However, handling hog waste has raised challenges in meeting new air and water quality requirements.       Those lagoons are secondary methane producers when the bacteria chomp down.

      @@andyh7537 the carbon from just having a sess pool that sprays water vs these tubes is 10 fold a difference. The foot print is still there, the out put is not as high

      Over the entire scale, they estimated that the carbon footprint of pork for every kg (~2.2 lbs) of pig carcass weight has an emissions intensity of 6.1 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent.

      - The collected biogas from the pig waste can be burned to generate electricity, which would otherwise have likely been generated by coal or natural gas.
      - As seen in the video, the solids from the waste are collected instead of being thrown into the environment.
