Old Dooley was raised Carolina
Got his schoolin’ out in Vietnam
Tucks his hair up in a pioneer seed cap
When he’s bringing his cash crop in
Now everybody said he’s just a simpleton farmer
Plowin’ hundred acres out in sugar grove
Smiling at you from an I H tractor
But there’s a secret down in every row
In the Blue Ridge Mountains with the whispering pines
They used to grow tobacco then they made moonshine
But there’s something better in the back of the barn
Down on Dooley’s farm
Old Dooley’s got a roadside farm stand
Sweet corn tomatoes and turnip greens
But if you ask to buy a jug of sourgum
He’ll know exactly what you need
He’ll meet you in the back of the woods at midnight
Bring a lantern cause it’s hard to find
He’s got a strain that’ll punch your lights out
Old Dooley’s gonna blow your mind
In the Blue Ridge Mountains with the whispering pines
They used to grow tobacco then they made moonshine
But there’s something better in the back of the barn
Down on Dooley’s farm
You can hide by day but the night will find you
They caught Dooley in the moonlight
Drug him down from the field to the State Farm
To bust rocks on the roadside
Now everybody says I’m just a simpleton farmer
But they don’t know that I’m an outlaw
Growin green musta ran in the family
Cause old Dooley is my grandpa
In the Blue Ridge Mountains with the whispering pines
They used to grow tobacco then they made moonshine
But there’s something better in the back of the barn
Down on Dooley’s farm
In the Blue Ridge Mountains with the whispering pines
They used to grow tobacco then they made moonshine
But there’s something better in the back of the barn

Molly, you've really grown into yourself, a bright shining light...
Wow! I've followed Molly for years and knew she was a great guitar player and a good singer but now she is writing great songs to boot and even gotten better with her vocals and guitar. Don't ever let them get you down lady, you are special.
Agree w your "Wow!" Amazing, 😍 her and luv Her lyrics....
This is how all country should sound
Molly just gets better and better ❤
Lighting a bowl to this
yeah good sounds - down & bluezy. Molly gotta hit here !
That banjo keeping up w Molly😛
Molly's singing is just perfect.
And Shelby driving that low down , oh yea 👍👍❤️❤️
I'm loving this. Strong lyrics, great playing, and Molly's got a killer voice to boot.
Doesn't always need blistering solos to make a song great. I'm really enjoying the new generation of bluegrass singer songwriters and Molly Tuttle is a very complete musician already.
I love blistering solos. But I am a huge fan of classical and slow paced heart felt music.
If you like the heavy style, even it out with the soft.
That lead she played here is pretty badass
Good lord miss tuttle this song brought me to tears. I know what its like heading up to YNP. The mountains put us right. But u nailed it. Sung like a true cali native. Well dun
Thank you!!!
A band was assembled around an amazing talent that is full of badasses, and they make awesome stuff. The OKC show the other night was amazing. This is an incredible band that I hope stays together.
Cool tune 🇨🇦 I know farmers here in Nova Scotia like Dooley 👍👍
You’re not welcome to our music
Same in Ireland sure Dooley is a Irish name
I knew of Mollies Blue Grass work & I loved it, but she also kicks ass here with country blues. I love that she reveals her voice in a lower sultry key with this cross over. It really shows her range & flexibility.
Just glad there's still people making music like this. Great stuff guys
You can really tell this is a Molly and Ketch collaboration- great song with strong roots. Love it.
Just got my copy this morning from Apple. Very talented each and all. Look forward to a UK tour? Keep on being who you are
Nice performance from Molly and Golden Highway!
Nice to see Bronwyn on fiddle. Best of the best. Saw her last live performance with Mile Twelve and glad she ended up with Molly and Golden Highway. Perfect fit.
I haven’t listened to much of molly Tuttle, but man this is very good! I will sure be doing more!
Wow! Great tune, Molly! ✌🏼👊🏼💪🏼
Great crew here Molly! ❤️
Love it!!! ❤️💗💕💓
I needed this piece of pure joy and fun to contrast the world news today.
oh girl...your voice is so awesome! love it so much !
Well-written lyrics with a strong vocal performance by Molly.
God bless the reefer farmer 🌿💚
Beautiful!
WOW!! WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE AND SONG!! EVERYONE WAS AMAZING!! I TOTALLY LOVE THIS!!
nice! I love this song! been listening to the live versions on youtube
That is a beautiful and present throwback to Dooley. I think some of the Darlings would approve.... of course, they would be say no, but money coming in has a way of making people forget.
Molly you killed it with this sequel song. Love it, gonna start learning how to play this right now.
what is the first one
@@MJAYZ007 Dooley, it's a song written by The Dillards, (Their screen name on the AG show was The Darlings) which first presented on the Andy Griffith show back in the 1960s.
It was about Dooley the moonshiner. This isn't as much an exact sequel as it is a tribute and furtherance of the Dillard's song.

