The Dracula musical scene in the bar is one of my most-beloved cinematic scenes of all-time. The vulnerability and raw pain of Peter mixed with the transformation of Rachel’s perspective of Peter while he sings… just breathtaking. The look on Rachel’s face as she suddenly realizes her life is about to change…
When Jason was promoting the movie, he did the complete Dracula song on the Late Late Show with Craig Freguson as the musical guest. Just search RUclips for 'Craig Ferguson Dracula's Lament' and you should be able to find it. It's really quite good.
That mockumentary would be gold. Jason seems like such a down to earth guy, I'm happy to see him succeed. Even my dad was telling me a couple of days ago he liked 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' n how he finds Jason to be pretty funny. I mean for my dad to say that, that's a huge endorsement imo lol
I don't know your dad but I believe you. Whenever someone is like "For my dad to openly like something is a big deal" you can picture exactly what their dad is like.
Love this guy. Sort of actor you feel you could just hang out with. Get the impression he's not putting on any persona for the camera. Don't you just want to give him a hug?
For everyone who doesn't know, it was Linda Cardellini who dumped him when he was naked. They dated for several years after the cancellation of Freaks & Geeks.
It is with great pride that I can say I'm an extra in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. When it came out, I met some friends to go see it, and one of them joked, "There better not be any naked dudes in this." I said, "There's no way." Oh, how I was wrong. Still one of my all-time favorite comedies.
Loved Rudd's surfer dude in FSM: "I'm going to give you a Hawaiian name... Peepyopee!" or "Oh the weather outside is weather..." and so many other great lines! 😆
By the sum of his parts he is just a man. With what he does with those parts he becomes so much more. He may not fit society's definition of a hero but he is the hero I needed. The hero who helped me overcome the disaster of my failed almost marriage and get back into the game. He lives in the shadows. Is he a dream? Truth? Fiction? Damnation? Salvation? He is all these things and none of them. For he is ... The Naked Man.
look how quick Conan is with the laugh at 3:45 - it's just a beat and he's on it with the perfect "medium laugh" one-word. he ties it together so effortlessly, and it's only a "sorta funny" line. I think Conan's perfect for that. rarely does he get you into stitches, he's just constantly mid-funny. it sounds like a total dis but it isn't. not at all. it's what makes him so appealing. he's always there. he's a constant presence. and we need that.
If you haven't seen his improv skills on the bloopers of the shower scene from season 2 of How I Met Your Mother, please do. Tells you everything you need to know about his brilliancy en
Man, ...Forgetting S.M. was so legendarily damn good that hundreds of other movies were inspired from its amazing authenticity for sure... sending surprise love to all of you genius funny chaps on this fine cold golden morning. To me Sarah Marshall is a good comedy for a certain point. I catch it maybe ever 2 to 3 years and really like it. If the time it right it fits the bill perfectly.
I thought it was kinda fairly well known that the girlfriend was Linda Cardellini? cause he seems to be sort of actively not saying her name. though granted, I don't know what the state of things is between them now, he could just be going around it out of respect to her. and that's fair, it's not like an ID is essential to the story. But like the irony was his character on F&G when he dated her character and he became kinda overly obsessed with her in the story so they broke up, and what I remember hearing a lot of at the time is when they dated in real life, he got a bit too clingy for her comfort and they broke up. Not that I'm sure I could blame him, Linda Cardellini in Freaks & Geeks was like a Phoebe Cates of the new millennium lol She still looks amazing to this day and is a great actress

@@sammyhill93 Yeah, the song is even better with a full band.
I watchedit again yesterdayand I completely agree!
Reminds me of “Somebody Kill Me, Please” from Wedding Singer. 😊
This was such a great interview, Jason Segel was a riot and seems like a very intelligent and introspective person.
It’s because he is.
He's genuinely sincere.
He writes books now.
He's about as genuine as someone gets. Lol. He's basically a you get what ya see guy
So basically, Jason did a "Naked Man" from HIMYM. Lmao. This episode was awesome.
It works 2 out of 3 times!

"Peter you suck!! Peter you suck!! See a psychiatrist! I'm not going!" Hahaha one of my favorite moments of that movie.

