From what I know most table top simulations had the Soviets never making it past the coast lines if they even made it to the continental U.S. The U.S is a notoriously hard place to invade no one had the ability to actually invade it. The Soviets would never have made it to Appalachia.
I wish i could get my homies to train like this. Like we have the gear- night vision, thermal, drones, kits the whole 9. But they dont wanna put the effort in for anything beyond a backpacking trip with guns and gear.

Danner Tanicus? If so, I've had nothing but good luck with them boots with two minor issues. The liner between the heel and top likes to tear if one is aggressive while doffing and the pinkie toe area stitching can fail if you're doing a lot of lateral movement under stress (think tree work and dragging limbs or logs around, feeding a chipper). A sew kit and timely repair will mitigate total failure. That sole tho? That's a well worn pair right there!
