George F hahah it actually happens. I grew up in America and now British as I’ve studied and lived in the uk for 16 years. When I’m in the uk the accent comes back. When I’m in America with family, the American accent comes back too. Show how ignorant and clueless you are. Get out of your bubble.

I feel like I have to defend the accent because when you live in places for so long you react to the language some people can Flip their tongue depends on the person who’s speaking with them and it’s not fakeness or pretentious it’s just you are a lot and its shows
Exactly! I'm portuguese now living in the UK and my accent is all over the place. I've been here for so long that I've picked up the northern Irish accent without even realising until someone pointed out to me one day. I was shocked lol
Agree! I moved from the UK to Canada a few years ago, and I picked up a Canadian accent after a couple years of being here. It happened gradually for me. Now I have a completely Canadian accent years later. I’m certainly not “fake” or “faking” anything!

actually it's pretty common to kind of acquire somewhat of an accent when you spend a long time in another place and she was there for like ten years

Thing that women don't always realise is that women generally distract men from their purpose. It is a source of pride for a man to have a job, advance in his career, and stack his money. He's not a trust fund kid like she is, he can't afford to be galavanting all over the place and splashing money on her desires while having no income. Why it's okay for a woman in her 20s to say "I'm being single so I can focus on my career", but a man can't do the same?
