weaker ones from the edge towards the center. Also, I tend to sometimes stick a carry unit one space back with no one in front of them so they have to walk up to the front line, this can help them avoid being targeted immediately and allow another unit to sponge hits first. Some ranged units have AOE, so also be mindful of where you group your units and if you should space them out to avoid a nuke that can wipe them out, notably Kyogre, Duosion, Drizzile to name a few that can wipe a large swath if not careful, even if you should have the edge, I.E. Use a V pattern for Kyogre, avoid a box formation for duosion, and avoid everyone being lined up between Drizzile and your farthest unit from it. I'm thinking of doing a positioning guide, but a brief 5 min one as a comprehensive on has been done already. Sometimes trial and error is the best way to learn to, if you are losing, move them around and see what sticks.
I typically don't like to go flame orb unless it pairs with fluffy tail or is on a wild unit, I don't think the damage from the poplio line would have been enough to justify it, but it is a good point. And you are right, units with global moves like Chimeco, Articuno, Loudred, really like the Nomicron and can do a lot of damage with it! I just slammed Chime with items early in a panic not to lose the game early.
Because it does not have the same passive as Chimecho, I would not lean towards the sound comp as my main comp since you scale a lot slower in comparison. I honestly could have used it in place of the legendary in this one for sound 6 and some normal team comp still. I typically use it, but I don't lean on it as a major contributor unless I have mana items and Pokemonomicon to go with it, but even then, you will be playing at a disadvantage and I would look to utilizing sound as a secondary synergy, say running full normal and some sound.
It's been a bit of a ride lately, and was a product of many things. Work ramped up and it's been a busy month with the fam, I also was trying to be more ambitious with content that I never got to complete. It didn't help that a majority of the available time I had was from substituting sleep which was taking a toll. I just wasn't able to handle it, but right now I'm trying to play the game more and get back to where I was before I fell off.

If I get Chatot, Should I go for Meloetta or should I pick another damage dealer? My damage feel underwhelming somehow, No issue like this happen when I got Chimecho
Probably another damage dealer, sound might not be your main synergy at that point and use sound 4 as a support synergy for your main one. Sound just scales a lot slower in a match without Chimecho, so the return on fully committing to 6 sound is not as great with Chatot. Probably worth the meme potential with confusion and using other units that also confuse or capitalize on that, but I haven't used it lol
@@TheGrapplingNinja For the sound comp? In this synergy I would say AP as you want the team to use their abilities as much as they can, therefore AP would be more useful on certain carry units.
@@TheGrapplingNinja Depends what stats and also what items you have on hand. Really most units can go both ways, just try not to mix both AD and AP items on a unit, typically I go attack speed and AD together, and AP and PP/mana together. Ill use some Ultra units as examples of what I would do: Solosis -> AP (High AP damage), Pawniard -> AD (High attack, Ability scales with attack), Numel -> AP (low attack and strong ability), Buneary, Electrike, Sewaddle -> Both AD or AP depending on items, they have high attack and strong abilities

I love the use of text on the side to explain certain choices or item preferences, really helps with understanding
I'm glad it's helpful!
Great vid. Love the sound synergy even if it is tough to get together
I love this comp for the high ceiling and low floor, it's boom or bust and doesn't go stale to run over and over for me
Had you in my lobby yesterday and knew i was doomed. Love your vids! You taught me a lot (i was a jirachi playing ground, came in 2nd to you).
@@Akg123Videos Thank you :)
Loved the video, what a great comp and amazing item distribution. Keep them videos coming my man, you are killing it!
Thank you!

Missed opportunity to go flame orb with sound + popilo. Would have been insane damage
Edit: 30:18 isn’t that insane on chimecho??

How do you feel about the whismur line in sound as a makeshift chimecho esq. carry? Would it see play if you didn't get poplio as a hatch unit?

Im having trouble seeing what carries are Ability power and what are physical
