The look on Niao Niao's face when the General is publicly praising her is like watching a wilting flower being watered. No one, not even her former fiance has ever said such beautiful and true things about her let alone done so in front of the Emperor and all the royal family and her own parents to boot.
WOW, that was an amazing very public confession from General Ling Buyi, he even cut off Madam Cheng when she attempted to stop him from confessing. He is so straightforward and frank. I love the smile he directs at Shaoshang, looking at her straight.
Even the Emperor was indignant on behalf of Shaoshang. He knew how many women wanted General Ling and he never blinked nor asked for any of their hands in marriage. For him now to chose a woman, no matter what anyone said, the Emperor knew it was going to be a battle as he knew his adopted son's personality.
Third prince is sneaky AF. He looks like he's antagonizing Zisheng but he's really helping him out! By poking the bear that is their father's pride and love for Zisheng and hoelw people view his favorite adopted kid.
one of my favourite scenes in this drama, ling declares his absolute unwavering love for his woman, she had to endure humiliation from her own mother belittling her in front of everyone, saying she wasn’t good enough for General Ling, yet he sees the wonderful qualities that she possesses, beauty, brains, wit, and a fierce loyalty that will make her a wonderful wife and life partner for him. Infact all those qualities make her attractive to so many other men. Love that the Emperor , Empress and Consort also love and support their marriage.
Love how he set Madam Cheng straight by saying don't cut me off . The Emperor sounds like a game show host with too much excitement. Niao Niao seemed shocked by Ling Bu Yi only wanting her as his wife 😉
The "please don't cut me off" had such a volcanic undertone, like "you've already said enough bad shit about your own daughter to piss me off, don't push your luck" :D

A young woman who thought she was worth nothing but in fact is absolutely priceless to our favourite General. When you have a safety net under you you can be who you were always meant to be. Neither one of them have felt love from anyone neither one of them had a good start in life. Neither one of them would have ever been happy with anyone else. Soul mates are connected through heart strings they come in all guises friend siblings but the one that is the most powerful is the LOVE of two people who are meant to be. I love this couple and the fact that she was only 15 she is phenomenal I would give anything to see their wedding with the Emperor involved he truly out of them all wanted them together.
I loved, Love and will continue to Love the "Love like the Galaxy" Series! I will have a hard time getting over it! I will probably never "get bored" of her! I'm already watching it for the 6th time and believe me, it will continue! What to admire and what to remember first! The excellent background music; The highly professional and accomplished Director Fei Zhen Xiang; The wonderful television couple of the protagonists, Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Xi, with the awesome and unique chemistry between them; The great cast of actors as a whole; I honestly don't know what to distinguish and what to first admire! Well done to All who worked to Produce this Epic, Masterpiece Series that will go down in the annals of Television Production History! Such love and Globally now, another Series and another TV Couple of Protagonists, a Couple with a great appeal to the Public like Lei-Lei and Lucy, will not exist again, at least in the short Future! Personally, the scene in the 6th episode when Chi Sheng/ Ling Bu Yi, sees the face of Shao Shang for the first time and is dazzled, is the first of my most beautiful scenes in the Series! Especially Chi Sheng's highly romantic words "Love forever at first sight" make me "melt like wax" as we say! It is also the scene of the marriage proposal, in the 24th episode where Chi Sheng says that for him there is no other woman better in the World! Another woman to be innocent and brave together! A woman who loves and hates with the same passion! And where he says that he will not marry another woman in his life but Shao Sang, there I literally "turn off"!!!
Very well said, for NN to have to listen to her mother quite literally humiliate her in front of everyone was just heartbreaking, yet she has so many incredible strengths and Ling has seen that and he believes in her and has fallen in love with her because of that. NN too has seen Ling for the incredible person that he is too, they have belief in each other when they have both grown up without that love and support. This scene was absolutely beautiful and wonderfully written. And the Emperor fiercely rooting for them both was heartwarming aswell.
We all understand why her mother downgraded and humiliated her in public. Marrying into that family can be murder..literally. Dangers everywhere and Shaoshang was ignorant and so young. Don't underestimate Ling Buyi and his fascination and adoration of Niao Niao though. This warrior had found his mate and won't let her go. They are united by blood, sweat, and tears from the past, present, and future. It's breathtaking to see that love zing in their eyes when they see each other. Even when they are separated their hearts are still united. I have such respect and admiration for Ling Buyi as he doesn't allow himself to be played, especially by the ladies. You might say he finds them repugnant and loathes their presence so he won't be found in ambiguous situations with other women. They have a tacit understanding that they belong together and won't play those silly jealous games like other couples in dramas. I appallingly have found MLs from bad Asian dramas that lie, cheat, steal, and humiliate/demean/betray their partners that they leave such a rotten taste in my mouth that I have to come back to LLTG clips to restore my faith in love. True love is possible and we should never throw/ give it away because you will never get it back, I don't care what the other dramas endings say. This drama is on my hit list for one of my favorites. What we won't do for love.
Both of these series are amazing. I love them both, despite Love like the Galaxy is a bit sadder. Now I have finished watching xianxia drama called Love between Fairy and Devil and I still can't go on. Beautiful, romantic story, wonderful music and it is played so well! Must watch! This is technically a forced married from the outside looking in but regardless of what it looks like ling buyi will not let the oppotunity of marrying shaoshang slides away. He fully awares of her family's fear of his frightening reputation and cold temperament, especially Shaoshang's initial resentment and reluctance after accepting the proposal which he's gonna work on in the future. The man is willing to do everything as long as he has her.
He waited to long 1st time and she became engaged to Yao Lao, when she came to his mansion to thank him for saving her I think he wanted to talk to her but then youn shanjian brought crown prince with him just to keep her away from Ling Buyi so this time he wasn’t missing his chance.

