To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Antonioni's iconic film Blow-Up, the team behind Fashion & Cinema - a series of events, on-stage conversations and screenings exploring the relationship between fashion and cinema - bring together legendary actress Vanessa Redgrave CBE and photography expert and Deputy Chairman of Christie's Philippe Garner, co-author of the book Antonioni's Blow-Up. The film shaped understandings of contemporary fashion photography and shocked with its portrait of London in the swinging sixties, casual sex, drugs and rock’n’roll. Director Antonioni consulted local journalists to help build a picture of the lifestyle of the most fashionable young photographers. David Hemmings's character is a composite of elements that reference David Bailey, Terence Donovan, David Montgomery and John Cowan, whose studio became a principal set.

JULIA (1977) with Jane Fonda is my favorite film. But Vanessa Redgrave's performance as Julia shines in a film filled with great performances. Set in the 1930's, the themes of anti-fascism and friendship, art and theater are blended to perfection. It captures the plight of a writer, Lillian Hellman/Fonda, as she struggles with her first play. We see Hellman walking on the beach and in the background the turbulent ocean waves are churning like the thoughts in her head. The apogee is the fraught scene between Hellman and Julia in a Berlin tavern as Hellman smuggles in cash for anti-Nazi activities, and while Fonda is excellent, Fonda said Redgrave's performance was on an entirely elevated level.

26:29 I know this sounds silly but, as a movie location aficionado, I was disappointed by this remark.
Maryon Park is one of my favourite film locations.
It's in London and Vanessa Redgrave, who lives in London, didn't even know if it still exists.
It would have taken ten seconds to find the answer online, if she was interested.
    But I guess she isn't.

This guy needs to stop interrupting her. And when she starts to remember something, he needs to quit changing subjects and let her elaborate SMH
