Teens React To TV Commercials from the 90s!!
Filmed on: 9/9/2021
Jayka, the nail right on the head, when she was talking about Toys R Us, and said, “What are my kids going to have? They are going to be an iPad kid!” I’m a mother of an 8 year old, and he’s on his phone. I’m a millennial, and that commercial, brought back so many memories of my parents and I going to Toys R Us. Jayka, those were the days that are now only memories 😥!
I just realised how old this video is because that's Sierra's voice coming from behind the camera. I do miss hearing her voice. Not to mention, where has Le'Raun been more recently? Not in any recent videos that have been made, that's for sure. And Anais has recently come back, but here she looks younger.
Now it makes sense! Jayka is also 21 now… NOT a teenager! 😂
@@ProPhile Yes, that too!
Yeeeah they sneak in reruns all the time... Dani looks like a baby here compared to the new videos
@@JCee8 Then, and now, he still has a baby face.
I was going to say, Dani is like 20 and the other three are 21-22.
Lol I'm 39 years old, I don't know if I should I feel old or not watching these commercials lmao.. I do miss the 90s though :)
I'm also 39. This video has aged me drastically in the last 5 minutes 😅
@@lavendermagic84 I was trying to not to feel old, but then I heard Nirvana on the CLASSIC station on the radio.. I'm a huge Nirvana fan, and when I heard on the classic station, that's when I officially felt old lmao.
I'm 43 myself and I absolutely love and miss the 90s. I remember all those commercials from back then and their jingles. It totally sucks that both Blockbuster Video and Toys R Us are no longer in business anymore 😭.
still not old (: it just feels old to these kids
@@Cassxowary well no shit dude.. I totally get what is old to them, maybe not old to me.. but that also is the case with my parents and grandparents.. it's a generational thing, I think. Kind of like what I think is old at 40 yrs old, but not be to people younger than me.. hence the generational thing.
I grew up in the 90s and early 00s. I remember all of these commercials though I rarely ever had cable growing up. Most of the time we just had one of those TVs with the rabbit ears and the only channel we got was the local news and even then just barely. They played other things during the day too, but 98% of the day weekdays and all day Sunday there was never anything to watch. I was the poor kid who never saw or got to play with any of the cool stuff unless I went to a friend’s house. To this day I’ve never set foot in a Toys ‘R Us and since they went bankrupt I never will.
Jayka - this is from the nineties? I didn't know it was that old, I had it in the two thousands. Well, young lady, I'm 65 and played it in the mid sixties. The game is 60 years old this year.
Gidget the Taco Bell chihuahua February 7, 1994 - July 21, 2009 RIP We all miss you so much!!!! 😭😭😭
RIP, Gidget. She was a very good girl, and did so well at her job 💗
My favorite commercials growing up were the McDonald's commercial where Grimace and Birdie catch a falling star to gift Ronald for Christmas; and The one with the little blonde girl with her suitcase, that wants to run away to McDonald Land... those 2 really tug on my heart strings
And there was a French's commercial with a plate of sandwiches wrapped in yellow cling film and a choir singing "Let the sun shine, let the sunshine in, the suuun shine in" And the knife swipes the mustard across a slice of bread and it says French's mustard, then the commercial ends saying and with words on screen. "America's sunshine mustard" LOVE THAT ONE, and the Discovery Zone commercials; the O.G. softplay D.Z.!!!
Also, i hated every time a skittles commercial came on that ended with someone whispering "Skittles, taste the rainbow"... because my older sister thought it was me, and would punch me every time.
I think this video originally came out like 2 or 3 years ago on the REACT channel
yeah at first I thought it was cool that they went back to the og format with singular reactors but then realized it was an old video.
Do u know what this channel was before teens react? They change their names so much now it's hard to follow.
@@TheBloobster I think this was called Kids REACT
Where is the Dancing man SIX FLAGS commercial?!?!
Also, there is 1 blockbuster in Bend, Oregon still open. I am from Bend but reside in Seattle.
Oh yeah the one that played We Like to Party! (The Vengabus) by the vengaboys that is so fun
As soon as you see a chihuahua in a commercial, you know it's "Yo quiero Taco Bell" time
Not even a Macho Man Slim Jim commercial, I mean that's just wrong.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that dude didn’t even appear in them until 2000. It was Randy Savage from 1992 to 1999 or 2000.
@@KickYourFace10 I can't tell if this comment is satire? Macho Man is Randy Savage
@@katstorm13 I think they meant "the dude shown in this video didn't appear in the commercials until 2000."
Although you can hear his voice at the end.
Gotta have meat gotta have spice wanna feel excitemenT snap into a slim Jim OH yeah!
Another little fact is that Gushers in the 90's had more juice, so they were more satisfying. Now try to eat Gushers and I find myself striving to get more juice out of them. 😊 Also, there was Hollywood Video, a rival of Blockbuster. Hollywood Video was the more-integral store. Blockbuster in the 90's used to say in their commercials that games at their store have more challenge. But, in my mind at the time, I didn't think a game being at a different store had an effect on a game.
Operation came out in 1965.
And that commercial was from the 90's, do you have something approaching a point?
This was fun. You should do reactions to old Christmas commercials in December
Btw Toys R Us still exists in Canada. Found out when visiting up there
they were having a liquidation sale at the one in this town but then they were like nvm!
I keep forgetting that the US doesn't have Toys R US anymore ( we still have them in Canada )
Luck you! The closest we have now is Toys 'R' Us corners in Macy's stores.
