    Thank you! I only have a inkjet and all the videos on YT say they use a laser jet with no explanation as to why. Thank you for showing both options and the reasons why you use a laser jet.
    I can’t afford to buy a whole new printer but I will go to staples to print the few photos I need.
    Thank you 😊

    This was so good to find out. I’ve wondered if I could do this with my ink jet printer. Yay!

    Thank you for the comparison. I’m teaching a class next week and was thinking of trying this method but I have an ink jet printer. I feel like it will work if I teach them your tips since it’s a small graphic!!😊

    I print my own clip art for decopauge. If I put Mod Podge on the print side of my inkjet printed design, the ink runs no matter how dry the ink is. I always spray on a coat of a clear crylic spray. Krylon makes a low odor spray that you can use without fumigating yourself. I don't print enough clip art to warrant e buying a laser printer.

    How do the colored ones come out?
    And what is your advice on paper type? Cheaper/thinner paper? Or heavier.

    You've inspired me to make these signs. So my husband bought me a HP Lazer printer for Christmas. Of course it's probably because my first attempt was on Lauan wood from Dollar Tree. But have you ever had the copy paper leave behind a gray color background.😕 I also used Waverly white chalk paint. My copy paper is Pen + GEAR from Walmart. Help!

      @OurUpcycledLife  3 месяца назад

      If you’re finding the Easter have a hazel paper, then I would just work in small sections, dip your finger in paper and keep rubbing but I do find the dollar store. Wood sometimes does not transfer well onto and needs two or three coats of chalk paint.

    Enjoy your tutorials, but which would you recommend for printing on old book pages, ink jet or laser? I have several vintage dictionaries and other old books and was wondering if it would be better to scan in a page and put an svg with opacity reduced on another layer and print that out, or print directly on an old book page, fastened to a sheet of printer paper like a napkin? Or do you think a vintage book page wouldn't be able to be printed on without tearing up a printer?

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes I would print right on book page and attach to paper with double sided tape

    I’ve done this but with an inkjet printer and 95% of the time it comes out ok although labor intense and time consuming . Reversing graphics is a chore if you don’t how to do it so it’s off to Staples to pay for it. Someday they’re be a better way and we’ll wonder “what where we thinking of?” There has to be another solution and you’re just the person who can find it. It’s not necessarily stencils, Cricut or hand drawn letters and graphics, but another form of paper or surface and one where we don’t have to reverse the graphics. Maybe we should print on white napkins or tissue paper. I’m eager to see what you come up with.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  4 месяца назад

      An excellent technique if you struggle with the reverse method is to just DIY your own napkins with the image on it, and then decal it onto your project. It doesn’t quite have the same look, but it is much easier and you don’t have to reverse the image.

    Are you sponsored by Hewlett-Packard?
    Constantly saying "LaserJet" (which is a HP trademark) rather than just "laser", which is a generic type of printer, the way "ink jet" is a type of printer.
    I was so hopeful, seeing "INK JET VS LASER" in the title text, but then the audio is constant "laserjet, laserjet, laserjet …"
