In Two Rivers, Wisconsin, so grand,
A fella with magnet in hand,
    Pulled treasures so bright,
    From the river’s dark night,
With finds from the mud and the sand.
An axe head from logging days found,
A wrench that could tighten, so sound,
    Old nails and spikes,
    From railroads and bikes,
Each pull brought a tale from the ground.
    A ladder, a file, a spike,
Each find was a tale we’d like,
    With each mighty heave,
    History we’d retrieve,
    Just like Bunyan’s legendary strike.
So in rivers and lakes we’ll explore,
With magnets, we’ll find even more,
    Like Paul with his axe,
    We’ll uncover the facts,
Of treasures and stories of yore.

At 20:00 those spikes with the rings at the bottom were used in the logging days to run rope or chain through to help move them down the rivers, there were a lot of different tools that were used back in those days to help move logs.

To add to your lexicon, 20:45 is properly called a 'monkey wrench'. It has smooth jaws and the tightening mechanism is attached to the lower jaw, not the upper jaw. Primarily for square nut work.
The similar 'pipe wrench' has serrated inner jaws, and the tightening mechanism is attached to the upper jaw. This is also known as a Stillson wrench. Primarily for rounded pipe work.
But 'monkey wrench' term is often used to describe 'pipe wrench'.

Old factories in the 1900s would have just one or two large electric motors that would drive an overhead shaft. At each machine, they would drop a chain or a belt to drive each individual machine from the single shaft. I think those pulleys are from this type of mechanism that would drive different machines from a common drive shaft. Those shafts with a keyway would spin, driving the sprockets. Later it became less expensive to make each machine with it's own motor. That one large wheel was indeed a thick bearing and the other was indeed a metal wheel for a heavy duty cart.

Seeing as you are in a waterway, I have to agree those spikes with rings were used to move logs around easier. Similar ones are used on mountains to string cables to assist climbers.

As I always tell my son, we call handgun magazines "clips" because that is what they were called for years on cop shows. I don't think I heard magazines used for handguns until the last 10 years. So we were programmed in the 70s- 90s to call them clips. Don't blame us that Hollywood was too cheap to hire advisors.
