rebecca zhang The Queen does not have the authority to do that. The line of succession is set out in law. There are only two ways that William could ascend to the throne directly upon the death of the Queen. 1. If Charles pre-deceases his mother. Or... 2. If Charles were to convert to Catholicism thus excluding himself from the line of succession by the terms of the Act of Settlement of 1701.
Wasn't the Act of Settlement revised recently ? a woman can now ascend the throne before a younger brother and I believe that a roman catholic can now become King. Could be wrong.
Very useful summary - all four parts. The facts are put across clearly. Recommended to all who want a straightforward briefing about the Monarchy and the Royal Family.
It's such a beautiful looking currency as well you have to admit, with it adorning the young queen with her crown. Can you imagine it with charles face or anyone else on it? I can't!
The Thais King died over a year ago and the new notes showing Rama X are now only starting to show up. There is no need to replace the coins or the banknotes. This will happen naturally in time.
+Sketchy everybody works for the queen, so the prime minister every week tells her what's going on. She can put them in line, like a mother with children if something is not that right, not very common. I read that she can appoint a new PM, but has to passed first in parliament (?), and there are general elections, so that doesn't happen either
It's rather poignant to watch this now. Her Majesty was not able to live to 101 as her mother had, but she did make it to the 70 th jubilee. She probably could have gone on another year or several if her last year was not so terrible and stressful. The loss of her husband, the downfall of Andrew, the Harry and Meghan "thing," Charles' questionable charity "fundraising" and alleged selling of knightly orders and British passports, the COVID outbreak, and the former Prime Minister's fall and resignation. That would be terrible for anyone, but a frail 96 year old woman is going to take a much harder toll.
I couldn't care less really, but Charles doesn't have to be Charles III, he could choose something else. Some people think he may choose George, but his regnal name is his choice I believe. Prince Albert for example became George VI.
kandy kandy - I find the subject interesting, but I don't care what Charles calls himself, it's his choice. And contrary to what you want to believe, it won't necessarily be Charles when he is king.
He could indeed choose George VII in a show of independence. Good for him. I've never understood why he is so disliked (if he really is). We should try growing up like he did and see how WE would be!
Michael Rose No, you misunderstood, my point was that the correct way to refer to HRH in the video would have been to call her QE The Q Mother. You are of course correct in the spelling of The Queen Mother's maiden name, but that's not name to distinguish mother from daughter in the context of this video.
Camilla will not be queen consort when they got married kensington palace put out a statement saying that camilla will be princess consort on the ascension of charles to the throne
Loved each and every video of the British History. Can you make videos of British Colonial history and the commonwealth? Also a dedicated video on Princess Diana of Wales?
Since the monarchy is entirely basic on public support nowadays, he'll do fine as long as you don't start anything up against him. Besides, it's not like you'd have to wait long for the next succession
It won`t, since Charles will be a very old King when he becomes one, he will have a short reign, and that whole time people will know that the next guy to be King is William, who with his wife is among the most popular royals in the UK. Also, i doubt Charles will actually end up being that unpopular once he becomes King..
