I can just imagine the unova rival meeting you at the end of route 1 or whatever and is like “so how are you and Oshawott doing?” And you respond “my Oshawhaa?”
I love how there's two ways of shiny hunting:
-Doing resets over and over again and let chance be in our favor
-Doing the technological, nerdy and RNG equivalent of Hogwarts magic tomfoolery and MacGyver stuff
Maybe worth mentioning, when it comes time to EV train, you'll have to get rid of any EV's you gained during the tutorial rival battles. Easy enough to do with the berries that reduce them, but I thought it might be good to bring up in case anyone was following this as a guide. Enjoyed the video!

Eh gen 5 has been getting overrated for a couple years now. People are just gonna say its underrated forever when in reality its always gotten love, it was largely just the dex people complained about
Loved this! Oshawatt was always my favourite starter, and the idea of getting a shiny one in the Unova games and bringing up into Hisuei is just magical. Loving your work, I'm going to have to try this.
off topic but this last week i followed your pomeg corruption video and successfully hunted my shiny mew! thanks so much for the great video man. i did runaways and it took 5,208! seriously the shiny that got me interested in shiny hunting.

MAN the super specific nerdy data of the Pokemon franchise and how it translates from generation to generation and tricks like this to use older ganes for specific entries really amps me up
Quicker way the way I did it I breed my 6 IV Samuroott from the Reid with my Ditto 5-6 iv Ditto then I got my shiny 5-6 iv oshawoot leveled it up in Arcues let evolve into Hisiuan Samorottthen Home it back to Scarlet/Violet
Question, does this also work in Black 2/White 2? Are there any variations to the execution of the needle observation between the prequel and sequel games?
yes, it works the same in Black\White 2. You'll just get a lower hit-rate on your desired timer0
btw incase you dont know, there was a glitch in PLA and Home 1.2 where any pokemon transferred into PLA from older gens would get the minimum possible size. in SV you can get a mark for that in Mesagoza
dont be dumb like me: if you are trying the seed calibration without a new game, like me, DONT activate the Cgear when you load the save file. it will mess up something (i guess it advances one or more frames or idk) and will make so your arrow combination wont give you any seed or will give you seeds that are incoherent with the seconds you set up in EonTimer and the other values will always be different.

I can't understand, the EonTimer you have is 3.0.0, the link is for the 2.0.1 that has a bug that simply doesn't open on Windows 11, I am really interested in entering this world of RNG manip, but it seems like every one has it's own tools that only works for themselves

Struggled with this due to me forgetting that the timer zeros switch took a breather came back and finally managed to pull through.
The end product is cool but the steps to get there are alienating. The more I learn about trying to manipulate oldschool games/rng, the more I'd rather just stick to their intended mechanics and gameplay.

Thanks for the walkthrough, I did my first rng and have obtained my Oshawott on my retail Black with a 2DS. Spent 3 out of the 4 hours it took me trying to load an IV seed on frame 809 when I should have been searching for iv seeds on frame 1.
You think there's enough demand for someone to research how to reliably increase the IVseed frame on BW?

If you already know your TID/SID from CFW, what would the process be to go straight from there to a shiny starter? Is it just as simple as creating your profile (after finding your timer0 etc) and then using time finder to find a gift pokemon with the right IVs, and in this case, would you click Search Nearby Shiny Frame?
Because that's what I'm trying to do, but no matter which months I select, or which year, it finds 0 results. I'm starting to think its because of the Shiny checkbox, and that I'm better off just actually targeting a pokemon first, and THEN engineering the TID/SID like you did here, since the logic stands that just because I have my TID/SID doesn't mean I have any available shiny frames for a 6IV starter anywhere near my initial frame.
Am I thinking about it correctly, or am I missing something in terms of finding how to get a shiny starter?
Does this also work for Pokemon Black 2 and White 2? And has that bug in PokeFinder been patched since the upload of this video?

I spent a few hours since yesterday trying this method. Now I call a perfect Snivy called Jörmi (Jörmungandr) my own. Thanks for this easy to follow guide! It only took me this long to iron out mistakes i made along the way. (wrong language and wrong date setting d/m/y, etc)

what do i do if i keep getting different Timer0 values when I am trying to manip for a specific trainer ID? I've had some where i get my lower value and some where I get my higher value, and I've redone looking for the ID like 5 or 6 times, and it switches almost every time
You need to stick to one timer0, there's no way around it. You can try doing the save spinners like 10 times, and see how many you get one vs the other.
One should be more common, and then always use that. Even if you have a bad luck streak, eventually it will line up. Unfortunately this is just how Gen 5 can be.

When I click “search” on the profile calibrator nothing shows up…
There is a lot of things that could go wrong, for example what’s versions are you playing on? Is the date and time right? Have you double checked setting to be 100% sure
@@mr_nerd1yeah I did I the first time. When I went back try to redo this since I had no search results for seed, nothing happened.

So when after I enter my spinner arrows, nothing comes up when I hit Search. All of my settings appear correct based on yours in the video, is there anything I could be messing up?
There is a lot of things that could go wrong (happen to me too), are you on black and white 2? Does your MAC address has 0s after the first part? Etc etc
@@mr_nerd1 I'm on Black 1, my Mac address starts with "00-09" same as yours, there's no other 0s in it no.

