This ride was particularly special for me (Paul) because in 1968 I was sent to Ft Ord to do my "basic training" and we go past a few spots that I clearly recalled from that time of my life.
Thanks for posting this. I used to live in both Marina and Seaside. I used to pass by there on my way to Fort Ord when it was open. I haven't been home since 2004. Thanks for the memories.
I just found your bike channel. Love it. I have been watching your Liz Amazing channel for a long time. I watch this one because it is so relaxing (kind of like meditation for me). Also, I am so glad you two found each other. You seem like you are just meant to be together. My husband & I are waiting for our new 5th wheel (I hope it doesn't take much longer). I'm getting very antsy to get out there & see our beautiful country.
Hi Carolle, we're so glad you found this channel. I (Paul) am like you in that once I decide to do something I can hardly wait to get started, so hopefully you get your 5er soon. Thanks for your kind words, we feel pretty lucky to have found each other.
Amazing is right. Can't believe this channel only has 5k subscribers. Keep it up..it may blow up at some point given the number of cyclists! Your sharing some rides many people don't know about. I certainly had no idea about many of these beautiful ride. You may have to do a video of top 10 or top 20 at some point. Like VH1 100 greatest rock bands.
Thanks for that! We think it should be doing better too but we also know that we need to up our game, so we've started shooting in 4k and are adding a Strava link when I (Paul) remember to turn it on 🥴 Thanks for watching and commenting. P.
Fantastic ride, thank you! I lived out there 40 years ago, I don't remember a bike path! Three questions... Why is there chain link fence between bike path and bay north of Seaside?? Was some of this where Fort Ord used to be? What is with the 30 foot sand piles????
I was looking forward to doing this bike ride, but was disappointed that the video equipment was not with the front rider. Would have been wonderful to not be looking at a person’s back, but seeing a clear view of the scenery.
Beautiful bike path. Video would have been nicer if you had taken the video ahead of your riding buddy. I got tired of looking at his back. Open view is better.
Great tip, Michael, thank you! From now on all the videos will have the camera in front. Also, we are now shooting in 4k! Here's the latest and enjoy the unobstructed view! ruclips.net/video/b7Cga3YlQCY/видео.html
There are a few things to consider. Do you want a Mid-Drive or a Hub-Drive? Mid-drives give you more torque so are better if you're converting a mountain bike. A Hub-Drive works great on a bike that's ridden on paved bike trails. The bike you see in 99% of our videos is a Hub Drive bike with me on it. Does the bike you want to convert have disc or rim brakes? You're going to have more stopping power with disc, but the first bike I converted had rim brakes and they worked just fine - I wore them out about twice as fast but they stopped the bike just fine. The other decision you will have to make is Battery size and my advice there would be to get the largest you can afford - The Amp Hour (AH) value is the number to pay attention to and the bigger that number is the more range you're going to have. Hope this helps. P.
Enjoy this beautiful ride along the Northern California coast.
Watch out for the people on the path!

Take the Guy in front out of the ride

loved that ride
Thank you, glad to have you with us Emily!

Yes! Thank you for your feedback. All of our newer rides (in the last year) have no lead rider- and are in 4k!

The longest 30 minutes I ever pedaled. Said ride 30, I stopped after 40 minutes.
Congratulations Joanne! Thanks for watching and keep pedaling 🚴♀️
What should I know about a switch kit?
Switch kit? Are you referring to a kit to turn a non-electric into an electric bike?
Yes.

Where did you camp?
We were in a Thousand Trails Campground in Scotts Valley, but next time we want to be closer to this bike trail.
Where is this exactly?
The trail goes from Marina to Pacific Grove, CA. Beautiful ride if you're ever in the area.