You've got a couple of things wrong. Once crowned, which includes an anointing, the monarch of the U.K. cannot abdicate. The queen's uncle could only since he had not yet been crowned when he did. Once crowned, the monarch is monarch for life. They cannot abdicate. They in theory might be able to leave the U.K., stop royal duties, refuse to open parliament, and go live out her life in a convent in Siberia but none of that would mean she was no longer queen. It merely would mean she has stopped doing what she currently considers her duty. So why is this? British monarchs, unlike those of other nations, are anointed as well as crowned. Anointing is a special religious ceremony that for all intents and purposes makes them as though they are the parent of the nation. She could no more un anoint herself than a mother can change her own DNA so as not to be her child's mother. A monarch only give up the throne, abdicate, if they have not yet been anointed. Theoretically a monarch can refuse to be anointed and choose to only be crowned and if this happens then that would open the door for their eventual retirement. If Charles continues tradition and chooses to be anointed as well as crowned, he then will be obligated to serve for life as well. It would be presumptuous to say the queen will likely live as old as her mother due to her genetics. It discounts the short longevity of her father and his genetics as a factor. She has already outlived her probable longevity. Statistically, she will probably live another 3-5 years, maybe 7 due to having the finest medical care in the world. The queen can appoint a future regent to take over her public duties and many other duties but she cannot appoint her successor. The successor is chosen by strict following of British law which is overseen by parliament. The royal family informs parliament of any birth of a new member of the royal family who is eligible for the line of succession and parliament, after a largely symbolic investigation which usually lasts maybe 5 minutes, recognizes the person and their position in the line. Prince Charles position was assured at birth. The only way to remove him from the line is if he does something to disqualify himself such as convert to Muslim or renounce his British citizenship. Then the crown falls to the next person in line who has also long ago been established as the Duke of Cambridge. As much as Charles obviously loves Camilla, I think it is a fair bet that Charles would like her to be crowned queen. But he might find it difficult as Camilla is one of the least popular royals. I wold not bet money that she would be crowned. I do think she will be elevated to princess consort and be addressed as Princess Camilla. I would say that regardless of when the queen dies, Charles would choose to be crowned in the warmer summer months, probably June. If the queen is gone less than a year as of the end of the summer, he probably will delay it until the following June. I would predict that William's investiture as Prince of Wales would take place the following summer. This will stretch the good publicity out over a couple of years. I would predict that like his uncle Edward, he will choose to take a lesser title such as an earldom and simply wait for his uncle to die and then take Duke of York when that time comes. Regarding the royal cipher, that would only be the case if he chooses the regnal name Charles III. He can choose any of his middle names such as has been the case for some of his male ancestors. I predict he will choose George VII to honor his grandfather. Why? The last King Charles (II) had an unfortunate monarchy and the royals are a superstitious lot so I think they will not choose Charles. The remaining middle names are Phillip and Arthur. There has never been a King Phillip and the royals are very traditional and will stick to a name previously used. They will always choose a name ending in a Roman numeral. So no Phillip. They also won't choose King Arthur due to how pretentious that will look. They are too reserved for that. So George VII is the most logical choice.
Gillian I for one would not want a republic look at France and as of 2016 look at the mess in the UNTIED STATES. Bad presidents and bad prime ministers come and go in this world the stability of the crown goes on It is a good thing,
From a complete outside perspective, I have always felt that Americans are more proud of the State they are from than from the "States". The way they were formed would have had a big part in this being more like countries than counties.
bigig10nh American here. Keep dreaming, a monarchy would never fly here. (Although I guess we do have mini political "dynasties", like the Adams', the Roosevelts, the Bushes, which would've continued if Jeb had won this election, and the Clintons if Hillary won this election.) You can't even become a US citizen if you have a royal/noble title unless you denounce it.
then there was the Kennedy's also you have had the Vanderbilts with the gilded age. as for the USA the ocuntry citizen's made their choice with the revolution. early dynaty th eAdams Almos thad a grandson of John adams go into politics.
I completely agree and have been making that prediction for years. The royal family is traditional and superstitious and reserved. Charles II had an unfortunate reign so it might be considered unlucky to use. When Charles was born it is likely that then Princess Elizabeth was not considering the historical ramifications of the use of particular names and if I recall, Charles was used to honor a family friend/close relative but I don't recall which one. Arthur won't be used since it would be considered pretentious. Philip won't be used since there is no president and I doubt you will ever see a male monarch without Roman numerals at the end ever again. That leaves George so I agree. George VII is the only logical choice. That said, a monarch can choose any name they want for a regnal name and are not limited to names they already possesses. He could choose to be named King Edgar if he wanted to though I doubt it. I he does choose a different regnal name than what he already has I would predict Louis to honor his uncle Lord Mountbatten. But that is a long shot at best. So George VII it is.
Actually Philip was used during the reign of Mary Tudor, when she was married to Philip II of Spain. And Charles could do so to honour his father. It's not completely out of the running.
