I admit, that Sweden has a bigger air force, navy and war-industry than Finland, but the enormous Finnish militarily educated reserve, the huge artillery and a holistic approach to the defense are the Finnish assets. Finland has had a Civil war, two wars against the Soviet Union and one war against Germany during the last 110 years. The other Nordic countries have had a less bloody recent history. However, in the ancient times Denmark and Sweden had really many wars against each other. But because all Nordic countries are on the same side, that will cetainly not happen again. Finland is gaining massively because Sweden is strong in those areas, where Finland is on her weakest: in the air and on the sea.

Depends on branch, Finland has a great adventage on most land force items. On Navy and air force Sweden is on top. But then again the Swdish and Norwegian armies would operate in Finland/Norway, all three side by side.
In the past Sweden, Norway and Denmark were constantly at war with each other. Swedenwould have been much, much stronger if previous governments had listened to the warnings and not reduzed the military defense. Somehow these idiots thought the future would be eternal peace.