Anyone have any experience with tough button presses? I got B-Right-Down, and it feels impossible to hit them without moving the cursor away from Pokemon Black on the DS home menu. Would I be able to start the game and then quickly hold down all 3 buttons in time, or am I just boned?
Edit: I got it! When you’re on the step that your DS turns off after setting the correct time, make sure to press and hold down all the buttons you need hard. The directions on the Dpad, if they’re close to each other, might make them harder to hold (down and right in my case). I used two fingers for down and right, another for B, and a 4th for A to start the game.
After a few tries, I got it! It took a little bit to get my timer 0 consistently holding my hands like that, but it is possible that way.
Another little tip I’ll add is that there’s a Skip L/R in the programs you’re using, I’d recommend enabling that if you know your DS is very old like mine because I couldn’t get my L or R to work and had to start over from the beginning of the process again.

Just wanna bring up a question or problem that I faced and maybe yall got the answer, so I managed to calibrate my profile and RNG my TID/SID combo months ago and started to pick my B/W back again trying to RNG shiny starter recently, no matter how I tried, I can't get one unfortunately but I don't know what's the reason.
But I think the reason might be the bug that Papa Jefé mentioned on 9:32 because I RNG my TID/SID using the results from Pokefinder
Bro you are the goat, ty a lot. Felt super happy when I saw the sparks coming out my perfect Naive Oshawott. It was my first time doing rng manip but, after a few attempt in order to calibrate the DS and some other stuff, I was able to get it done. I had already seen some rng manip stuff, mainly from you and blisy, but like I said this was my first time actually trying. Keep it up boss :D
After trying to calibrate my profile for 6 hours straight, I finally realized PokeFinder ate the last two digits of my MAC address... after that whole ordeal, finally got myself a shiny female Tepig!
After the rival battle, the IV checker said the IVs were between 20-31, so I'm pretty certain I did it right (not like there was any other nearby Pokémon to confuse it with)! Now that I know my ID and SID, I wonder what else I should do with it...
I am curious, have Pokemon Scarlet/Violet's RNG manipulations been figured out yet? It would be nice to be able to manip 6 IV statics like the Box Legends and Ursaluna. Relying on Hyper Training has never sat right with me.

I decided to get a Shiny Hisuian Samurott the old fashioned way (since you can transfer freely between Scarlet/Violet and Legends) and got a Shiny Oshawott on my 11th egg (Masuda Method + Shiny Charm)
So what do you do if you straight up dont get a result when you try to calibrate your ds? Im using a DSi

not sure if you respond to comments on this video anymore, but i did my save advancements and got the right nature and IVs, but oshawott wasn't shiny! is there a gen 5 bug where non-shiny frames overlap shiny frames and i just got unlucky? i put the year on 5th gen time finder to 2023, and my save/TID was made in 2024, did it have something to do with that? thanks in advance!
Your IV frame wouldn't change, so no matter which nature you got you'd always have the right IVs if you hit your timer0.
Sounds like you just hit the wrong PID frame but got the same nature as the shiny

I need this question answered by someone so I was rng manipulating bdsp for shiny darkrai I did everything right and hit the correct advance it was the right ivs right nature but it just wasn’t shiny I have no idea why this happened and can someone help me please
BDSP has a chance to generate some duplicate frames with the same nature\IVs, but not Shiny. You were likely 1 frame off.
Had you set the shiny filter to show all, you would have seen the duplicates.

It's easy for me to answer. Yes it is possible to obtain a custom TID in FRLG.
However, is it easy to do? No. 😭
Look up "fire red leaf green arbitrary code execution" by Sleipnir. It's a series of glitches that you can use to change your ID, and a million other things.

You can use homebrew on the 3DS to install apps now that the eShop is shut down. Check 3ds.hacks.guide to see if your system is compatible. Its software only, no chips\soldering\opening the system required.

Don't worry! Whether you decide to keep hunting traditionally or switch to RNG manipulation, it's the journey that matters. You'll always be able to look at Oshawott and remember the time you spent.
If the only thing you cared about was getting the shiny as fast as possible, then you'd just hack... and that's less fun for everyone 😅

I'll be using Aqua Cutter, Ceaseless Edge, Sacred Sword, and then either Swords Dance or Aqua Jet, depending on Life Orb/Mystic Water or Choice Band.

Another fun thing is, there is or at least was, a quirk with transferring old Pokémon (pre-SwSh, not sure about LGPE) into PLA then SV - they'll always have a scale of 0, making them egible for the Mini Mark, my cute charmed gen 4 shiny Sport Ball Kleavor has the mark for this very reason
Keep in mind that this doesn't apply to legendaries, and some other Pokémon, but for most of them it should work.

Unfortunately not. You'll need to use an Ability Patch in Scarlet/Violet.

I would recommend 1, 2 is much harder:
More timer0s - this can make it difficult to hit your seed and nearly impossible on DSi or 3DS. BW1 have only 1 or 2 common timer0s
NPCs- the area you pick your starter in has moving NPCs that will shift your PID frame making it hard to land the shiny + nature.
It can be done but you'll have to find a seed where the NPCs movements allow you to land your shiny. I had to go through many seeds to find one where I could get a shiny, nevermind IVs

thats random chance, it used to be a glitch in that it was guaranteed but when home was updated for scar/vi support they fixed it so its back to being random again

Yes it is. The main difference with BW2 is that the timer0 is less consistent, but still very much doable. I've done 5IV Timid Heatran personally with little issue.

How do I do this when my 3ds takes 22 seconds to load to the home menu after setting the time?
Hi, I know this comment is exceptionally old but when I attempted to RNG on a 3DS, I set my Eontimer to around ~35 seconds to allow enough time to back out of the menu.
Unfortunately, I ran into too many issues with the 3DS being inconsistent, so I just caved and bought a DS Lite to RNG on. Hope you wound up getting your shiny.

Yes it does. Timer0 just isn't as consistent so you need to do more calibrations than BW1 to find your most common.
