I really like the simplicity of your style. Unless I'm car camping I don't want to lug a bunch of stuff around with me and watching your videos has given me some great ideas to try out. Thanks!
A superb Tarp mod Shane that I will most definately consider using next time that I am out whether ground dwelling or hammocking as the technique will provide more room. Thank you for sharing. Happy wandering. Paul :)
Excellent!, amazing difference and I see how well it works with your earlier improved ridge line set up using {stays) as used on sail boats. I'll have to look for your video on that Demo & review it again. The combo is perfect for a majority of situations. Thank You! Oregon Mike H.
Hi there, yet again my friend, well I really do like that set-up, I will be doing that with my 4x4 DD tarp and setting up my hammock as well for the first time this summer, being 68 I have to go out in summer time only owing to my health, but I am not going to give in yet all the while I can get out, thanks for the video, keep "em coming my friend. ATB Ray
Good for you Ray, that's the spirit. Positive mental attitude. Don't let it beat you if you can help it. I'm sure it'll do you good anyway. I know it helps me mentally. It's one of the few times that I can actually switch off, which does me good. Really appreciate your comments and support of channel. Thanks ray.
Thanks matt, you feel it as well then. Not comfortable when stooping a lot. I kinda thought it a shame to have these big tarps but not really be able to work comfortable under them.
Hi Shane.. Well those couple of poles make all the difference mate, it looked like you'd hung your hammock in an aircraft hangar. I can see myself giving that a go sometime. Thanks for sharing and as always be safe and be lucky, Wol.
Isle of Wight Bushcraft ideas like this are simple but very effective. my son is 10 and loves being outdoors it's because he sees videos like yours that he likes to go.
cracking video, maybe could use extending tarppoles/tent poles, or even extending landing net poles, something thanks packs small to carry on side of the pack and then just extend to fit the tarp maybe, thanks for sharing your idea, cheers craig
Hi Shane nice idea here mate. Can see how it would be useful for me in camp. On another note I have the same bag as you have here, very nice peice of budget gear I really like mine. Hope things are very good with you mate. Take care, Steve
I picked mine up for £15 mate. I tell you that as I'm thinking you might like to check out the site I bought it from - Regatta Outlet. I have bought a number of things from them and they are rediculous value at time. I just also wanted to say awesome to see the growth of your channel and your sub count flying up! Steve
Ahh thanks steve, really nice of you mate. Wow that was a bbbbbargain you got. Yep, ill check that site out. Thanks for your encouragement steve. Appreciated.
Now that does seem to be a great idea, i can see that working as a better option for those using a hammock that have the squarer shape mossie netting atb Barry
thanks rix. up cowleaze hill, take footpath opposite bustop on bend just past house. walk up footpath for 10 mins, woodland on the right. hope this helps
Isle of Wight Bushcraft thank you sir, I just purchased the multi cam 3 x 3 dd tarp. I think I will be very happy with it based of your video, it seems to be a great tarp. Have you heard of aqua quest? It's a Canadian company and their tarps are very well made. Check them out if you have a chance.
I use iMovie for editing. When filming with your iPhone, remember to switch your phone to airplane mode, otherwise you'll pick up buzzing and tapping of phone signal on your audio, as I have found out to my cost. Hope this helps.
Yes, it gives me an idea of the size I bought. I got the 5x5, which i will use to cover my Clark Hammock double vertex. It's a double hammock and quite large/long. It's also good for groups. FYI- I also saw your thoroughly detailed video on setting up a tarp. Really appreciate and enjoyed the tips in that video too. Cheers!
Thank you Peter. I forgot to put my iPhone 6s Plus, which I now use for filming because it has such a great resolution and quality 4K, into airplane mode. I use a plug in mic with wind muffler for audio, but if I don't turn to airplane mode, the mic picks up antenna signal buzzes. I'll remember next time.
Nice vid, like the music, what is it? Nice! Maybe I can plug your music for my vids? LOL just kidding. I hardly started, filming is complex, learning to edit, it's hard work and I have great respect for those who have found their "voice".
Many thanks MM. the music is my own composition. I always put my own music together for my vids now. Dont have coprright issues then. Also its more creative.
For the people that sleeps in a hammock this is one of the best ideas I have seen so I will be passing this on to some of my friends, thank you Shane.
Hey thank you roger. Good to hear from you my friend. How are you doing now. Better I hope.
I really like the simplicity of your style. Unless I'm car camping I don't want to lug a bunch of stuff around with me and watching your videos has given me some great ideas to try out. Thanks!