I cannot imagine British, Canadian, Australian,... silver coins without the queen‘s portrait. Since I started collecting coins when I was a kid I always preferred coins with the Queen‘s portrait. Gold bless her!
Here's what gets me: I hear so much about, "No Charles and Camilla...." Then, people turn around and call for a modernized monarchy...Which do you want? Do you NOT want the heir to take his place because he remarried, and was allowed to do so by law? OR do you want Him to be disqualified using an archaic and outdated law about divorce? Like it or not, It will be, Charles as King and Camilla, his Queen.
Jeremiah Logsdon I don’t think it’s his divorce that makes him or camilla unpopular, it’s the fact that they had an affair and because Diana was so loved and cherished by the people. Camilla is seen as the one who destroyed their marriage, both hurting the UK’s sweetheart (Diana) and hurting the reputation of the monarchy and the heir to the throne. The institution as whole is all about image, respect and being correct and so having a prince who cheats on his wife and then chooses to leave her for a mistress doesn’t exactly give off the right vibe! As a whole however, I don’t think think the nation would be in too much turmoil if he was to become King, the problem lies with Camilla, she needs to be respectful of the nation and remain Princess consort instead of having her crowned as queen, simply because she will never be accepted as queen. Besides, the boots in which she has to fill are huge and she is starting out with the entire country against her
There is one thing all must expect to happen when William becomes King. He will restore H.R.H. to his mother, Diana. Catherine will be Princess of Wales until she becomes Queen Catherine. So, it may be Her Royal Highness, Princess Diana of Wales once again. As a boy, William promised he'd return the title to her when he became King. I, for one, have no doubt he will.
Unless Charles renounces it he will become king on the death of his mother and his wife shall become queen consort.Popularity or the lack of it does not come into it.The UK is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy.Charles' marriage to Camilla was sanctioned by both the queen and the church of England so there is no legal impediment to his accession nor to her becoming his queen.
Far too much Charles bashing going on here, including the snickity remarks by the uploader about Charles being unpopular. I think Charles has done very well in his endeavours. He has made the royal line approachable and likable, he has been an OUTSTANDING father to his two sons who clearly adore him, and he understands the plight of people around the country in the same way his mother does. I think he will make an excellent king. I also think Camilla is getting a lot of undeserved animosity. Aside from some indiscretions a few years ago, she has married the man she has loved for DECADES and they have made that marriage work. I would have no problem with Queen Camilla, but I understand the sensitivity around that topic, so am equally happy with Camilla, Princess Consort. There are so many Diana lovers out there, and yes she did a lot of good, but I feel Diana had her own agenda and it was bitter and it rather tarnishes the image I have of her. I respect her, but I think she made some immature choices. At the end of the day though, Charles will be king, and he will be a very good monarch in much the same way his mother and grandfather were.
I believe this will happen as well, I do not feel the same about Charles however, approchable is not a word I would consider when referring to the Prince of Wales.
It will be eventually. But if you are wishing that it go directly to William then you must not like William much because for that to happen first his beloved father must die. Would you want a parent that you love dearly to die early just so you can take over the company business?
privatetheatrevid Princess Consort works for me! But not queen she's divorced! Uncle Eddie couldn't rule with his divorcee next to him. So in my opinion neither should Camilla!
Those are not the arms of the archbishop of Canterbury. The archbishop of Canterbury does not choose or approve of the next monarch, they merely perform their legally required duty to crown and anoint.
Louis XIV of France, Rama IX of Thailand, and Johann II of Liechtenstein all had reigns longer than Elizabeth II's has been so far. She is the longest reigning queen in world history, not the longest reigning monarch. At least, not yet.
The more time that passes since Charles and Diana's divorce and Diana's death, the less animosity I have for Charles and Camilla. The divorce and death were tragic. Charles and Camilla seem to carry themselves with humility and dignity. They have done a lot to promote very worthwhile causes. Many Americans admire the current queen and see no reason now to change the line of succession. The British royal family is a constant in a world of uncertainty. After the results of the recent election, I almost wish we were still subjects of the Queen.
