This is awesome. My husband and I went on a five week trip to the Hawaiian islands in the winter, which was lovely weather there. We visited five islands, four plus a day trip to Lanai. We used miles to fly, stayed at Airbnb's, glamped, a bed and breakfast, and even some hostel type places (private rooms but shared bathrooms and kitchens), and bought groceries for some of our meals. It was a blast. We did have to buy inter-island tickets but they are relatively inexpensive.
Glad you’ve discovered how to do all of these things. Many I’ve grown up doing (I’m 72) and many (points, etc.). I’ve been doing 20-30 years. For me, it’s like a game figuring out how inexpensively I can do things.
Whilst the tips weren't immediately relevant to me as I'm not able to travel for the time being since becoming mostly housebound at the start of the pandemic, I found them very interesting and I really enjoyed the glimpses of the places you visited; your country has some amazing natural landscapes. Very beautiful. Very glad you had a nice time.
Thanks for sharing! We just had family here from England and it was less expense to fly into Miami than Fort Lauderdale or Palm Beach, which were closer. They rented a car which was less expensive to reserve from home than here so it was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive.
I enjoyed your helpful tips! My partner and I are starting to plan for a big road trip from Niagara Falls (Canada) to the Tampa Bay area around this time next year. We want to watch our favourite sports (preseason baseball, golf, and hockey) and enjoy the nice weather in Florida. We'll have to stop along the way to sleep so we might visit Graceland too.
