So glad someone reacted to this as their first Jinjer song, the build is so much better than the classic "Pisces" reaction. So many great songs from here with Jinjer.
Thanks man! I like to start with a bands current musical mindset , and then work backwards to see how they’ve grown. The more I listen to this tune, the more I hear. ITS SO GOOD
Hi, drummer here. The most incredible thing in this song is how in the outtro Vlad is playing a hemiola, meaning a triplet feel on the China cymbal over a standard “duple” feel with kick and snare. That’s already hard enough but when they do the odd meter turnaround into the second phrase he does that with his snare and kick but the China keeps going over the bar-line in the triplet feel so that now it’s displaced from where it lined up with the snare and kick the first time. I know nothing about his background, but I can tell you he is very well studied.
Funny thing is that he isn't really a drummer. He's a clasically trained pianist. He also plays guitar. When the previous band he was in, sorely needed a new drummer, he just decided to give it a go and try to figure out how to play drums 😀 Vlad is fantastic.
Jinjer are just *so good* these days. All 4 of them are tremendous technicians. The lads come up with super technical, brain-engaging timings with heaps of syncopation, proggy-yet-somehow-without-losing-groove (witchcraft?!) music.... & then Tatiana comes up with some great lyrics & vocals from fully-formed demos. Her cleans, with her bluesy scoops etc, bring a very human element to what can sometimes be quite math-y cerebral instrumentals. I reckon she does an amazing job of balancing things out. Just *so good*!! :) "Vortex" next please! ruclips.net/video/AiaOSGZTwtY/видео.html ....& once you've uploaded a reaction vid to that, treat yourself to the bass playthrough vid Eugene dropped for it ruclips.net/video/iBdZI_u3zP0/видео.html It's some proper #Masterclass shizzle.... the slides, the fingernail-raked chordals, the fitting in some tasteful slap&pop where nobody else would think to do it.... #Masterclass ;)
@@StanDotsethMusic You're very welcome! "Vortex" is another of the 3 singles they released in the run-up to the "Wallflowers" album release. Vlad the drummer is actually a classically trained pianist to trade. Yes, really! In fact he only swapped over from (self-taught) guitar to (self-taught) drums in his old band because he felt that would be easier than trying to convey his ideas for more interesting drumming to another drummer!! #AnnoyinglyTalented Anyhoo, Vlad composed ~80% of the music for the new album, & I reckon it shows in the almost total dismissal of verse-chorus-verse-bridge/breakdown-chorus etc formulae. Instead, there is much more organic flow thru manipulating dynamics around 2 or 3 motifs to create movements in each -piece- sorry, song. Much more of a classical approach than modern popular.... & I am *so* here for it! #SuperRefreshing All the best from a random Jinjer appreciator in Scotland. :)
@@badm0t0rf1ngerI'm so late to the party but I love these comments. I'm in love with these songs because they shatter the bonds of genre. Yeah they're rock songs, but the compositions are absolutely classical level, and they have a jazz-like sensibility--although there's zero improvisation. There are elements of so many genres crammed into this ornately detailed music! And the best part is that there's no ego. No soloing. Everything is ensemble, and each player plays utterly for the song. The gestalt is so overwhelming it's hard to fully appreciate the genius of the individual parts. This is glorious music!
Hi. Tati- beast!!!! 1. Pisces 2. Perennial live in Wacken 3. Judjement and Punishment. One take perform. 4. Teacher, teacher 5. On the top. And many other! Wellcome to JINJER Deep rabbit hole
I have seen many reactions to this song and not a single person has noticed when Tati gets inside at the start and breathes a sigh of relief at being home, the scene briefly fills with colour. I think that is so amazing given the introverted theme of the song.
Alright...just subscribed to see you do more jinjer videos. They are the best band on earth right now. You haven't even scratched the surface of what this band can do. Can't wait to see you do more of their songs!

JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) ruclips.net/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/видео.html In the video, there's a direct correlation to the pressure she felt for procrastinating lyric writing for the album to the last second. Stan, I'm a confirmed Jinjer fan, and I almost envy you. You're dipping your toe for the first time into the wonderment of Jinjer. You have it all to look forward to. I stumbled upon Jinjer on RUclips a few years ago and was immediately entranced. I now have all their CD's & EP's, and am going to see them live in Atlanta in December. I've never been so impressed with a band in the last 25-30 years (I'm 66 y.o.). Instead of just picking their latest release to react to, I suggest you go back to the performance that put them on the map (regionally, anyway) when they won Best Ukrainian Metal Act back in 2014. Check out their winning song called "Outlander." Hint: do the original audio version. Thanks and kudos!
A neat thing about the video: the credits music is a bit from another song from the album - "Pearls and Swine" and if you read the lyrics - there's a connection between two songs, "Pearls and Swine" being kind of another side or the reason for the things covered in "Wallflower"
jinjer is AMAZING. the lyrics are so meaningful, and theyre all so talented. i recommend anything from their most recent albums tbh. mediator is definitely worth a shot!
Definitely check out more from them. They way they blend the different genres is what got me hooked. Well, and Tatianas vocals. An insanely talented band. 🤘
Intoverts unite! ..separately! ..in our own homes! 🔥I love Wallflower! I love the beautiful way it starts, and I know I'd still love it if was all clean singing, but I'll admit I was hoping for a turn, unsure if it would come the first time I heard it, knew it probably would, and loved when it did! Wallflower hits me hard as a depressed introvert (always antisocial, always antifascist!), but more generally, Jinjer helps me vent heavy thoughts and I think more people are being drawn to music like this because we're living in dark times - not just the pandemic, but the looming climate collapse that is underway caused by the narrow minded greed of the ruling class of capitalism (which also causes all wars today) which Tatiana has written about in many ways in so many songs. Great reaction! Thank you Stan, for a great reaction and for bringing the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤🖤🤘
Welcome to Jinjer! Great reaction. Worth the watch and sub. Can't wait to see more. A few suggestions I'd make are live. "Cloud Factory official live video Napalm Records", "Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev", "Retrospection live in Melbourne", and also Tatiana's one take vocal of their song "Judgement and Punishment". The band members also have videos of themselves doing sound check or just playing the songs. Roman (guitar), Eugene (bass) and Vlad (drums)
Jinjer Army Denmark here :) Awesome reaction and you are in for a ride with this rabbithole ;) Subbed for more Jinjer. Most reactors start out with the song "Pisces" and you should treat yourself to that at some point. But now that you know the vocal talent and range, the shock factor of that song is kinda eliminated. But great song anyway :) Some of my favourite songs are : "Judgement & Punishment One take Vocal Performance" - "Who is gonna be the one Live" - "Outlander" - "Perennial Live at Wacken 2019" - "Teacher, teacher OMV" and "Retrospection OMV" but the list of great songs are endless so have fun :)
I subbed to see this great adventure down the Jinjer rabbit hole....amazing band, not a weak member in it...I like to describe them as Pantera meets Rush meets No Doubt meets Otep ...depending on which song you are listening to will reveal which of the 4 was influencing more that day.

Hi Stan, greetings from the Netherlands. I enjoyed your reaction. They're quite something, I agree. Watching your reaction, it made me wonder if you'd be willing to take a peek into another rabbit hole. I'm talking about the Nightwish one. Have you heard of them? If not, this might be a good time to get to know them. They are a band from Finland and they’re top notch in the symphonic metal genre. Their singer is the Dutch Floor Jansen. She has one of the best female voices in metal today. None of the Nightwish songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, like the one I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy… Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song Ghost Love Score a try. It was recorded at Wacken 2013, in front of 82 000 people. You might be surprised. ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.html By the way, if you'd prefer to listen to an acoustic performance of a Nightwish song by two of their members, check out 'How's The Heart'. I'm sure they'll convince you of their talents. ruclips.net/video/yYtkPpFYzOo/видео.html

That rabbit hole is HUGE...this band is the BEST. Incredible talent in everyone...
YES!!!! The whole band is just stellar!
This is the beauty of Jinjer, when the song full of growl vocal, we missed her clean vocal and when the song so soft we demanding her growl 😂
I agree! The fact she sang more cleans really makes the growl stand out even more!
Jinjer is my favorite metal band...Not one bad song. Enjoy, Sir.