Actually, their form of government is better. When the Prime Minister no longer has the confidence of their party and the government. They throw EVERYBODY OUT and have new elections. We have to wait at least FOUR years!
It's because people like Trump can become President that we prefer our Monarchy. Just imagine, Tony Blair or Corbyn as President of the UK rather than her Majesty ! Ugh.
Wtf what are you going on about are you dummer than bag full fucking hammers. I'm Australian and let me tell living under fucking brit royal fam when your head of state is nothing more than a puppet leader . Look I know DT iant the best president you guys got but look at this way in just a few years from now you're have a new one. I'd rather that than being under the royal thumb Man you got freedom well more than we got here in Australia. so be pleased with what you got cos living in a monarchy country like Australia aint no picnic.
Charles has already stated (several years ago) that he would not use the name 'Charles' as king due to 50% of the kings with that name having been decapitated by the people. His choice at that time was to be 'George VII'. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. .
Why would that be the case? IF Charles chooses the regnal name Charles III (which is by no means certain) the Royal cipher would be CIIIR. Where on earth do you get the PO from?
Charles retains his title of Prince of Wales until he dies, and it will never pass to William. William, as King, could create his son Prince George as Prince of Wales as he would be the heir apparent.
if charles rises to the throne, then william would become prince of wales as is tradition. the heir apparent, as long as they are male, is always the prince of wales.
The title Prince of Wales is by law bestowed AS A GIFT to the Heir Apparent; it is not automatic. The title of Duke of Cornwall is automatic to the eldest surviving son of the Sovereign.
It is a not a given that the Prince of Wales will take the regnal name Charles III, given the relative unpopularity of Charles I and the Civil War. He may be much more likely to take the popular Windsor name George, and would then be George VII (meaning Prince George of Cambridge would be eventually George VIII)
Not only is it not a given but it is unlikely that he would. The most likely name from among those he possesses is George as you suggest. The last king Charles had an unfortunate reign and the royals are superstitious. He won't choose Phillip though he will be tempted. He won't because there has never been a king Phillip. He is too traditional to do that. He won't use Arthur because that would be too pretentious. Imagine how the press would react if he chose to be crowned King Arthur. So that leaves George which he will almost certainly use to honor his grandfather who died when he was around 4 years old. William will most likely use his first name, not to be more modern but because it's the most logical. He might choose Philip to honor his grandfather and being more modern than his father he is unlikely to let tradition get in the way. He won't choose Arthur for the same reason his father won't. That leaves William and Louis. He may be tempted to choose Louis to honor his father's late uncle but won't because it will sound too French to the English ear. That leaves William. As for little prince George, His full name is George Alexander Louis. Though there has never been a King Alexander of England there has been more than one King Alexander of Scotland and depending on the political wind when he takes the throne, he may find it useful to choose a name previously used in Scotland. Otherwise, that leaves George and Louis. Again Louis is a French sounding name so again depending on the political wind he may choose it or not though since by the time he takes the throne, Louis Mountbatten will be an obscure memory from history. Most likely he will go with George again becoming George VIII. I would go so bold as to say that one day when he has a son, he will name him Charles William Arthur. If he has a daughter he will most likely choose Elizabeth Diana Anne. Note he will most likely follow the precedent set by his father of only giving his children two middle names instead of three like previous generations.
you might not have to worry she could outlive her son. although that might kill her if she does outlive him. could you imagine it though, she gets up one morning only to find out that prince Charles had ether died in his sleep, or had an accident, knowing that the child that she had carried and raised was gone, the son who she loved dearly had died, she would die a broken women because one of her "babies" had left this Earth before her. and no parent wants to outlive their children.
+Jason S Savitt I hope you're right, but would feel badly for the queen. It's not likely that the monarchy could survive Charles and Camilla on the throne. He's determined to have both, come what may.