Just had a special treat to check out this Bluegrass band called Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway in Las Vegas and Wow what great musicianship in everyway very special indeed and fresh. Congrats to the band for such a musical experience I can only label as cutting edge Progressive Bluegrass my Dad called 'longhaired bluegrass' LOL
Can’t wait to see you all live next week! Super jealous you got to record with Gillian and also Dan Tyminski and Jerry Douglas. Can’t wait to hear the album in it’s entirety! Wishing you safe travels, health and happiness 🤠
Dear Molly,
I just discovered your music and you today, and feel like I hit a home run. I look forward to listening to your songs and musicianship for many years. I hope you make it to Eugene, or Oregon someday so our family can enjoy you music in person.
Thanks for a terrific experience.
The melody reminds me a bit of Sarah Jarosz's "House of Mercy." Both are great songs.
They’ve got pretty much the same chord progression which I love because it shows that even if every melody or chord progression in the world has been done before, it can still be made original and new again!
I thought the exact same thing. Both have the same tempo and bluesy vibe.
Agree! That's what I heard right off the git go!
I'd love to hear them team up on some songs!
There similar but not that much. mostly the phrasing on the verses.the guitar lead in is really not the same.
Fell in love with this song the moment I heard it 🤩
This is a brilliant song! Thanks Molly.
Muy buena 🎉❤
So Awesome. Motivates my 54 year old body to go hard at the gym. Thanks
I’m blown away… bravo 🙏❤️🙏
G L O R I O U S !! Love it.
I love this song. Got hip to it listening to Billy Strings on Spotify.

Feels like a sequel to Copperhead Road
Great song. I came to check her out after hearing her played on Outlaw Country
👏👏👏
I hiked Art Lobe trail in NC and this song was stuck in my head for the entire 3 days we hiked. Not so bad
thanks
At the risk of repeating what I've written on other MT video comments, this is simply what we expect from her. Brilliant music, brilliant lyrics, sung and played beautifully! And what a band of great musicians. Only one request, again; when will you be back in the UK? We miss you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! Great album Molly, thank you and your fellow contributors.
Hoi Molly. Mooie song girl. Top
It a smoother version of Copperhead road. Love it.
☮️🎶. Fine 🎸playing
I keep hearing CSN's Ohio in the rhythm and melody of the verse...
Now that you mention it..............
Copperhead Road 2.0 ??? Sweet song, I like it.
DYNAMITE!

Very nice and must be great playing with your brother.
I recently saw your lessons on crosspickin and claw hammered guitar. Very much enjoying that!
A great intro to bluegrass for me.
Thanks, hope you get to do more lessons Molly you are a great teacher as well as a great musician.
Your lessons are a great way to get more people into bluegrass.
Kyle's not her brother there not directly related.she doe's have two brothers ones doesn't play music for a living the other is a guitar player Sully in A.J. Lee and Blue Summit.
