The Amish Way of Life

This video takes a look at the history of the Amish, from their very beginnings to present day. We also look at life growing up in an Amish community. From education, to courtship, to marriage.
The Amish. Like most people, over the centuries have become,diverse in their practices. Some are more progressive, allowing electricity and outside friendships. While others remain more conservative, following the ways set down centuries ago. The more conservative communities are called old order Amish, and this video mostly focuses on the traditions and customs of these communities. But even within these communities you will see some variation between areas. So one generalization is not possible, but we look at some of the most shared aspects.
