I realized how powerful the Archetypes of Tarot were when I realized that the Tower Card was 9-11 in a nutshell. It shows the Tower being struck, depicts fire burning towards the top of the Tower, it illustrates the toppling crown (Empire perhaps?..), it shows people falling, or jumping from the Tower, amongst other things. It signifies crisis, sudden unforeseen change, danger, destruction and higher learning, liberation, just to name a few attributes. So basically that day was the playing out of the essence of the Tower Card. I've never heard anyone mention it, even people big into Tarot, perhaps some of you have.
What comes to mind for me is the financial system. The events of 9-11 marked significant shifts, including the beginning of the digital age. When I think of where we were then compared to now, there has been a huge shift in the way we do business, make money, as well the way money is accessed and disbursed. The technology has also contributed to significant transfers of wealth. I'd say the changes in our financial systems and the rise of the digital age align closely with the themes of the Tower Card.
