I feel you about the team's t-sides about these nervous decisions like not using necessary utility. And to be calm in the most stressful situations. So I agree that some changes have to be done asap. As you noticed and as I watched in old Gambit videos, Groove has a powerful voice in all this online era -- for myself I found a dependency of how nafany performs on overall teamplay. The most bright example for me was this 1 kill or smth like that vs Astralis in Cologne, just horrible. On one hand, a new igl (all you have listed in video are good) but the team needs to find this chemistry again which can or can't happen, for me it is like a gamble -- we could win everything or completely ruin the team (not so dramatically but hope you got it xD) On the other hand, I do like Astralis and Team Spirit approaches -- they has a good sport phycologist who took care about their mentality. It would be nice to hire one to help nanfany and the others to find their rhythm without Groove hanging on the mic constantly. Or the specialist with analyst can figure out that or this player is a weak part and what should be changed, without any bias. I know, I am biased because I love this roster -- these guys brought me into the cs:go world xD. I feel I need to say sorry for my english, What a great podcast, Thank you for your opinion! p.s Imo, de_over was the safer choice that de_vertigo because the players were sure in their ct-cide, but maybe overestimated themselves...
Thanks for the compliment an listening! Your point about the chemistry is valid. My initial thought on that is by keeping the 4 though, slotting in 1 shouldn't break the chemistry a ton as long as the IGL is committed to grooves system. They will still know how to play off each other and everything. The sports psychologist could work, but also there are just some people who just get frantic in pressure moments and some who live inside them. Know what I mean? I love this roster too. Thats amazing that they brought you into csgo! Thats super fun and what a great roster to have that happen with. They are very interesting to follow and seem to have personalities from what I can understand.
@@C9WIN , got your point -- I can't judge about nafany and would understand any changes. However, as a mathematician (sort of), I would see some analytics (from a psychologist) before making decisions, and I feel it should something not about numbers
Ya, I got you for sure. Could make a big difference potentially. Is an important and difficult decision for the team whichever route they choose. (sorry for delayed response)
Great video! Do you have any thoughts on the veto vs. MOUZ in the quaterfinal? Personally I thought vertigo should have been the pick of C9, it's historically a great map for them, and the lowest win rate for MOUZ. In 2021 you couldn't touch this team on vertigo (38-6 record), so it feels extremely weird they went away from it, especially because they are by no means a bad team on the map, the HEROIC game showcased they still got it in them.
Thanks! Good question. I was kinda surprised about vertigo as well. My thoughts would be that we had been playing overpass a lot, and with good success (except for T sides). So, maybe it was just feeling comfortable? Also, Overpass has been one of this lineups best maps as well. So, maybe they either saw something they thought they could punish or they were just feeling good on it. Honestly should have won the map if we don't lose to pistols twice.
C9 vs GH shouldnt have gone to OT. It should have ended in regulations in C9's favor. Not saying that GH is a weak team or anything but C9 was supposed to beat GH with little to no issue. I was very shocked that the game was dragging out to that extent. The GL game was really whonky as that window midair HS swung the game into C9's momentum and I sometimes wonder what would had happened if that HS didnt hit. I feel a bit gutted that C9's major run ended at the QF in the playoff. Given the circumstances, it should have been a smoother route to the Finals but Mouz was playing better CS on that day. Do you think that they should let someone in the team to be the IGL instead of replacing Nafany entirely? Maybe Hobbit or Sh1ro can take up the role (more on Sh1ro since he was very vocal during timeouts) Or they can do what Torqued used to do, one IGL on CT side and another IGL on T side.
Ya, gutted is a great way to put it haha. I did have the thought of maybe Hobbit. I would not want shiro because he needs to be the 3rd best player in the world. We can't have him using a single ounce of energy calling imo. And I think we need a dedicated IGL. We have the best rifler in the world, the 3rd best awper, a fantastic support in interz, we just need someone to shore up the mistakes I think.
@@C9WIN I think the team has everything it needs. Not sure if Nafany needs to have a reset in terms of his IGL calls or what but I really hope the team can stick with the current roster because I do enjoy their dynamic. Hopefully they can work something out to make the team more consistent especially against lower ranked opponents. Hope you do more of these videos in the future :D
Oh I will for sure! And Ya I feel you. I like the team a lot, and I like nafany, but just trying to be a little subjective and there just has been a lot of issues. So, we will see what happens (my guess is nothing)!
