    This is the first full sermon I have heard Bro Tony preach. And I have to say I have heard the truth and have come to the same conclusion on so many of the things he’s preached.
    We have God’s Word. And God bless those men who shed blood, and have strived to get God’s Word to the world. And God also bless those men who are still striving to get God’s Word and truth out to the world.

    Bro. Tony's preaching against Calvinism has brought out some haters and the dislikes. I've had to delete numerous comments by Calvinism proponents, and will continue to do so if need be. Calvinism is a wicked, false doctrine, and will not be tolerated on here. Many of them are highminded, argumentative, and have borderline corrupt language. As Christ said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16).

      Here's a good summation by James Melton, a Baptist pastor in Tennessee:
      A Calvinist is a person who subscribes to the theological beliefs of John Calvin, the Swiss Protestant reformer of the sixteenth century. There are five main points in Calvinism, which are usually represented by the letters T.U.L.I.P.
      The "T" is for TOTAL DEPRAVITY. This is the false doctrine that man is so depraved that he cannot even see his sinful condition and call upon God for salvation. It is true that all men are natural-born sinners (Rom. 3:23; 5:12; Psa. 51:5), but it is also true that God COMMANDS all men to repent and receive Christ (Acts 17:30-31; I John 3:23; Luke 13:3). Man is indeed depraved, but he isn't so depraved that he has no free will of his own (II Pet. 3:9; Jn. 1:12; 3:16; Jos. 24:15; Exo. 35:5, 21, 22, 29). Total Depravity is heresy.
      "U" stands for UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION, which is a heresy derived from perverting verses like Ephesians 1:4-5 and Romans 8:29. The Calvinists believe that God predestinated everyone way back before Genesis 1:1, totally ignoring their free will to choose for themselves. That is, He supposedly decided who would go to Heaven and who would go to Hell long before anyone was even born. If you'll read Romans 8:29 and I Peter 1:1-2 you'll see that God's election is based on FOREKNOWLEDGE. He didn't elect to save or damn anyone against their free will. God knew all along who would choose Christ and who would not, and He made His "elections" based on that information.
      Then we have the "L" for LIMITED ATONEMENT. This is the belief that only a limited number of people can be washed from their sins in the precious blood of Christ, because only "the elect" will be saved anyhow. The idea is that Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it (Eph. 5:25); so the blood of Christ was only shed for the church. This is foolishness. I Timothy 2:6 says that Christ gave Himself a ransom for ALL, not just the elect. ALL have sinned (Rom. 3:23); so He died for ALL, and He saves "as many as" receive Him (John 1:12).
      The "I" stands for IRRESISTIBLE GRACE, which is also false doctrine. This teaching says that God the Holy Spirit overpowers the sinner and grants him the new birth without his submission or positive response. As we've already seen, man DOES have a free will and no one is saved without CHOOSING to believe on Christ as Lord and Saviour. There is no such thing as irresistible grace. God has given us all the ability to resist anyone or anything we choose (Acts 7:51; II Tim. 3:8; Jas. 4:7). There are times when the convicting power of the Holy Spirit is so strong and real that a sinner sees no choice but to give in to God and receive Christ as Saviour, but the sinner always has a choice. No one is saved against their will, and no one is saved without first choosing to receive Christ.
      The last letter is "P," which represents the PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS. This is the only point in "T.U.L.I.P" which is anywhere near correct. Once a sinner receives Christ, he is predestinated to be conformed to Christ's image (Rom. 8:29). That is, as Christians, we are eternally secure and cannot lose the salvation which God has freely given us.

His misrepresentation and dishonestly is a good example of why so many IFB become Calvinist. The above commenter is not only wrong in his shallow assumptions of Calvinism, but the explanations are lacking. Please read the book The Potter’s Freedom by Dr. James White. This is an excellent defense of the reformation and the reformed theology. You’ll only find caricatures with the IFB side.

      @@Levij83Why read someone's book? We have the Word of GOD & HIS Holy Spirit. I can only see the reason for a man's book is to defend & justify his opinion. Calvanism won't line up with all of scripture unless one writes a book to bend, hide or ignore things for you. Understand you have that calvanism seed planted in you by man but question it with Word of GOD.

      because the Bible says by the grace of God Jesus Christ tasted death for ALL men. He commandeth ALL MEN everywhere to be saved. It's His will that NONE perish but that all come to repentance. For God so loved THE WORLD that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Let WHOSOEVER will come.