Great great video and idea. Thanks for sharing.
no problem neil, appreciate your feedback bud
Nice demonstration. Anything that cuts down on stooping gets my vote! Atb, Matt.
Thanks matt, you feel it as well then. Not comfortable when stooping a lot. I kinda thought it a shame to have these big tarps but not really be able to work comfortable under them.

I like that a lot would be great on a good weather night especially, nice one peace always
many thanks bob. it works a treat.
cracking video, maybe could use extending tarppoles/tent poles, or even extending landing net poles, something thanks packs small to carry on side of the pack and then just extend to fit the tarp maybe, thanks for sharing your idea, cheers craig
you could use what you like. i find just using any sticks to hand saves carrying and you'll know they'll be long enough. Thanks craig
Hi Shane nice idea here mate. Can see how it would be useful for me in camp. On another note I have the same bag as you have here, very nice peice of budget gear I really like mine. Hope things are very good with you mate. Take care, Steve
hi steve. yep i like this little day pack as well. got mine reduced last year to £25.00. can't be bad. hope your well steve. take care my friend

thanks rix. up cowleaze hill, take footpath opposite bustop on bend just past house. walk up footpath for 10 mins, woodland on the right. hope this helps
Great video like the concept. But was wondering what pack you are using.
Thanks jeff. Pack is just a regatta traditional daypack. Nothing special, although i do like it
What size tarp are you using for this set up please great idea wonder if it would work with my 3x3 tarp
I'm using a 4x4, but it would work with a 3x3 or 4x3 I'm sure. obviously you won't have as much space, but it should work ok. thanks for comms
great idea could give more room for cooking to thanks atb
thanks rob, yes my thoughts exactly
top stuff. hows winter looking for you?
thanks kris. winter pretty mild again at the mo thanks
simple and smart
Thank you PW. Appreciayed
Can I ask wot backpack that is you are useing in this vid plz
This is a simple day pack I use and it's a regatta traditional.
Great Idea, what dd tarp is it, that you were using?
Many thanks. It was a DD 4x4 multicam
I will, thank you for the heads up. Take care. Appreciated
Hi Shane another great video. I have not long started my RUclips channel using my iPhone. Can you tell me what app you use to download.
I use iMovie for editing. When filming with your iPhone, remember to switch your phone to airplane mode, otherwise you'll pick up buzzing and tapping of phone signal on your audio, as I have found out to my cost. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the response I'll try that. Does it give limited play back time as some apps only give you about 15 minutes
Longest vid I've done is 52 mins, with no problem.
cheers mate
Sorry one more thing I take that's iMovie Apple you pay £3.99 for
How high up the tree is your ridge line tied off? You pack a ladder in :+)
Raised arm height. Thanks for your comments jeff👍
What tarp are you using ?
It looks like a DD Hammocks 3x3 meter. 10x10 feet.
brilliant. AGAIN!
Many thanks
Nice! How big is your tarp mate? 5m x 5m? It looks pretty big. Thanks in advance for any response.
It’s a DD 4x4, helps this helps my friend.
Yes, it gives me an idea of the size I bought. I got the 5x5, which i will use to cover my Clark Hammock double vertex. It's a double hammock and quite large/long. It's also good for groups. Thank you Peter. I forgot to put my iPhone 6s Plus, which I now use for filming because it has such a great resolution and quality 4K, into airplane mode.
