Man this video brings me back memories. I looked up to this performance so much and watched it literally every day when I was in middle school. Craig Mabbit was such a huge influence on me when I first started to do vocals. Still do it to this day, but into heavier music now.

Any fan of TWA would know that they existed (with a slightly different lineup) for a while before Craig, under the name Calling of Syrens. He didn't start the band, he just made them The Word Alive after CoS flopped. But they were there before him and they're still there now.

Have to agree that fast isn't exactly all the shit (though it seems to be THE shit nowadays) but you have to remember the genre in such cases - deathcore, grindcore, metalcore, post-hardcore etc all work alot on the basis of fast double kick basses
