In Memoriam Pieter Vis

Pieter Vis aka Pyoter Riba died on Thursday 28-9-2017
My good friend, the Dutch bass Pieter Vis (1949) died on Thursday 28 September 2017. We all knew that Pieter was very ill for a while and all plans for interviews that we had in the context of the 401DutchDivas and 401DutchOperas websites that Pieter helped me with, were on hold since our final visit to Dutch soprano Marie Cecile Moerdijk. I remember him as a good friend and I cherish the memory of his performance as a monk in 'Krassende raven' from Dopper's opera 'De blinde van casteel Cuillée' (1894) that we performed with 401DutchOperas in 2016 in Kröller-Müller Museum with Jolien de Gendt as Margareta, Pieter Vis & Denzil Delaere as monks, and Pieter Dhoore at the piano. Why not let Vis sing his own Requiem here by means of In Mmemoriam and last salute: 'Veni Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium, et tui amoris in eis ignem accende' - Rest in peace Pieter.