The Lizz has been the most successful coin, note and stamp model in world history, Prince Phillips favourite coin is the five pence piece, in an official interview he said "Elizabeth looks ravishing on all currency, but one's particular favourite is the five pence piece, the sparkle in her eye reminds me of the time we first made out in the green potting shed in the grounds of Balmoral Castle"
A regent would be appointed. If they precede the queen in death then most likely the queen would immediately appoint a regent to take over. The likely choices would include but not be limited to the Duke of York, the Earl of Wessex, Prince Harry and possibly the Duchess of Cambridge. My money would be on a committee of regents making up two or more of the above. That is not unprecedented.
Most likely from an English Language dictionary since that is where I just found it and it is defined as the past tense of coronate which is the verb for crowning a monarch. I.E.: Crowned = Coronated. I'm a genealogist and I had never heard this one so I had to look it up but it is in fact correct albeit perhaps a little obscure and nearly obsolete.
Elizabeth won't do it. She, like her mom, believed E8's abdiccation destroyed her father emotionally, physically, and pyschologically. It may be the only reason she's hanging on knowing Charles is very sensitive.
🙁when the queen dies I wanted prince William and princess Kate to be king and queen. Now I find out this old guy comes in and will be the next king. He looks older than the queen like really!
'Good genetics' in the royal family? Hahahahaha nope. But yes, wealth and excellent access to modern medicine should hopefully keep the Queen alive for a while longer.
A monarch's consort is not in the line of succession and therefore cannot ever be enthroned. She could however become queen consort though the palace once announced that she would only be a princess consort when the prince of Wales ascends the throne.
I am an American and I watched 1-4 over and over again because I wanted to clearly understand how British royalty works. I still don't understand it but I deeply respect it and the royal family. I clearly have more studying I have to do.
Kandy: Your to lazy to find the u tube video that shows the story reported from Globe magazine. also Charles the father met her and called her a gold digger, I hope William and Kate become King and Queen!
Another American here. I have been fascinated by the British Royal Family since I was a small child. I am very confused as to the expected succession of Prince Charles when the Queen passes away. His great uncle, Edward could not be king if he married the divorced Wallis. Therefore he abdicated. They even left the country. Charles has married the divorced Camilla. How can he still become King? Not only was she divorced, but she was the adulteress who came between the Prince and Princess of Wales! I sincerely am confused as I see no reference anywhere to the change of laws regarding this.
It's because Britain is no longer as religious, the British monarch is also head of the Church of England, they would not support a divorced woman as Queen back then but now they don't care.
I am no Brit nor American, but I worry about your country and your monarchy. It will be run over. So far I still believe PJW's rhetorics, views and credibility. They are so on point!
A few years ago in some interview or other. Nothing unusual in that as it has been common practice for over a hundred years. Victoria was Alexandrina, Edward VII was Albert, Edward VIII was David and George VI was Albert. Apparently when Elizabeth became queen she was asked by Churchill, who thought she would be known as Victoria II, what name she wished to be known as, she hesitated, presumably having a think, but was given an agry look by her mother and then answered "my own name."

The Queen's death will affect Australia as well. Our currency shows the Queen's face on it.
It's such a beautiful looking currency as well you have to admit, with it adorning the young queen with her crown. Can you imagine it with charles face or anyone else on it? I can't!
I would like see Harry or William Than Charles on the new Currency
Canada will have a lot of money to change as she is on the "heads" side of all of our coins, the $20 and the usually unseen $1000 too.
Jamen Rowland But on the Canadian note it shows the modern day face not the young Queen like England's notes.
The Thais King died over a year ago and the new notes showing Rama X are now only starting to show up. There is no need to replace the coins or the banknotes. This will happen naturally in time.

The Queen: **laughs in immortal**
As of right now, Prince Phillip has just passed away and now we’re waiting for Price Charles to go so that Prince William can ascend the throne.
The queen will never die
This is very interesting. I am an American and have always been intrigued by the British royal family. What is their purpose?
Sketchy right now their purpose is mostly ceremonial. something to bring in tourism dollars.
they have next to no power.
Okay, I like Will and Kate most.
