You can actually perform such an experiment using an alpha emitter, such as Po210, an aluminum or sodium. I actually did this myself and used a gamma spectrometer to detect the result. Fun stuff!
I gather that slow neutrons interact better with nuclei. Then is there useful information from higher energy neutron sources? Do some neutron captures only happen with high energy neutrons?
my question is simple,if a living person is there then its age is calculated by DNA test,if a nonliving then carbon dating, what if its a planet and stars ,how is its age detected? and what if it is not radio active does not have carbon at all? and if the answer is NAA,please explain it in simple words and with an example, thank you
I'm a university physics student and i'm doing a project about the utilization of neutrons in cultural heritage, and this was very useful, thank you!
Very helpful, even 10 years later!!!!

how NAA is non destructive while in the delay gama , the element convert to another element ??
A very useful video! Thank you! :)
What about if a neutron comes in an Helium nucleus? (4He)
I need a help to realize a report on Neutron Activation Analysis ;)
0:55 Z= no of proton = atomic no and A= atomic mass
A=mass number (?) not atomic number...
What do you mean?

Mam please upload NEET based question about NAA
Thanks for sharing
Thanks mam
Love from Kashmir
thanks a lot
Very useful thank you
yes A=mass num Z =atomic num
Nice
really nice lecture and u looks gorgeous (thanks).....
