- This is a super easy minnow and Salmon fry pattern. Mixed with the use of Bucktail and this fry is guaranteed to swim true. Predatory fish will find this pattern irresistible. When fly fishing this minnow pattern use a sink tip line with a fast sink rate, short leader length of no more than 6 feet. Simple cast, swing in current and once your fly line straightens out, retrieve with an erratic motion. Enjoy!
Those are really slick Brad! That's a really interesting observation about epoxy minnows. Thanks!
love your fly,I also added red flash-a-boo too either side and it works great I caught a 5.5 lb. bull trout on it. thanks
Nice tie, cool technique for bulking up the head. Makes sense too about the soft body vs a hard body. Thanks 👍
Thanks for the feedback. Solarez is the secret to building a great head on any fly, try some you'll love it.
As I was watching your video it did not have a item under the Mylar tubing as shown in original picture. What can I use under Mylar tubing to not being able to see hook shank. Thank you for great video.
John Meyer you can just use thread wraps to cover the hook shank. You can use white if you want to blend it in. My personal choice is using red thread on the shank. It give it a really cool looking undertone.
been lazy to be looking for Mylar tubing.suggestions for an easy place to buy it?