+Sketchy
everybody works for the queen, so the prime minister every week tells her what's going on. She can put them in line, like a mother with children if something is not that right, not very common. I read that she can appoint a new PM, but has to passed first in parliament (?), and there are general elections, so that doesn't happen either
Sketchy I prefer Henry/Harry
They're mainly figureheads these days, living symbols of the UK rather than having any political power.
You are correct and most likely he will choose George VII.
kandy kandy - I find the subject interesting, but I don't care what Charles calls himself, it's his choice. And contrary to what you want to believe, it won't necessarily be Charles when he is king.
He could indeed choose George VII in a show of independence. Good for him. I've never understood why he is so disliked (if he really is). We should try growing up like he did and see how WE would be!
Personally I don't see why he'd change it, in modern days. When Queen Elizabeth was asked when her new name will be she said, "Elizabeth, of course".
THANK YOU! Most people dont realize this!
Lovely commentary thanks you. Bless you Your Majesty may you reign for more years.
The presenter referred to the Queen's mother at Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons, when it is Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
Michael Rose which was her maiden name. She was HRH Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother
TubeYou No, you misunderstand - he said she was called Elizabeth Bowes Lyons, when it is Bowes Lyon.
Michael Rose No, you misunderstood, my point was that the correct way to refer to HRH in the video would have been to call her QE The Q Mother. You are of course correct in the spelling of The Queen Mother's maiden name, but that's not name to distinguish mother from daughter in the context of this video.
I
Great
Thank you - very well done! I enjoyed it tremendously.
God save the Queen!!!
cos no one else is gonna save her. No god.. no saving the queen..!!
these four videos were really Good. nice job
Could it be possible that Charles passes the crown to William?
Only when Prince Charles dies its unlikely that he would abdicate after what happened with The Duke of Windsor
Then by all means Charles and Camila would be King and Queen?😠😠😠😈😈😈😈
Camilla will not be queen consort when they got married kensington palace put out a statement saying that camilla will be princess consort on the ascension of charles to the throne
Daniel Flood Camilla will legally be Queen-consort, No matter what anyone decrees.
No
Loved each and every video of the British History. Can you make videos of British Colonial history and the commonwealth? Also a dedicated video on Princess Diana of Wales?
How horrible for Charles to become the next king and his mistress/wife who ruined the monarchy
Kenneth Bull I really miss Diana... she was so perfect.
Since the monarchy is entirely basic on public support nowadays, he'll do fine as long as you don't start anything up against him. Besides, it's not like you'd have to wait long for the next succession
Have you read British history, way worse stories than that
Thank you for posting these! I have always wondered these and the other vids you did re the succession etc! Many thanks!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them.
Don't read too much into it there quite a few errors in it....poorly researched and scripted.
If Charles becomes king I really believe it’s the end of the monarch
It won`t, since Charles will be a very old King when he becomes one, he will have a short reign, and that whole time people will know that the next guy to be King is William, who with his wife is among the most popular royals in the UK. Also, i doubt Charles will actually end up being that unpopular once he becomes King..
I enjoyed this series, thank you for sharing :)
So George VII is the most logical choice.
nunya biznez whilst it is true George VI died relatively young he was a heavy smoker which more than likely caused his lung cancer.
You are a ray of light on this page! Ive been reading ignorant posts for what seems like forever!
I’m not reading your essay
Sorry
Charles can become Muslim and still be King.
The only religious requirement is that he is not a Catholic.
Nice little series. Thank you very much. Unlike many of this type, I didn't spot any mistakes.
Gillian I for one would not want a republic look at France and as of 2016 look at the mess in the UNTIED STATES. Bad presidents and bad prime ministers come and go in this world the stability of the crown goes on It is a good thing,
I wish to see a monarchy in the America one day like england
We might be a mess here in the USA, but we're definitely not "UNTIED"!!
Thank you Lindsay for these educational videos
It will only be "CIIIR" if the Prince of Wales uses 'Charles' as his regnal name. Odds are, in my opinion, he'll take 'George' and be George VII.
I agree with that the new 2023 coins for Australia has been put on hold except the 1 dollar one with charles on itbut the 2 dollar one is not out yet.
