Hi! love the videos. quick question: im planning on splitting a big room into two smaller ones with a dividing wall and having each room have its own door diagonally (like a “Y” shape) any advise or video similar to that? each room will have its own lights as well!
Thank you so much! Sounds like a fun project. We did a closet addition to a room awhile back and many of the same things you'll be doing (minus adding the light) are covered in that video. ruclips.net/video/6gJFV1WM2Eg/видео.html
Great looking design. I’ve been trying to figure out a nice hood for my own home and I think this is really close. Thanks. If I can ask a question, how did you get to The duct work to connect it all?
Thank you very much! That was taken care of by the range reseller. I believe they brought the ducting down through the top of the hood and then lifting the blower into the hood. Don't quote me on it, but I think that's how they did it.
@@WoodshopMike very interesting. I guess you would have found out if it was a problem. Lol. I’m wanting to make my panels removable because they’re isn’t anyway to do it with fixed pipe and no access. What angle is the hood sloped at? It seems like 22.5 degrees is about right. I don’t think it’s a standard angle so I’m not really sure what to make it.
Hi I just bought your shaker style range hood instructions and never realize that from the wall is 20 3/4 the hood that usually comes in 22 inch so that means it won’t fit do you have plans that will work on a 22 inch hood fan?
This may seem like a strange question I have under the cabinet microwave that vents outside. The cabinets over the microwave are useless, too high and very shallow. Have you ever built a hood to sit on top of microwave sort of a faux hood! Thank you for your time. Again great job
Hey Ralph. I've not built a hood like that, but there's no reason you couldn't. We have an undercabinet microwave as well, but still wanted to have the storage option. To make it look a bit nicer though I made a new cabinet that's deeper and we mounted it a touch higher. This makes a visual break in the run of cabinets by making the microwave and cabinet stick out a few inches in front of the other cabinets as well as be slightly taller than the surrounding cabinets. Hopefully that makes sense lol! Thank you for your complements, my client was thrilled with the hood!
I bought the instructions on how to build after I received them I noticed it only comes out 20 inches and 3/4 from the wall that doesn’t fit a general fan they usually come 22 1/2 from the wall so this won’t work do you have a resolve thanks
First off thank you very much for purchasing the plans! I didn't realize there was a particular standard, but thankfully the plans can be modified without too much headache. Shoot me an email at mike@woodshopmike.com and we'll go from there👊👊
Thank you very much! I actually modified a couple of their cabinets so the range hood would fit. Splitting the mitered raised panel doors was in interesting challenge lol!
Nope because the hood went all the way to the ceiling and there wouldn't be a way to "hook" it onto the cleat. I had someone help hold the hood and I secured it to the studs.
They might have to be creative then, or just jackass in a few screws like most homeowner hacks, or spend $300 on marketplace for used equipment, omg so many options I don't know what to choose!
Thanks for the feedback 👍 FWIW, the materials to build the surround was about $125 because of the maple faced ply. Had I used standard 1/4" paint grade plywood (client changed their mind to paint it after I'd already bought material), the cost would have been around $75. Hope that helps!
Excellent job
Thank you very much!
so beautiful and well done :)
Thank you very much!
What range hood exhaust did you use for this project?
did you use this w/a ventless hood? I'm looking for advice in retrofit of a ventless hood on an interior 1st floor wall -beautiful work!
Thank you so much! This was for a vented hood.

Yeah you can bet I would have heard! Honestly I don't remember the angle. It's in the plans though so that way I don't have to remember it 🤣🤣
Love the hood!! Does this hood cover all of the burners on cooktop? I'm looking for a 30" hood.
Thank you so much! It was a fun build and the client loves it! This particular hood stops about midway of the front burners if I recall.

Ouch! Great craftsmanship. Best looking part of the kitchen IMO...now it looks like they need new cabinets to match!

Do you take orders? I would like to know if I can have you make me a 30"? TY
Shoot an email to mike@woodshopmike.com. Include the dimensions for your hood, if you want it painted or stained, and your location. Thanks!
Where can I find a range hood like this but in 30 inches wide
Sorry, not sure. I built this for a client that had already selected the hood.
How long did it take you to do that?
Rhetorical question Farley! Way too long for something that should have taken a day, day and a half at the most!
Mike was the soffit cut into to install the hood?
Nope, I installed right up against the ceiling
@@WoodshopMike Did you use a french cleat?
Nope because the hood went all the way to the ceiling and there wouldn't be a way to "hook" it onto the cleat. I had someone help hold the hood and I secured it to the studs.
What’s the width of the hood?
This hood is 36" wide. It'd be fairly easy to adjust the width if needed though.
Mike what is the Height of this hood?
It is 39-3/4".
Where are you located?!
I'm not currently doing custom work.
Hello sir can you please help me with plans sir i want to join woodworking
Nicely done. …most diyers however, don’t own jointers and planers, dominos…etc those three equal 2-3k$.
Thank you! That's exactly why I didn't say DIY 👍😃

@robertgreendyke8617 you ain't lyin' 😂😂😂
Would be extremely helpful to add the estimated cost to build in the notes. :)

They designer painted the Maple ?? That would have saved your client a lot of money to go with poplar, pine, or MDF.
Silly designer
Yep. It kinda killed me a little inside. I could have avoided all those mitered edges too 🤷
