I don't think the will of D is a singular thing. We see all these characters acting in different manners even though they are D. Luffy is like dragon in the aspect of liberation, but like Roger in wanting to be free. They are kind of hand in hand. Niether are like Garp. Teach is completely different from all of them besides Rocks (which is why imo rocks is his dad.) I beleive the original D. characters had their individual will passed on to others, an the concept of it is just the strength of the will. We were told the ones with D. are enemies of the government, but Rodger helped Garp at God's Valley to stop rocks.

I really think it's D for Dawn, and in japanese the sound Don, like hitting a drum as in those daiko drums they have in japan, this sound that appears IN EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER that has a reveal, the sound is even in the anime, at the end of each episode when the "to be continued" image pops up. And taking into account the connection of Joy Boy - Void Century - D Clan, with the awakening of the Nika fruit literally making the "don" sound loud and clear, i think if it's not this Oda need to give us a really good alternative to this theory. xD

The Will of D is unshakable. I enjoy the random theories about the D clan. Here’s one off the fly. Each member with the will of D have an unshakeable will that bears a trait that will go against the gods, who are the celestial rulers. Destruction, dominance, destiny, duty etc to control these factors. Each member can be the greatest kind of enemy to the gods but there’s some hierarchy.

The Will of D is unshakable. I enjoy the random theories about the D clan. Here’s one off the fly. Each member with the will of D have an unshakeable will that bears a trait that will go against the gods, who are the celestial rulers. Destruction, dominance, destiny, duty etc to control these factors. Each member can be the greatest kind of enemy to the gods but there’s some hierarchy.

Grandlinereview went in depth about that myth when he did an episode about myths held in the fanbase. He also covered the myth about Zoro being the first mate.
Side note: Currently, Shanks holds the highest bounty of active characters after the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom. While Dragon or Silvers Rayleigh may have a higher bounty than Shanks, Oda has never shown either of them, so Shanks is currently the holder of the 'most wanted man' title based on what we know.