What an excellent documentary, top marks,
I have learnt a lot .
Unless Charles renounces it he will become king on the death of his mother and his wife shall become queen consort.Popularity or the lack of it does not come into it.The UK is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy.Charles' marriage to Camilla was sanctioned by both the queen and the church of England so there is no legal impediment to his accession nor to her becoming his queen.
you have answered all of my questions in one video, thank you
It's going to feel weird saying "God save the King"...
I can remember singing it but then I getting old !
it should feel weird saying god save the queen anyway!!
long to reign over us?? its absolute madness, your anthem isn't even about your country!!

@@johnkeane7834 ...
Don`t say it then.
I only saw 2 videos and i already know so much. This was very informative.
5 Year later She is still Queen but her husband died
Thank you for posting these, l really enjoyed them. l must say you are so polite. Kind regards. The Commonwealth of Australia x
At the end of the day though, Charles will be king, and he will be a very good monarch in much the same way his mother and grandfather were.
privatetheatrevid I agree, but I hope, for the monarchy's sake, he passes it on to William so the crown stays popular.
I believe this will happen as well, I do not feel the same about Charles however, approchable is not a word I would consider when referring to the Prince of Wales.
Agreed. I hope that it is william who gets the crown.
Thanks for describing the concept easily.
I am the arcbishop of Canterbury and i declare Donald duck as the new king of England . Hail the king
jajajajs
Paralyzer you're quackers
Those are not the arms of the archbishop of Canterbury. The archbishop of Canterbury does not choose or approve of the next monarch, they merely perform their legally required duty to crown and anoint.
aww mann. i was hoping Mickey Mouse :(
I bow to his majesty Donald Duck the 1st
No American wants to be a subject to anyone, but Donald Trump is a stain on this country. God willing he won't be in office long.
I have some sad news to report, Queen Elizabeth has died, I'm watching news on it right now I just wanted to pass that piece of sad news along!😭🥺💔
Assumed that Charles takes the coronation name charles
Charles has already stated (several years ago) that he would not use the name 'Charles' as king due to 50% of the kings with that name having been decapitated by the people. His choice at that time was to be 'George VII'. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
.
Guess he changed his mind
I thought charles abdicated his place in running since he remarried the divorcee
nope that's Edward VIII
very well done and thank you for such a fine job
When will the bills show CIIIPO? :P
Stijn van Bezouwen I literally thought the same thing! 😂😂😂
Why would that be the case? IF Charles chooses the regnal name Charles III (which is by no means certain) the Royal cipher would be CIIIR. Where on earth do you get the PO from?
This series was lovely!
No actually he does not. It is one of the titles that a monarch can pass on to their son prior to dying.
The title Prince of Wales is by law bestowed AS A GIFT to the Heir Apparent; it is not automatic. The title of Duke of Cornwall is automatic to the eldest surviving son of the Sovereign.
death is something that no human will never avoid, however long you live ....whether rich or power
Charles Rex!
Well he should technically be Carolus Rex
König Karl
The question is “IF” then Queen dies not “when”.
In the Netherlands and in other European monarchies Monarchs do abdicate in favour of younger relatives.
God Bless Queen Elizabeth!!!❤️❤️❤️. I pray she can see that Charles will never be accepted!!! NEVER. NEVER NEVER
It is irrelevant what she sees or doesn't. Charles is next in line period like it or not.
you might not have to worry she could outlive her son. although that might kill her if she does outlive him. could you imagine it though, she gets up one morning only to find out that prince Charles had ether died in his sleep, or had an accident, knowing that the child that she had carried and raised was gone, the son who she loved dearly had died, she would die a broken women because one of her "babies" had left this Earth before her. and no parent wants to outlive their children.
+Jason S Savitt
I hope you're right, but would feel badly for the queen. It's not likely that the monarchy could survive Charles and Camilla on the throne.
He's determined to have both, come what may.