Every time I watch this episode, I cried buckets. Even if she wants to protect the family/clan, as a mother, she should not have trampled her daughter's self-esteem. Especially in that conservative society, with that kind of testimony, her daughter would be devoid of any marriage prospects and possibly have no other choice but to either be a nun or a concubine. That is too bloody cruel. It is so painful to see her clenching her fists, swallowing her pride, and agreeing with her mother that she is "worthless" 😭

Her parents left her with her grandmother on the day she was born in order to go to war, and didn't come back for almost 15 years. She was raised by the outrageously stupid grandmother and a malevolent aunt, so her mom always thinks the worst of her, and never sees her true character. It's heartbreaking, and a big factor in the female lead's action and character.

Yes, the General is Very good, and other high level families really want him to marry their daughters. I think there are several reasons why her parents are against the match, including: 1. His social status is several levels above their family. Meaning if she marries him, she will have no real strength in the marriage, like to stand against him (when and if needed) even on ordinary day to day issues, let alone serious ones. 2. He is SUPER close to the Emperor, not just an adopted son, but one of the high officials on whose strength and action the whole nation depends. Meaning he (and his wife) will always be involved with court intrigues and power struggles; life threatening stuff. 3. He is the hatchet man of the Emperor. Meaning he scares the sh*t out of them. 4. His family situation (dad, mom, and step mom) is extremely messed up. Meaning his wife's home life will always be trouble filled and contentious. 5. They already asked her if she liked him, and she said she didn't. Meaning they think she herself is against the idea of marrying him. 6. She has had no education in either manners or book learning. Meaning she has no idea how to do things like write, run a household, or hold a decent conversation, and her behaviour would probably bring disgrace or even punishment upon their family. (And this was in a place and time where your personal and family 'face' was perhaps more important than your life.) Reason #6 is what they tell the Emperor in this scene. Later, her parents tell her ALL of these reasons are why they objected to the marriage. However, her mother later admits that she would probably NOT have objected to marriage, if he had asked to marry her cousin/sister (a person who HAD learned manners and book knowledge). Meaning only Reason #6 was of real importance. Given that earlier her mother had actually encouraged her to romantically 'go after' the General, I think her mother's real issue is that she doesn't like what she thinks is her daughter's disrespectful attitude and bad morals. She doesn't want to reward bad behavior. Of course, we the audience know that her mother has very much misunderstood her, and that the two of them are actually very much alike in a number of ways. But her mom is still harder on her daughter than on anyone else in the family, and doesn't mind publicly destroying her daughter's reputation to the point that no one would EVER offer marriage to her again.
