I'm down in Holiday, Fl.A renter(unfortunately)...fam and i have lived in our house for 1.5 yrs & had a small leak, fixed problem and the water company has always been fine with me handling the bill(landlords name on bill) but my name was put somewhere in the system. I talked to them Friday after sending the receipt via email (per their request!) - this lady I spoke with absolutely wouldn't talk to me about the adjustment to the account even tho I spoke to a certain employee (and have several times throughout living here) BUT this lady on Fri said since my name didn't show up on a pop-up she couldn't talk with me. I can prove everything BUT SHE STILL INSISTED my ĺandlord call. The reason I have to do this?

Here the rental laws are written to protect the tenant (thinking from awful landlords).
There need to be specific laws written for short term lease properties/vacation rentals. There probably is here since there are so many shore towns.

But turning off the hot water, WiFi, cable, if gas (no ability dry clothes, use the oven/stove), maybe even turn off the water altogether so they have to leave to do wash. Then lock them out.
They’re taking advantage. But the court can force them to pay for the rental time they’ve accrued, legal fees, and court fees.
Obviously this was planned. Being evicted will hurt their ability to rent in the future.
Ron is actually very good. He is a pinellas kid and served in military. And he does listen to suggestions. His ambition can sometimes push him too far. Better to be a big fish in a small pond.

Lot of these problems don't exist.
It sounds like they tried to use the Landlord / Tenant Law. Anyone who stays somewhere for Thirty day or more you are considered a tenant. This is why many Hotels and Motels will not rent you a room longer than twenty-seven days. At least in California this is how it used to be.

A friend of mine was in Panama last week and someone was fishing were everyone was swimming and caught a shark. A pretty good size, and another shark was close by waiting it. It caused a little ruckus with the people that were swimming.
I took marine biology in High School and later as an adult worked making vids for Fish and game. You learn.

Prayers for the shark attack victims, that's crazy how there's been that many already! But, ya, people fishing near swimmers, is a pretty crappy thing to do. Whether it's legal or not, how about common sense and concern for the swimmers maybe? Good grief... 🙄
& I've heard of that with people who stay more than 90 days, even with a written "term" . It's some kind of ridiculous legal "loophole" of some kind because I'm pretty sure it's not a "law", but I've watched legal shows where these situations happened and the "squatters" at this point, ends up benefiting more than the Owner (obv) but it's another crappy thing that can happen when ppl just wanna " Be A-Holes" more or less!

Generally when it is Sharking season there will be a flag up for shark. As a kid you akso have Dolphin season. I was knocked down by one coming in when I was two and I stopped running into the water after pop pulled our anchor up onto shore. I kearned my lesson.

I walked 6 miles a day on the beach everyday and the things and fanged fish creatures I saw washed up everyday - no fing way am I going in the ocean 😂
I’ll walk on the beach and go to ankles and splash myself but that’s it