The Lizz has been the most successful coin, note and stamp model in world history, Prince Phillips favourite coin is the five pence piece, in an official interview he said "Elizabeth looks ravishing on all currency, but one's particular favourite is the five pence piece, the sparkle in her eye reminds me of the time we first made out in the green potting shed in the grounds of Balmoral Castle"
ok i know this will never happen but what would happen if charles and William die and leave George as a toddler/young child?
Probably his uncle will be Regent until he's old enough.
+Tobi Uchihi where on earth did you find the word 'coronated' - sounds like a method of bottling.
The word you needed is: coronation.
+Gordon Smith coronated is correct. Although, I personally prefer using the word crowned, which is also correct.
If camila is crowed queen it will be an insult to the country.
Hellen Jai she won’t, she’s not blood royalty
She would be crowned Queen consort
very interesting thanks for the upload
Charles would never be accepted.... it's all down to William.
Things since this was released: William has another child, Harry has child, queen makes 70th, but then Charles outlives, Camillia is called Queen
I found out I'm a cousin of Elizabeth's mother. I need to get in on some of this fame!
Honestly, I would love to see Prince William become King of the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, I mean, honestly, the guy is extremely handsome!
🙁when the queen dies I wanted prince William and princess Kate to be king and queen. Now I find out this old guy comes in and will be the next king. He looks older than the queen like really!
Very informative. Thankyou.
'Good genetics' in the royal family? Hahahahaha nope. But yes, wealth and excellent access to modern medicine should hopefully keep the Queen alive for a while longer.
Prince of Chetarria i think the presenter meant her mum died at 102
Yet Harry can marry a so called Film Star who is a divorcee and from another faith and nobody says a word !
4:59 They will definitely have to increase the size of the £5 note. Charlie's ears look fucking massive!!
No no not Camilla on the throne. No never please no Queen Camilla.
Annette Bell she would be princess consort not queen
A monarch's consort is not in the line of succession and therefore cannot ever be enthroned. She could however become queen consort though the palace once announced that she would only be a princess consort when the prince of Wales ascends the throne.
James Peyrouse-Bremer neither that. to washing up 😡
I am an American and I watched 1-4 over and over again because I wanted to clearly understand how British royalty works.
Thanks for the info
Charles is to old to be king. We need a young king. One who is up to date with modern morals.
Amrit Baba: "Modern morals"? I believe that would be called 'immorality'.
This isnt a job at WALMART! Or a popularity poll. Why dont you pick Justin Bieber?
Amrit Baba Abolish the monarchy
Thats William for you
Oh no here comes the homosexual muslim anti Christian young Brits
I also believe that another issue was that Wallis wasn't Anglican, but Camilla is.
i thought that If Charles marry Camilla his chance to be king are gone????
it's just members of the royal family are not supposed to socialize with people who are divorced
What monarch is in the painting at 2:17 between the photo of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the painting of Queen Victoria's crowning?
Unfortunately, this series of monarchy is doomed to cease once the UK is islamized! It is something forthcoming if the UK remains tolerant.
Denzel Googler please dont bring up religion
The Real Jammy it needs to be brought up. Europe is being taken over and if we don't do something, then the U.S. will be taken too.
I am no Brit nor American, but I worry about your country and your monarchy. It will be run over. So far I still believe PJW's rhetorics, views and credibility. They are so on point!
Duecethedog guess what religion is the problem once science proves
Duecethedog ISIS are just NAZI WANNABES
Charles has said that when he becomes king he will be George VII.
MultiLittlebopeep, when did he say that?
A few years ago in some interview or other. Nothing unusual in that as it has been common practice for over a hundred years. Victoria was Alexandrina, Edward VII was Albert, Edward VIII was David and George VI was Albert. Apparently when Elizabeth became queen she was asked by Churchill, who thought she would be known as Victoria II, what name she wished to be known as, she hesitated, presumably having a think, but was given an agry look by her mother and then answered "my own name."
At the rate he's going, Charles will only rule for about 10 minutes, so he should just stick with "Charles III".
Callie Masters lol
While I have never heard that, I do read a lot about the royals, it is the most logical choice.
