- I Ace and collect all of the single-player Goodies in the "Boom Town" level.
The game is starting to get more difficult now that we have reached "The Canyons". The sections involving the Jetpack and Impact Explosives as well as the section involving the Orange Bird Sticker Switches are the biggest threats to Acing the level. (Though it is not shown in this video, since it would involve dying, misplacing an Orange Bird Sticker causes a row of Impact Explosives to fall and kill anyone nearby. I completed that sequence while Acing the level to add another layer of challenge for myself, but I highly recommend that you do it on repeat playthroughs so that dying isn't such a big deal.)
A number of Goodies are hidden behind various objects in this level, so make sure to look and jump behind objects and scenery to make sure you've gotten everything that you can.
When you're passing the thrusting stalactites while carrying an Impact Explosive, I highly recommend trying to stay low. That way, you decrease your chances of accidentally swinging the carried Explosive into one of the wider portions of the stalactites.
Is it me or are they doing something funky in that heart in the beginning
yeah indeed remember that i died 15 times for the first playthrough
wow this level was hard
yo bro. how do you get the stickers inside of the bank?
My guess is that it's the Red Wood Material. Check 0:56, and note that you have to jump while behind the cactus to get both things there.
ive aced all levels and collected 99% of the goodies.... all im missing is 1 GODDAMN ITEM FROM HERE AND I CANNOT FIND IT (on the item viewing menu its the item between the Colonial Door and Ringmaster Trousers) any help here people?
Does anyone know how to get the goodies inside the bank?
Yeah, it's a real ass-kicker the first time around.
@1Ericonda First Half:
The geologic eroticism was unintended, but it's pretty funny now that you mention it.
I'm glad my guide has been of use to you. Regarding "making it look easy", I think that appearance is deceptive. I really went out of my way to record a good single recorded take of many harder levels. To do that, it occasionally took multiple attempts over the span of an hour or two or three. In this case, the Orange Bird Sticker Switch section was one constant source of frustration.
@1Ericonda No worries. I understood it as a suggestion, not a demand.
Boom Town was nothing in comparison with some other levels. If I did live recordings of my experiences of The Mines or Endurance Dojo, for example, it would just be me gritting my teeth until the end where there would be a sigh of relief or weary cheer.
As for your question, there's an option in the start menu to make a backup file. I just saved before the level to be recorded and loaded up the file if I failed my take.
@superherodog4 Yeah, The Canyons (and Boom Town in particular) can be really rough.
I hated the co-op as well, as you pretty much only get one chance per playthrough to get it right (unlike most other challenges).
You're welcome.
God I hate this level with a passion...
The Meerkat Kingdom.
@1Ericonda Second Half:
I used to incorporate commentary in my videos similar to the "Let's Play" style of walkthrough. I would either record it as I was playing or do it after-the-fact. The first option worked well, but it (among other things) slowed pacing and it was annoying (and less funny) to redo commentary if something went wrong with the video. The second option provided a whole host of different problems.
Audio commentary is not out of the question, but for now I prefer text.
@kwiki24 It's in the first x2 co-op challenge area.
@NoRegretsFanB0Y Glad you liked it.
@NoRegretsFanB0Y I'm assuming you didn't watch until 2:58 then, as I specifically go back to get everything in that area once I got the items on top of the Bank.
@IGIPNP
It was definitely a wish and not a complaint. Just to make sure I didn't sound like I was being negative. I can only imagine how "take 463 of boomtown" would pose plenty of live recording problems. I'm sure, for one, the excitement in your voice would have vanished some 461 tries ago. Ha.
One question, probably an easy answer I just can't think of, but how do you retry each level every time you fail without it counting the "goodies" as already collected.
@IGIPNP Ok, i got them. Thanks a bunch buddy :D 100% in Canyons now.
@UnR3aLlGam3R Part 41 of my guide explains two different methods of getting to those Bubbles. One involves the regular co-op method, and another can be done with a single player.
I'm not sure you can actually move back there, as I just hopped around on that "middle" layer and still got all the items in the general area. Holding the left thumbstick up should work if it is possible though.
thnx bro
Part 41 will show you two different ways.
@Cuymenq Behind the cactus at 0:56.
@ARPlaying Thanks!
There is something strangely arousing about the way you referred to the moving rocks as "thrusting stalactites".
I have, thus far, aced every level thanks primarily to you and am now in the process of collecting. I only wish I could make one portion of this look as easy as you make it all together seem.
The only wish that I have is that you'd add commentary to your videos. It keeps my attention during the long sessions of endless bouncing. I hope you're not mute. I'd look like a real jerk.
Where is it #65
at 2:54 how do you move back while your jumping? everytime I try I end up on the same side
@TobiasWins4 Part 41 shows you two different methods for that.
Were do you get the chick sticker from please help!!