Yeah the little argument he has with himself during the song always gets me
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of my all time favorite movies. It is brilliant. I've seen it dozen plus times

Oh PLEASE release more Dracula musical. As a fellow lover of both vampire mythos AND puppets it is right up my alley! ❤ Jason is brilliant!
This episode/interview was great. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of my all-time favorites. Such a good one.
“Forgetting Sara Marshall” and I “Love you Man” are some of my all time favorite comedies. Great stuff!
The fact is was Linda Cardellini makes it funnier
why lol
If Linda Cardellini broke up with me I would never recover from it.
@@highdefinition450because they were on freaks and geeks together.
NO WAY
Why does it make it funnier?
Seems like an anxious, but nice, down to earth guy. Talented too

Lol he def is. When i first moved to LA saw him eating alone in a Mexican restaurant just happy go lucky
OMG this story from Jason makes me love the movie "Forgetting..." so much more than I already loved it.
Love the interview. That story about the break-up ties in perfectly with the Naked Man episode on HIMYM!
This is one of the top interviews in my book.
For everyone who doesn't know, it was Linda Cardellini who dumped him when he was naked. They dated for several years after the cancellation of Freaks & Geeks.
That's usually why when they do Freaks & Geeks reunions they have Linda and Jason sitting on opposite sides of the group.

God bless you, The Naked Man. Two out of tree times.
Eight people liked it. Eight people are watching HIMYM.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is my favorite movie of all time, it’s insanely hilarious and well written.
for Judd Apatow to just decide that he was going to make all the Freaks & Geeks actors stars proves he has superpowers
I'd be totally down with helping Jason achieve his dream of making the movie, or even moreso the mockumentary of it. I'm all-in. Let's go!
Whenever I have to go for an Ultrasound, I always say “Paint me like one of your French Girls”. And it always gets a laugh from the Techs.

I watched all his movies after HIMYM and just fell in love 😍 I really do feel like every role he's played is his real persona
I'm in love. What an amazing, nice, talented guy.
Conan? He's taken :O
Just re-watched this yesterday, such an underrated comedy film with great writing.... and a Dracula puppet musical to end it was just perfect.
The girl that dumped him was Likda Cardellini (Velma in Scooby Doo) that’s why the character of Sarah Marshall is specifically an actress.

You know what? Here! ruclips.net/video/SpcpByrTTTM/видео.html 1:53 mark
He's definitely talking about Linda Cardellini. They broke up in 2004 which is when Jason was 24
2007
He lost a good one then lol
Halfway thru the story when he started on puppetry, I thought he was going to say “and that’s how we got the idea for Being John Malkovich”
We need a Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2!
One of my favourite movies!
There's a spin-off sequel to it: Get Him to the Greek
He did the Naked man!
It works 2 out of 3!😂
it had the opposite effect
Either movie or an actual Broadway show, I would go and see Taste For Love or whatever this Dracula puppet show would be.
1:38 HIMYM Naked Man makes sense
Saving Silverman, Orange County, Stealing Harvard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall… Always will be the under-rated comedy gems 💎
Although I'm glad the _present participle+name_ movie title trope finally died.
Remind me to invite you over to the next movie night. Great taste sir!
"I love you, man" another great one.
@@uknowme1811amazing movie. Jason Segel and Paul Rudd have phenomenal chemistry
5 Year Engagement
Jason envisioned "The Naked Man" from How I Met Your Mother at 24 years old just before getting dumped LOL
The forgetting Sarah Marshall universe always bring a smile to my face lol 😂
One of my all time favorite comedies. In college, if we saw this movie was on HBO, we'd drop everything and watch it. What an incredible film.
I LOVE that movie so much and Jason's story was hilarious. I had no idea.
I love Jason Segal ❤️ and I really want to see that musical. I bet Keith Hasberger would love it
How is Jason Segel only 43? He's been around for absolutely ages

It's weird watching Marshall playing Jason Segel!
I miss Freaks and Geeks so much.

I can't believe Conan got Beercules to come on the podcast. He seems fun

DRACULA MUSICAL!!!!!! When are they gonna make that show. "Die, die, die... I can't" 🤣
How do you watch (not listen) to the full episode? I haven’t figured out how to do this yet.
They don't release video of full episodes.
You just listen, and don’t worry about watching
One of the best comedies
He tried “the naked man”?
but it was the 1 time out of 3 it didn’t work.
@nl5828 2/3 times it works but he made the mistake of only trying once
Legend tried the naked man irl. Jason is Legendary!
OMG Marshall Literally did "The Naked Man" 😂😂😂
Forgetting Sarah Marshall was great. The puppeteering was great too.
As we learned in How I Met Your Mother, "the Naked Man" works on two out of three women.
Holy cow. What an awesome actor and writer.
The Naked Man!!😂

That scene is one of the funniest of all time.
Respect to the girl, she decided she was gonna end it and didn't let anything stop her
Right? If Jason Segel was naked posing on a couch waiting for me to jump his bones... well let's just say I wouldn't break up with him right then.
True, I feel like a lot of divorces could easily be avoided if more people just had the balls to break up with someone no matter what

I'm shocked honestly that the dracula musical isn't a thing yet. It's a great premise.
His characters are typically very kind but it was fun to see him play such a douche in Knocked Up.