      Bro. Tony has some comments on Calvinism beginning around 55 minutes into the video. For those who don't know, Calvinism is a theology attributed to the reformer John Calvin (although others believed it before he did) that states many things, such as man being so totally depraved that they cannot respond to the gospel unless God sovereignly enables them; God predestined certain people to go to heaven and certain people to go to hell, Jesus only died for those elected to heaven and not for the sins of the world as the Bible clearly says, that God's grace is irresistible, and that the saints will persevere in the faith. Of course, some Calvinists reading this will accuse me of mis-representing Calvinism, saying that I'm not describing it correctly. They don't even agree among themselves what they are or what they believe. Here's an article that examines and debunks some of their arguments: www.wayoflife.org/database/calvinisms_proof_text.html

But the KJV bible sure does tell a person how they can know that they know they are saved. Jesus died for all thats the truth. This preaching was good for me it beat me up but hey i sure did need it.

    • @stillamazed27
      @stillamazed27  2 года назад +1

      "Classic dispensational garbage?" The Bible cannot be properly understood or interpreted without dispensations. I see on your channel, by the way, that you have some videos of Reformers Unanimous principles, a ministry I worked in for many years. That ministry happens to believe in dispensations, and believes in the imminent return of Jesus Christ- the same thing you're criticizing Tony Hutson for. Here's a helpful article about dispensations: biblebaptistpublications.org/images/Rightly_Dividing.pdf

    • @OmarRamirezEnagic

      @@stillamazed27 Thank you for your reply brother. I know that 99% of all IFB preachers are DISPYS. Let me ask you, which dispensation are we in now? Also, which part of the Bible is for "Jews only" and which applies to gentiles like me? Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word. All Scripture is given by inspiration and is profitable. I don't teach out of the RU books anymore. Too much controversy with that ministry. I just use the good ole 1611 now. That's good enough for me. But can you give me a verse about the imminent return? Oh, and before you answer, is Matthew, Chapter 24 literal and does it apply to me, a gentile, also? Just curious.

    • @stillamazed27
      @stillamazed27  2 года назад +1

      Glad to hear that you stick with the KJV 1611. Also glad to hear that you're not into RU anymore. Too many scandals and such with them nowadays. Also glad to see that you believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration and is profitable. There's no doubt many Old Testament passages, rightly interpreted, can be a blessing and have application to us Gentiles. As I heard one preacher say, "All the Bible may not be written directly to me, but all the Bible is for me."
      I Corinthians 10:32 says "Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God." So you have three groups of people there, and when reading any passage of Scripture, we need to figure out who is being addressed. There are some promises that are for Israel only. While I can read those passages and make some application for my life today, in their context, they're for Israel. For example, preachers love to quote II Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." That promise was specifically for Israel, yet many preachers try to apply it to America. No doubt there are general principles in that verse that apply to any age, but it's for Israel in its context. The 'healing their land' part is an agricultural promise, not a promise for God to heal America of her sins and other problems.
      Anyways, about the imminent return, yes, I'll give you verses like I Corinthians 15:51-58, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Titus 2:11-13, Revelation 4:1, James 5:8-9, and John 14:3 for starters. All the New Testament writers of Scripture- Peter, Paul, James, John, and Jude, all expected Christ to come in their lifetimes. Matthew was written to an audience of Jews, and so chapter 24 is talking about the second coming of Christ to earth at the end of the 7 year tribulation period, not the 'rapture' or whatever you wish to call it. Here's a helpful article about the timing of Christ's second coming: www.wayoflife.org/reports/fundamental_doctrine_of_the_pre-tribulatino_rapture.php

      @@stillamazed27 Thank you very much for your input. I am very familiar with those verses. There's an 800 lb gorilla in the room however and it's in the 2nd letter to the Thessalonians (which, by careful study of Paul's letters to them, were a church that was definitely looking for an "any moment" return of Christ. Paul, was very fond of this specific church, but he wanted to reassure them that Christ was definitely coming back after a very important event. To fully appreciate this verse, one must have a clear understanding of the difference between the "Day of the Lord" and the "Day of Christ". Another help would be to know and understand the basic rules of grammar and antecedents. So, when is the Day of Christ? And when will it arrive? 2 Thess 2:3 says, "Let no man deceive you by ANY means: for that day (the Day of Christ) shall not come, except there come a falling away first (first prerequisite), and that man of sin be revealed (second prerequisite), the son of perdition; Before you quote the "thief in the night verse, remember that that verse is referring to the Day of the LORD NOT the Day of Christ. My question to the PRETRIBBERS (aka DISPYS, dispensationalists) is how in the world do they defend an "any moment" return and reconcile the verse in 2 Thes 2:3?

    • @stillamazed27
      @stillamazed27  2 года назад +1

      There is no distinction between the day of Christ and the day of the Lord. The phrases are used interchangeably throughout the Word of God, and the immediate context must determine whether it's referencing the rapture or the second coming. Paul says that Christ can't return until a great falling away- an apostasy from the faith- occurs, and that the Antichrist be revealed to the world. www.heraldofhope.org.au/day-lord-day-christ/
