    Just a shame that the M140I and M240I do not come like this straight out of factory. I respect the subtle nature of the two cars, but if you’re going to buy a performance car, you would expect it to look like one. Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between the M sport 1/2 series and M1/240I.

    • @munners0852
      @munners0852 2 года назад

      Fog lights mean non M1/240, no fog lights mean BOOM...!!! B58 slick straight 6 twin scroll madness. Lol

    • @CarStaty
      @CarStaty 2 года назад +1

      @@munners0852 Exactly my point - fog lights and twin exhausts at the back are hardly a difference. 3 years on and luckily there’s a whole range of kits available for them now. But the engine is the main feature of these cars I guess. Gained a lot more popularity over the last few years and that really shows when trying to get insured on them!

    Nice video. So a 66/67 plate M2 Vs a M240i with Motech or Birds spec.. i'm testing an M4 over Christmas, but totally agree re size, that is main reason it'd be a no. Spec wise an M4 beats an M240/M235/M2 all day long re luxury kit.

      @@JayEmmOnCars does it come with a tune? Because that would be a good deal as long as there's a tune with it. I'm only saying that because that's how much it ended up costing me for my performance pack. The rest I did on my own. Without a tune, it's basically like throwing a bunch of stuff on the car without refinement and calling it a package which is the same as paying some bloke 3k to go online, order parts, install them at his shop, and coming out with a $400 or more in profit. 🤷‍♂️

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад +2

      No but they can supply one. I personally think it offers good vfm compared with BMW's official offerings.

      @CRMXL 5 лет назад

      @@JayEmmOnCars ok, you're definitely right on that. Sorry, forgot we were talking about a BMW and I'm talking about a damn Ford which is Apple's to oranges in segment. 🤷‍♂️

      @munners0852 2 года назад +1

      @@JayEmmOnCars I agree and the midrange torque the B58 has with the right ingredients as a daily with big power and less maintenance cost! Why would you pay more for the M2, except for car snobbery! I'd rather put the £20k or so towards fuel, track days and unpaid days off work to enjoy as a non race driver!

    Honestly this video feels like it was narrated by my old headteacher, a little more enthusiasm would go a long way. If you are going to do reviews on the current flavour of the month (I love m-lites for the record) then you'll be going toe to toe with all the other CarTubers and honestly they are doing it better on this material. Your strengths were borne of bringing us Lotus content and being super knowledgeable about it, not being the 17th person to review an m-lite and saying 'I don't know what this is or that is'.

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад +1

      I was the second person to review the M240i Motech, and you can be assured many of the reviews coming up are my more usual weird and wonderful. I just seemed to have a run of BMW stuff

      I liked it, if you want hyper volume and American no use of a single consonant in
      a sentence it's probably not your RUclips channel. Each to their own. Happy motoring!

    Great review mate. Although some editing and filming advice, as I’m a film maker and editor.
    Please make sure when you are cutting to b role footage to using connecting sentences. For example, when you mention the carbon fibre package and pointed to the wing mirrors etc i expected a cut away to show it. Also, use a wind shield for the lapel mic when filming outside on windy days.
    As for the lens and camera work, use a ND variable filter when filming outside on bight midday sun. Use a longer lens when filming cut always of the car driving past as I spotted the camera man in the shadows.
    Its always nice to see close compact shoots of the cars detail as well, which I’m sure you are aware of.
    But all in all great review, I’ve subscribed so looking forward to your next video.
    Merry Christmas. 😊

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад +1

      Artur.
      Thanks for the advice. Before starting out in RUclips I was a DOP for seven years. Unfortunately YT is full of compromises. Usually time and weather. I probably should have got more cutaways but on this one I just wanted to focus on the drive.
      My mic does actually have a little windshield already on it (that's what Sennheiser claim it is!) and I have never managed to find a bigger one that stays on for longer than five minutes.
      I hate NDs with a passion but I do use a 1.2 for some exterior stuff, as for shadows unfortunately at this time of year it is a total nightmare with the extremely low sun - they are everywhere. I try my best to keep myself out of shot but sometimes that's a sacrifice that has to be made.
      I hope you enjoy the other videos on the channel
      Best
      JM

    Nice video Jay. These are very much the cars of RUclips at the mo.From the drive by sound. The Remus does very little for the cars fitter with PPF's.

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah, the Remus is just a backbox on these as a main dealer can't mess with anything emissions related

  • @4lc0n22
    @4lc0n22 5 лет назад

    You mentioned the exhaust being a Remus catback but I don't think you can fit this on a petrol particular filtered exhaust so I am guessing this is just the Remus back box and tips?

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад

      Yes it is PPF back

    • @4lc0n22
      @4lc0n22 5 лет назад

      @@JayEmmOnCars sorry I got 8mins into your video and you clarified! Although you said you would want it louder, would you still go for the Remus back box over the standard backbox in place of the mpe backbox (which now can't be fitted)

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад

      I'd personally go for a different and louder system (Remus offer one) but I'd delete the PPF and that could cause issues

    I really like this but it lacks an LSD and I really like the M2 but for an M car it has boring seats and it’s 100kg heavier than the M240i.
    Both great cars but I think no matter what I’d choose I’d end up buying more sporty looking and supportive seats, LSD (M240i), catback exhaust, Lowering springs and maybe an eco remap and possibly tcu remap if one is available for the 8 speed ZF anything more and no doubt you’ll of spent way over £5,000 of modifications. Still brilliant cars just a real shame about the seats and the lack of LSD in the M240i

    You seem to be driving a lot of other peoples BMW recently, why not get the M3 out? Loving your work rate of late, but try not to fall into the trap of re hashing marketing videos that other youtubers have posted. Sure it's a nice car, but I can't see what this video adds over countless other M-light videos out there?

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад

      Well this was scheduled to be a first drive of the Motech 240, also the reason i released it back to back with the 140i video was I also don't want too much of my schedule taken up with M Lite stuff. M3 content will come soon.

  • @voncoconut5293
    @voncoconut5293 5 лет назад +3

    Why, during the first few minutes of this video, did I get, shall we say, a 'rainbow' moment. The description of the accessories will, if you pardon the pun, go down well with a lot of the San Francisco crowd. Some of BMW buyers understandably want the product yet they also want a degree of individuality, however subtle, that might separate them from what otherwise appears to be yet another boring looking clitoris. Yes, I'll say it, every cu*ts got one. So now BMW resort to a little 'blueprinting' and a couple of discreet tattoos and a hidden piercing. Drive safe now and feliz Navidad.

    • @JayEmmOnCars
      @JayEmmOnCars  5 лет назад +2

      Keith, I wouldn't worry. The reason I put these videos out back to back was because I wanted to get them out of the way so we could get back to releasing the stuff people usually expect. Motech happen to be quite local to me and I always enjoy supporting local businesses.
      There's plenty of the cool and weird lined up for the next few weeks
