I see you flip between a different complete drawing, was this a commissioned redraw? Or was that a super freakin detailed thumbnail
No, the other image you're seeing is just my thumbnail sketch! I always do one for each scene I do so I can work out the colors, posing, composition and such before actually starting. ^^

I keep getting this question, but I never know how to respond because doing a background tutorial is basically impossible for me. Backgrounds aren't just one aspect of an illustration, it IS the illustration so you can't make a quick little tutorial about it and be done lol.
The closest thing I'd probably get to that would be speedpaints like this but with me explaining my process. I want to try a video like that someday for patreon maybe, but not sure it'll work out cause I hate recording my voice. :'D

I’ve been saving up for a commission from you and I was wondering since I would want to add characters to the piece would some characters who could be shadows or background characters with no color still cost extra or not? By the way lovey piece here!
If the BG characters are just silhouettes then I'd count them as background elements instead of individual characters, so it wouldn't cost extra. ^^

Is there an average amount of time you spend on drawings? That just sounds like a LOt of drawing if you spent 8-10 on every piece. Thanks so much! c:
Thank you! c: That's about the average time I spend on simple scenes like this. ^^ Smaller illustrations/drawings are usually 6 or less hours and detailed scenes can take up to 15 to 20 hours.

Also what brush do you use for leaves? Did it come with the program? Did you buy it? Or make it yourself? And the grass one too, those would be very helpful
I made the leaf brush myself because I wanted something that'd be better for blocking and easy to paint over haha. The grass was mostly just painted by hand using kyle's brushes.

I have to say I love seeing the amount of reference images you have open. I'm still in that phase of recovering from being told "Never use references!!!" so it's super helpful to see someone as accomplished and skilled as you using them

Thanks! I made the leaf brush myself, mostly because I needed something to make blocking easier that worked with my painting style. ^^
