This was one of my favorite songs as a child. I rescued a chipmunk 4 months ago from a cat. He has some neurological issues, so I'm keeping him. He seriously loves this video every night..🤩
Al fin te encontre. Cuando era niña era tan relajante escuchar esta canción. Los niños de estos tiempos, ahora solo escuchan musica no adecuada para su edad.
I don't know why so many people don't like this song. It's about the one of the most relaxing songs from the 70's. Memories of being warm in the car as a small child on a cold day and driving around with my mom playing this on the radio made me want to stay in the car and not get out to wherever we were going(especially the muskrat Loouu-u-uuve part:) This is a kids love song and only ugly adults don't like it.
I appreciate your memories-- we are probably about the same age. My mom would have been in her 30s and this was probably relaxing to her. We drove around, too.

I’m here in 2024. I’m an 80s baby and have been watching lots of old tv shows because they just seem like a simpler, more family oriented time. One show had this song play. I’ve never actually heard it before or knew the artist. I love it! In today’s crazy world, her smile makes me want that same kind of nonstop happiness.
Although this is a silly song, she sings it in a good vocal range. I think Toni's voice, in this song, is beautiful and very soothing. Daryl's creativity with the sounds on his keyboard are brilliant and creative! I have always liked the way they arranged this song! Very unique! I like that!
I absolutely love this song. They're obviously talking about their romance in a sweet and whimsical way. It gives me the warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy all the way to my toes.😍🐭🐭
@@DavidMiller-xw3gk That's hilarious!! you nailed it, probably one of the cheesiest songs ever. i only clicked it on to remind myself how putrid it actually was!

I remember watching this when it originally aired in the 70's. I was just a kid. I loved them so much. They were a very important part of my childhood. My heart breaks......
Out when I met my wife ,Sandra, back in 1976. Wonderful memories and after two Grandkids 40 years later......Still love her. Thanks for the upload, peace and love to all.
Que buena canción de 1975 me gustó recordar aquellos tiempos que no volverán gracias por subirla en esa época eran disco de vinilo eran buenas canciones.
What brought me here was the memory I have had forever of those muskrats and their dancing and chirping. I was a little girl back then so C&T certainly planted good memories in me :)
So sad that their love didn't last. Breaks my heart. They seemed so happy together. The seventies were so innocent compared to now. You could watch something like this on tv and it wasn't weird. And OMG Toni Tenille... looks, talent, kind heart, great personality. I was so in love with her in 1976. I was 12. ❤️
If you read Tenille's memoir, she says that Captain was a very hard man to love. He was cold and aloof and didnt like being touched. The poor woman was very affectionate herself...but suffered a loveless marriage with him.
Daryl Dragon Aka. The Captain,& Tennille were a great musical act of the 1970's. I recall that they were fantastic just like The Carpenters. R. I. P Karen, & Daryl Dragon ( The Captain).
Interesting Fact: Daryl Dragon (aka Captain) had a condition called, Megalophthalmus (meaning “large eyes”) which is what made his iris’s (the colored part of your eyes) so abnormally large. The minute they zoomed in on his face I thought there was something wrong with the film or something until I realized it was just his eyes. Apparently he wore sunglasses a lot in his youth to avoid bullying because of the size of his eyes.
From the Fall of 1976 going into the Winter of 1976/77. Brings back good sweet and warm memories of that time so long ago when it was so cold and wintry…
1:25 - That is the face of a man who is reflecting on all the events in his life that led to this moment: the moment where tiny Furries appear to be dancing on his head.

The first time I saw this when I was a kid, I busted out bawling, because it was really a beautiful song, and it was done so well, watching the funny parts of it made me laugh. But the song still touches my heart even to this day.
This is so soft in it's mellow tune like an azalea spring blooms in Georgia during March. The grass and trees are also in their finest green 💚 next to a pond for the muskrats to 😘.
I'm so happy I found this video. Now I have proof of the the type of child abuse I was subjected to in my formative years to show to show my therapist.
Love this song..... Captain's eye reaction around 2:02 is hilarious..... Being this was done in the 1970's I wonder how they were able to do the animated muskrats? The other part of this song which I never knew before was the muskrats sounds were all done by Darryl on the keyboards......
This may be the silliest song ever written, and I agree, those muskrats are creepy - the stuff of nightmares. Even so, I love this song! It always makes me smile. It's a happy song!
@DaveWollenberg that pantomime is what i remember best about this song from my childhood, thank you! i loved it!!!! a cute, innocent song, made so by the awesome toni tennille!! :)
I remember the actual video to this song, I was no more than eight. It was the most loving and comforting story that I wish I could have lived in my life.
The mid 70's were groovier and more mellow than I believe anyone born after that decade can ever comprehend. It would be like trying to explain the shoreline of Fiji to someone who never left a landlocked industrial coal mine town. They'd think you were out of your mind. "Wait.. are you telling me you just go swimming in the ocean, for no reason?? I don't get it. What do you mean you sit on sand. Why would you do that? Aren't there any chairs there? Did you say, you walk around in swim suits? That's it? Don't you get cold? Is everyone poor there?"
I remember years ago, burning a CD called “mellow 1970s barbecue music.“ I am pretty sure I could have burned half a dozen CDs with all of the great songs I had on my computer.
Sometimes I smoke a little grass, pour myself a big glass of Merlot, get naked, put on my swim fins and rhythmically flop on the floor to this song while making muskrat sounds.
