    Peré Auguste Amand Aimé Achte M.Afr Biography ( Remembering Missionaries in Uganda)
    Peré Auguste Amand Aimé Achte, a Missionary Priest among the White Fathers also known as Missionaries Of Africa had so much done in Uganda throughout the years of his Ministry.
    His ministerial journey is traced right from 1891 upto 1905, Looking at the early and first years of the Catholic Faith in Uganda, he is a pioneer in not only Western Uganda and but more, in areas of Bunyoro - Kitara Kingdom and Uganda at Large.
    His Journey is defined as follows:
    February 20, 1891: Arrived at Rubaga Catholic Mission, Kampala.
    April 7, 1891: Founded Kyaggwe Catholic Mission (his 1st Mission in Uganda that he founded), in present day Lugazi Diocese.
    August 6, 1891: Re-opened Bumangi Catholic Mission (Ssese Islands), now in Masaka Diocese.
    April 1, 1892: Founded Kampungu Catholic Mission (Buddu), Masaka Diocese.
    June 1, 1893: Transfer of Kampungu Catholic Mission to a new site at Bikira where present day Bikira Catholic Mission stands.
    May 8, 1894: Founded Bukuumi Catholic Mission in Bugangaizi County, Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom (Hoima Catholic Diocese).
    November 1, 1895: Founded Virika Catholic Mission in Tooro Kingdom (Fort Portal Diocese).
    September 1, 1897 Transferred to Rubaga Catholic Mission and served as the Parish Priest.
    May 1, 1898: Provicaire (Vice Vicar) Apostolic and Administrator of Northern Victoria Nyanza Vicariate in the absence of Msgr Henry Streicher, Vicar Apostolic of the Vicariate.
    April 1, 1900: Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers ) Chapter Delegate of Northern Victoria Nyanza Vicariate to Algiers, Algeria. He went with Pere Moullec who represented Southern Nyanza and Unyanyembe Vicariate.
    March 3, 1902: Appointed again as Parish Priest of Rubaga Catholic Mission and Member of the Episcopal Council (Equivalent of Members of the Board of Consultants).
    November 8, 1902: Return on Transfer to Virika Catholic Mission (Toro Kingdom), Fort Portal Diocese.
    NB:When Pere Auguste Achte was Administrator of Northern Victoria Nyanza Vicariate, he prepared for the future foundation of the following missions:
    1. Pere Achte laid the foundations of Busuubizi, Our Lady of Hope, in Singo (Kiyinda Mityana)
    2. He toured and secured land from the British Commissioner at Nyamigisa for the future (Nyamigisa Mission) now in Masindi. He constructed two grassthatched huts: Chapel to pray from and another for Catechetical instruction. He left behind 2 catechists.
    3. Prepared the reopening of Bujuni Catholic Mission, Mary Help of Christians, Buyaga County, Buganda Kingdom, (now Hoima Catholic Diocese).
    4. Prepared the foundation of Mitala Maria Catholic Mission, Our Lady of Assumption, Mawokota County, Buganda Kingdom (now Kampala Archdiocese).
    5. Laid foundation of Nandere Catholic Mission, Our Lady of Grace, Bulemezi County, Buganda Kingdom, (now Kasana Luwero Diocese).
    6. Contributed to the earmarking of future mission places in Ankole Kingdom, especially earmarking by contributing to that effort Catechist Joseph Rutebemberwa from Virika Catholic Mission who accompanied Fr Lesbros, Bro. Herman, and Catechist Jean Kamondo.
    February 2, 1905: Death at Virika Catholic Mission, Tooro Kingdom, Fort Portal Diocese.
    February 3, 1905: Burial at Virika Catholic Mission, Tooro Kingdom, Fort Portal Diocese.