Operation was a game available in the 1970’s and Chia Pets were also around in the 70’s.
“Like a good nay-bah, State Farm is thare.” - Arnold Schwarzenegger
😂😂
Missed opportunity with the Clapper
There is still one remaining Blockbuster that still exist today that is open in Bend, Oregon.
It feels like a curse that kids today don’t get to know who Ronald McDonald is.
Check out Ali Spagnola, who turned her car into a chia pet.
"I didn't know [Operation] came out in the 90s. I thought it was new in the 2000s." It came out in 1965.
There’s still one blockbuster that exists and it sells blockbusters beer too
Oh really? Where is it?
@@jediconnor9349 if I remember correctly it’s in Bend Oregon
@@Peaceful_Zen_Life Yeah it is, but it doesn’t look as big.
@@jediconnor9349 well it is the last one..
@@Peaceful_Zen_Life Yeah, true!
Old Timey!!! Ouch 😨💀
So, I've seen all these commercials, as a kid. Taco Bell used to have a kids meal in the 90s. I do miss these, and the old Taco Bell.
Kmart & Toys R Us #RIP
Should have shown them the Crossfire commercial!
I loved nostalgia critic when he reviewed that commercial
Who here remembers green ketchup and blockbuster 😅
and orbitz drink and creepy crawlers & dolly maker machines
Who else burned their mouth on bagel bites as a kid? I was always hungry, so right after they came out of the oven i would try to eat one and I'd burn my mouth every time 😅
Teens: this looks really old.
Me: 🧓
Man if Taco Bell still had tacos for 69 cents I would pig out.....
Pretty sure the game Operation came out before the 90s. We had that game when I was a kid growing up in the 80s so I don't know what year it came out.
Toys R US still exists in Canada
Apparently Toys R Us still exists in Canada.
They actually had to file for protection when the US chain went bankrupt. Toys R Us are also restarting again in the UK
@@jamesrawlins735they’re starting back up in Spain, the UK and other areas. There’s 2 of them in the NYC area, one in Jersey by Giants Stadium and the other one is in the Macy’s store in downtown Manhattan
@@jamesrawlins735oh ok, the one here was having a liquidation sale but then we’re like nvm!
Okay, I'm pretty sure that Chia Pet commercial is STILL on the air, minus the end where it mentions different stores you can buy it at.
Weird Al - "I ran over the Taco Bell dog"
On my current key ring I have a blockbuster keychain with our old scan bar, and in my wallet I have a taco bell card that expired in 2000, but you could present it after something like 9pm and get a free taco.
they need to do that again or better yet give them to the homeless instead of throwing it out
Here is some nostalgia for you
"Watch it wiggle see it jiggle cool and fruity Jello from gelatin..."
And not one Sunny Delight commercial was shown.
3:42 Actually, it just recently came back.
Yeah it never left Canada too it was bought by a millionaire! Thank god those stores are so cool and as a kid going in one its definitely a moment to remember
and of the stores listed in the Chia commercial, only one still exists with more than single digit numbers of stores
*anyone else remember the dolly maker machine and the creepy crawlers machine?*
I had a Creepy Crawlers! Not the original version, but the 90s/early 2000s version. And I loved it! No idea what happened to it... I somehow lost it over the years, probably while moving :( Not that I could buy the plastic goo anymore for it anyway.
hahaha poor thing, she said "what are my kids gonna have, they don't have anything cause they're i-pad kids" so true but so sad
This channel hasn't uploaded in a long time, besides the one a few days ago.
congrats for 1million subscribers
Wait, Jayka and Dani are still teenagers?
Missed opportunity to show the legendary Crossfire commercial.
wow really old videos XD Jayka is now super older :)
Operation goes back to AT LEAST the early '80s....pretty sure I had a few friends who had that game back in the day.
yup. just checked. actually goes back to March of 1965.
It really makes you feel old when all of the retailers for the Chia Pets are out of business!😢
Operation came out in 1965....
The commercial itself aired in 1995 though.
Generations lyric breakdown of the Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin
I feel even older now ..
Toys R Us is still in Canada.
lucky
I like the Chia Obama.
I still eat the pizza bites to this day
Ironically how old is this video?
Chia golems.
If you know, you know.
we still have toys r us
Toys R us is a Canadian Company
Wow. Toys R Us. No longer around. So sad that, that company went out.
I’m more of a pizza rolls gal but pizza bagel bites are good too 😊
wasn't this Kids REACT like a week ago?
It was. I guess since they haven't done anything with Kids React for a year they decided to revitalize it and rebrand it to Teens React. Which is kind of sad seeing that Kids React is the one that started it all.
@@GeminiWolfstarGaming They need to do new ones! Those were fun!
@@GeminiWolfstarGaming The channel was doing great until Benny and Rafi were canceled
Toy'R'Us gone - that's sad, indeed.
We still have Toys R Us stores in Canada
@@karencarr304 Not bad, Lara Fabian, Cobie Smulders and Toys R US - Oh, Canada :D
So weird... Is that Sierra I hear behind the camera????
Now taco bell don't have a $5 box no more now it cost $12 and it is in a bag now
Some near me have cravings boxes for $5.99 ($6.29 at some locations) but they have to be ordered online
No Sunny D...
Yeah and it still exists good old sunny delight
Omg the terrible graphics on the gusher commercial
UGGGGH SIERRA!!!!! 😭😭😭😭
"This looks old." 🥲 Thanks. I was old enough to be the target audience for those commercials and I loved those commercials.
