Big Time!!! Let's Gooooooooo!!!! Love seeing in video. U need a customer #1 badge. Like first hamburger from the first McDonald's Thanks for bringing the exciting moment into a video.
@@thenetworkarchitectchannel thanks Walter, definitely a big moment!
Thanks for this. I was starting to worry that no one would have covered their opening day.
@@tonystorcke there were at least four other people who showed up to charge at some point while I was there. Pretty good considering they haven’t publicized it all that much
Glad to see coverage of the Springfield, OH launch! A bit bummed that I couldn't make it myself, but another great video, as always!
Ben, Walter at the Network Architect Channel turned me onto your channel, and I like what I see. I frequently drive my Model Y through Ohio from Florida and seeing Ionna at Sheetz locations is a good complement to Superchargers. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for watching and the kind words!
Real nice of you to cover the opening of this site. Thanks for posting it so quickly.
@@junehanzawa5165 thanks for watching!
Not worried about the pre-authorization. That is the value that is usually held on gas pumps. They just don't usually display it on the terminal. (There is frequently a sticker on the pump.)
I like the location right off the highway. It makes a good backup, or alternative, to the nearby EA.
Great to meet and speak to you, Ben!
Glad to see IONNA starting to install its network. I used to teach at Wittenberg University in Springfield. If I ever go back there to visit, I'll be sure to plug in at this DCFC site! I hope they do put a canopy over the stalls.
Looks amazing. I’m glad somebody with a Tesla showed up. I wish he would have compared & contrasted charging speed to a Tesla Supercharger. I live in Tampa but grew up in Dayton. I will be there, end of January or beginning of February, conducting some business. I’m thinking of renting a Model 3 just so I have a reason to charge at the Springfield location, which I assume is just off of I-70.
@@lovswr don't know if you were able to watch Skye Malcolm's video, but the Model 3 was not preconditioned, so it got paltry speeds of ~40kW. That is one issue with Teslas, it's not possible to manually precondition the battery when going to other stations. I suppose you could set your destination as the nearest supercharger, which is about 15 miles away though. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Ben! Great that you were there for the Springfield OH IONNA debut.
@@davidkreim6544 thanks for watching!
Ben thanks for the video have been following the process on PlugShare and Walter’s videos. I know Reynoldsburg will get one but I hope one of the Polaris Sheetz could get one . They will have a ea location at ikea . I didn’t know you got a aryia from a bolt
Thanks, Ben!
Sheetz low key make some good food haha. I love going to sheetz when going on road trips. Interesting to see Ionna as a normal location and not a fancy rechargery. We need talk to Ionna about that high $75 hold. Great video!
@@ExploreWithCarlos I too enjoy Sheetz for lunch, thanks for watching!
Thanks for covering. Sheetz and Electrify America is a pretty common pairing across Pennsylvania, so the comparison with Ionna will be direct traveling through to Ohio. Scranton has both now, though the EA there is in a really poor location for travel. Will have to see how well located the new Ionna spot is.
Interesting to see the first charge and I hadn't thought about ChargePoint roaming, so thanks for covering that as well.
@@SteveBirkett good points all around. Ionna does seem to be focused on good locations for travelers. The Willoughby, Ohio Ionna location saves ~10 minutes of off-highway travel over the nearby EA in Mentor
so cool! need to make the drive up at some point and try it out. I hope they open some up near the cincinnati suburbs soon!
Nice content Ben.
Need some of these out west. Specially in the PNW.
Sheetz is my go to for long roadtrips.
Nice video! I will stick with tesla super chargers. Nearly 50 cents per kilowatt is kind of expensive.
@@stevebbbbi5438 DC Fast Charging is generally quite expensive compared to at home. Maybe Ionna will have a plan like Tesla does with monthly fees but discounted per kWh rates. Thanks for watching
I think canopy’s will come later .
Yowza, your net cost was 51 cents/kWh. The gasoline equivalent is about 45 cents/kWh. I love Ionna, and I'm glad they're there, but I'll use only in an emergency.
@@scottwilson2859 DC Fast Charging is expensive, no doubt. If I used a particular network regularly, I'd get on a plan for a reduced rate. Ionna is so new they don't have anything like that yet
Sky picked the wrong side plug 😛
He was actually testing every single unit there since it just opened. A real American hero.
$33 is insane. I thought charging was supposed to be more affordable that filling up on gas.
Charging AT HOME is the big saving. I pay about 15 cents per kwh. But even for public charging, this is ridiculous. I guess you could say "highway robbery". 😊
They have 5 charging locations in the United States. Why is this even news?
They will have 30,000 charging points in a few years. I think that warrants attention.
Charging tax on energy? Energy isn't usually considered goods or services. Might be an Ohio thing.
All sales tax is a state thing. Check your home electric bill. Here in Michigan, electricity IS taxed.
@@thisthatandtheother8781- and gas - it’s in there.
Ohio is pretty backwards when it comes to EVs. It has the lowest adoption rate among the big states
Still makes no sense to supercharge as I can fill my Murano for the same 33 dollars and get more mileage😢
Or you charge at home like over 90% of people do and get a full charge for around $7 dollars and go 300 miles for around $7 bucks.
Check back when that CVT craps out 😂😂😂
EV people are so lame.
@bend8353 you're right, I should get a real hobby like leaving negative comments on videos that don't interest me. People would know right away how cool I was
Dude couldn’t even come up with a single valid criticism 😂😂😂
